Hi, everyone, I'm back from my short holiday! It was fun, biggrin but I got sunburned so badly that my shoulders hurt even when my hair brushes against them. gonk crying I've been using a great deal of lotion. If I keep applying it, I should feel better in a couple on days...I hope. whee
La Vie en Blanc from our House won the summer banner contest. Congrats to her! razz LHH came up with a very unique contest that I'll be putting up sometime within the next week. ninja cool
Para, I'm sorry about your friend. cry I wish I had better words of comfort to offer you other than "I'm so sorry," but I don't, and I'm not sure if words would help anyway.

Congrats La Vie!
Thanks turayza, I think I'm ready for the funeral next week.
I hope your sunburn goes away! I hate it when my nose gets burned.
I'm starting to get into zOMG and was wondering if anyone knew where the sewer opening was in barton town?

Congratulations, Blanc!
Minerva: Aww. Sunburn hurts like heck...try some of that gel stuff that's supposed to cool it. It even feels good when you put it on smile .
Para: zOMG confuses me to no end... sweatdrop . I started the training, but now I can't get out of the train station...it's probably like, right in front of my face, isn't it?

Para: All I can say about your friend is I'm so sorry. But Blanc (I think is the one who said it), she will be going to a better place where she won't be in pain. It's hard to see a loved one or a close friend die...trust me, I've been through it more times than I've wanted...you never stop missing them, but as time goes on, it does get easier.
Minerva: Ouch, I hate sunburn. Last summer, I went to the beach and didn't use sunscreen (I'm stupid, I know) and I came home, and my whole back was burnt, and around my neck area...I had the tan lines to prove it for about 7 months, and I just got burned on Tuesday at tennis camp, again didn't use sunscreen, now I'm paying the consequences, and I have horrible tan lines. It sucks. It hasn't peeled yet though.
zOMG confuses me too...I just don't get it. I'm farther than the train station, but I just don't really understand what I'm supposed to do.

Thanks for the concern over my burn. whee My shoulders are still rather stiff, but I've moisturised enough that they no longer hurt to the intense degree that they did before. In spite of all of the lotion, my shoulders still wound up peeling a bit, xp but my back, face, and neck are almost completely healed and aren't peeling. smile

That's good! My sunburn lasts forever...maybe it's because I don't burn that easily. Last summer, I got burned on the top of my legs, and it took until school started for them to heal, even with the gel. I had to wear short shorts for the rest of the summer because it stung to wear pants or long shorts that covered it.
Haha my mom's convincing my dad to get 2 guinea pigs! They're soo cute, yay! I finally get a pet I can actually remember...well, that is if my dad says it's okay...but my mom might just buy them on her own, she really wants some, I guess.
Another little tidbit...I just spent all morning looking up nostalgic Nick shows and putting them in playlists on YouTube...I had NO IDEA there were 9 SEASONS OF RUGRATS! Man...no wonder I remember that one the best...haha.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend Para... It must be really tough.
I can't imagine loosing a friend, and I hope I won't have to suffer through that in the nearest future either.
On a lighter note.. I have one rant about the newest Harry Potter movie. I watched it a while ago of course, but I didn't feel like ranting till now.
WHAT THE HECK!? D< Where was the "I'M NOT A COWARD!" Scene! They skipped it! I can't believe they skipped it! It was one of the scenes I'd been looking forward to the most! Not only is it one of the strongest emotions we ever witness from Severus Snape, but it'd also be fun to see how Rickman would manage it.
And they skipped it. *Rages* And what were the Order doing when the Death Eaters attacked!? Having some tea and biscuits!? They skipped the entire bloody fight! And where was Hagrids denial!?
Sure, I loved the light-the-wands scene...But still.
Bah. Yet again they manage to disappoint me with the important details they remove from the movie. :/
Like in the third movie, how they never really said that Sirius, James, Remus and Peter was the Marauders... and how you never found out that James was an animagus, and how his form was a stag, and that Harry's patronus' form was James...
God, I could rant forever about the mistakes in the movies. It frustrates me to no end... I have big hopes for the seventh movie. And if they mess up Severus' death scene... I'll kill something. Well, probably not, but you all have to endure my eternal ranting-ness. Which won't be pleasant.
....It's kinda sad that they call the small creatures for "Guinea pigs". I just think test subjects... Here they're called "Marsvin". and test subjects are not called Marsvin. Marsvin technically mean Mars Svine though... which is weird.
Problem with having a Guinea Pig, rat, mouse, hamster and so on as pets.. Is that you easily tire of them.... Kinda sad, since they're lovable creatures. They just do the same thing over and over, and you can't really cuddle it that much, or play with it as much, as you could with a cat or a dog...
Nickelodeon... We didn't have that channel here back then, though we have it now. But some of the Nickelodeon shows went on other channels here. Think our TV 2 or TV 3 broadcast them here if I remember correctly...
And on a completely random note...
I think this is the most freaky avatar I've ever made. o.o

Hi everybody! I'm back, and plan to be back for a little while. Now that I'm a second year I figured I would dress my avatar to suit the occasion. Hogwarts robe of course, and harry's wand. No snitches for me as I'm not athletic. I do have some parchment that I'm either working on or need to turn in, and I create a very "Minority Report" way of conjuring up information for me to read, I can never read enough. Also, my familiar is a cat, but of course cats are prone to cause more mischeif than just getting lost (a la Neville's toad trevor) so my cat stays with me in monorail cat fashion.
---
I only read the first 100 pages of the book prior to the movie. I limited myself to one chapter each time I stayed at a particular friend's house. I can see how "the other minister" was left out, "will and won't" has an impact on the end book, right? I've heard that the house elves (Dobby and Kreacher) have alot more importance.
I was also disappointed in the lack of memories. In the trailer, you obviously see Dumbledore visiting Tom at the orphanage. The only other bloody memory you get in the movie is the one that the whole 'horcrux' bit hangs upon!
It would have been nice to know about Merope, and how poorly she was treated by her family... how only Harry could understand the Parseltongue being spoken in the memory... and how Tom was born out of a love potion, and his mother died after giving birth to him at the orphanage so he never ever knew love.
Also an explanation of the ring horcrux cursing Dumbledore's hand would have been nice.
I am disappointed the most at how they never really explained/connected the dots on WHY Severus is the "Half Blood Prince", that his magic comes from his Mother's (maiden name Prince) side. The declaration of it seemed... lacking without understanding.
I'm really thankful I didn't read the rest of the book, as I'd have more to complain about.
Severus has been, and always will be, my favourite character of the HP universe.

I love your new avi Kitsune. I was reading somewhere that they left out the big fight scene at the end of the sixth movie because they thought that it would be sort of repetitive since they're having another big fight in the seventh one. I was also really disappointed that they left out the Marauder's thing in the third movie, so you're not the only one, but you know, they can't put EVERYTHING in the movie, even though that would be absolutely amazing.
My friend got a guinea pig for her birthday. Actually she had two, but then one died while they were on vacation over spring break. I've never had a guinea pig or anything like that. The only pets I've ever had were two goldfish that died, and now we have a dog.

Kitsune: Wow, long rant. I actually just remembered all the stuff they left out...I'm kind of hoping, with the 7th movie being made into 2 parts that they'll be able to put in more detail then they have been since Prisoner of Azkaban. I've just been re-reading them and I noticed how many mistakes there actually were...I also HATE that they cut out Bill and Charlie in Goblet of Fire. I REALLY wanted to see them up on the screen, but of course, they're not important enough, I guess...
That's what my dad said. They're only used as test subjects because they're smart creatures and will react like a human would to something. But I like them, they're really cute. But they're soo scared right now, when you pick them up, you can feel them shaking and their hearts beating out of their chests. That's the problem with store bought ones, they've never been held, so they get scared when someone's trying to pick them up. But they've calmed down even from this afternoon when we bought them.
Meatball: Oooh more long rants. Wow, and to think, before you guys pointed all this out, it was my favorite HP movie. I have to say that it still is, actually. The actors did a good job with what they were given, it's the producers that we need to be mad at. They're the ones that ripped it to shreds.
Nariko: Guinea pigs are really cute and very lovable, as Kitsune said. But I haven't had them long enough to get bored with them. But since they've never been held, my mom is making me hold each of them for a while until they start to get comfortable with our family. Isn't that awesome? Being ORDERED to hold a cute little fuzzball? I think so smile .

Where are your greatest strengths?
I feel that my greatest strengths are my creativity and my open-mindedness. My creativity is one of strengths because when I face a problem I am able to handle it in ways a person normally wouldn't think to. Open-mindedness is also one of my greatest strengthens because I am able to accept things easier and my views of things are never limited.
What makes you happy in your life and why?
One of the things that make me the happiest in my life would be my writing. Whenever a problem arises and I need to sort out my thoughts I can write them out to better see the root of the matter. Also on some days nothing makes me feel better than to be able to create something from nothing more than a sheet of paper and a pencil. It is like this outstanding high that seems impossible to come down from. Writing just seems to be something that is wired into my very soul and something that I could not resist doing even if I tried.

Ah, but Kineka! I love ranting. biggrin
Well... kinda messed up that they skipped Bill and Charlie, isn't it?
And how the heck are they gonna fix Bill and Fleur wedding in the next movie, when it's never even been mentioned? And when they've never met.. And how are they gonna fix the whole Bill-was-attacked-by-Fenrir when there was no Death Eater against the Order battle?
And MeatBall, you're not the only one disappointed in the lack of memories.. Voldemort is one of my favorite characters. biggrin Most likely due to his awesomeness in several fanfictions, but that is neither here nor there..
...After the movie, my friend asked my why Severus was the Half Blood Prince.. That's sad.
Severus is awesome. Delightfully awesome. One of the more complex characters in the series. biggrin

Wow you finished a pack of gum that fast? Not surprising I love gum too!
I know I love Severus, ever since I read the books I like his snarky attitude and just complete complexity of his character.
Welcome to Ravenclaw Dollie! I love to write too and open mindness is always a good thing.
Wish me luck for my first day at work tomorrow and going to my friends wake and rosary tonight.
