"Come now," Lin murmured, "The sooner we start the day, the sooner we can get what we need for those new cloaks and boots."

She was sure Miyuki wilted at the mention of boots.

A while later Miyuki was ready and the two left the room with Vergil's sword in hand.

As promised, Earendil was waiting for the two of them when they left their room. He smiled warmly at the both of them.

"So," he said brightly. "Vergil and then breakfast? Or breakfast and then Vergil?"

"Vergil then breakfast! Miyuki exclaimed as she carried the sword with both hands.

She wanted to give it back to him right away before she forgot or something happened to it. Well, that and Miyuki sometimes just couldn't' wait.

Earendil laughed. "All right, then off we go!" he grinned picking her up and spinning her around. He laughed again as he set her back on the floor, then touched one hand lightly to the small of her back to usher her forwards towards the room Cindy and Vergil were staying in.

Once there, he knocked and waited for a reply.

Cindy was still there by Vergil's bedside. There was little point in leaving, without clothes Vergil couldn't go anywhere. Not to mention she wasn't sure how he was feeling today compared to yesterday.

The knock though interrupted her thoughts and she got up to answer the door. Only to be surprised to see Earendil, Lin and Miyuki there.

Vergil was half asleep. His eyes were closed, and he wishes he were asleep, but he was still aching: his joints and bones from the suddenness of the growth, and his backside and elbows from falling onto the floor. His head was swimming, and though he could hear things going on in the room around him, it was hazy, unclear.

He was in a half-dreaming state, where his dreams reflected the sounds around him. In the quiet, while Cindy had been sitting with him, he had been dreaming that he was back home, in his tiny bed, watching as a fly half the size of his fist buzzed around him. When there was a knock at the door, his dream accommodated the sound: in his dream, he was chasing the fly, but was too slow and in too much pain, and fell down his little steps - knock, knock, knock.

Earendil smiled softly down at Cindy. "Good morning," he murmured, keeping his voice down since he didn't know if Vergil was awake or asleep. "I hope we're not waking anyone ..."

Cindy checked over her shoulder for a moment to see if that woke Vergil. He still seemed to be sleeping at any rate. Looking back at Earendil and Lin she shook her head.

"No, he's still sleeping from what I can tell, it took a lot out of him."

Even in his half-asleep state, Vergil was aware of what was going on in the room - sort of.

"Not s'eepin'," he slurred, though his eyes remained shut. "I's jus' ... res'in' ... cos I ... fall down ... the ... stairssssss ..."

That was what it felt like, and that was what had happened in his dream: to his knowledge, that was what had happened, period.

Earendil blinked. "Uh ... well ... Miyuki has something for Vergil," he explained, nudging Miyuki forward slightly.

Cindy blinked at that looking over her shoulder once more but decided that maybe he wasn't quite all there yet. She looked back at Miyuki.

Miyuki stepped forward and held up the sword that belonged to Vergil.

The phoenix lady stared at it in surprised before picking it up and studying it. It was indeed Yamato, which was surprising in itself.

"This grew with him?"

"Miyuki found it under his chair last night after you took him upstairs," Earendil explained. "Apparently it did grow with him - had to have, it's twice as long now as he used to be tall. Sheath and all."

"Grow," Vergil mumbled incoherently. "Never ... gonna grow ... keep ... falling down the stairs ... head ... ow ..."

He curled up in a ball and held his head in his hands as if he really had just hit it.

"Strange... though fitting," Cindy murmured.

As much as she would have liked it not to have grown with him, at least it made sense. Looking over her shoulder again she sighed.

"I don't think he's fully awake... I'll show him after he wakes up.. unless I wake him up," Cindy added the last part as an afterthought.

Earendil grimaced. "It sounds like you might want to, from the way he's acting," he murmured. "Either he's dreaming, or he has no idea that he even grew."

He honestly had no idea which it might be. He had never seen anyone like this before.

Vergil whimpered again. It wasn't just his head that was hurting, it was his whole body ...

Cindy sighed and nodded, "Sounds like it too..."

She left the door open and made her way back into the room, because it sounded like she shouldn't put it off. Though it also sounded like he would need a good soak to try and ease the ache. Carefully bending over and shook Vergil's shoulder gently.

"Vergil, time to wake up."

Vergil flinched at Cindy's touch.

"Not sleepin'," he mumbled. "I's jus' tryin' to get up ..."

Even though he clearly wasn't.

Cindy sighed, it seemed that Vergil was very out of it and she wondered exactly how hard he his head and if he would need to get that checked over.

"You're in bed Vergil," Cindy told him hoping that might get some sense into him.
