It wasn't long before Kai had set about his next wild Pokémon battle, with the high aim of trying to level up Turtwig as much as possible before heading toward Oreburgh city and it's rock gym. With that Starly defeated Turtwig was feeling pretty confident, but it appeared the bird had friends to call upon after it fainted, with another Starly- even angrier than the last after seeing its allies condition, emerged from the brush flapping its wings and tossing sand into Turtwig's face. Needless to say, the battle had already begun, but not to Turtwig's advantage.

"Sand-attack, huh? That lowers accuracy... " Kai muttered, recalling his studies on local Pokémon and their most popular moves. "Looks like we have no time to lose, then. Turtwig, tackle!"

Bustling forward with a quick "Wig.", Turtwig tried to slam himself into this Starly, managing to get contact but only just, dealing decent damage. The Starly raised itself into the air, before again whipping up nearby sand for sand-attack move, causing Turtwig's accuracy to lessen even further. "It's trying to make hurting it as difficult as possible- not good." the white haired trainer commented, looking around instinctively for any sort of aid in terrain- but apart from tall grass, this area was pretty devoid of anything really. "Alright then... Turtwig use withdraw!"

Jumping back a bit, the small Pokémon toughened its shell- Starly's attacks were most likely only going to be physical, so increasing Turtwig's defence in this battle would be vital if it really was going to drag on against him. Starly, noticing it's opponent was starting to go on the defensive, prepped for an attack, leaving Kai wondering how exactly he was going to pull this off.

The two grunts exchanged glances, and then glared back at Keegan and Althena. "Seviper, get that stupid duck with your Poison Tail!" called the first.

"Sludge Bomb, Swalot! And make it a good one!" shouted the second.

The Fang Snake Pokemon began to slither forward, hissing menacingly as the Poison Bag Pokemon seemed to inflate itself in preparation for its attack. Its long whiskers quivered and it opened its mouth, firing a relatively strong blob of sludge at the offending Golduck. Very much not wanting to get hit by that, Althena sidestepped, planning to counterattack with a Disable but before she could even try she found herself dodging a swing from the Seviper's glowing tail. The grunts called for the same two attacks and again the Golduck had to really work to avoid the moves, though she had to admit that the Seviper was a lot more annoying than the Swalot. Keegan frowned, knowing that Althena couldn't keep this up forever, and he decided that the Water-type could use some backup. He unhooked a sphere from his belt and let it fly, watching with satisfaction as Loki rose up, flaring his hood and baring his fangs. Both opposing Pokemon were frozen in their tracks for a second as they were taken in by the Arbok's intimidating presence, though they soon shook it off and went back on the attack.

"Seviper! Attack that pathetic snake with your Crunch attack!" the Seviper-grunt shouted. The Seviper narrowed its eyes and shot towards Loki, mouth gaping open as it prepared to sink its fangs into the Arbok.

Loki didn't appear all that impressed by being called pathetic, and he glanced back at Keegan, looking offended. "Ignore them, Loki," Keegan said, dismissing the comment with a wave of his hand, and he smirked. "Besides, you're bigger. Show 'em what a real Crunch is like." Elated by his trainer's words, Loki shot forward as well, a look of malice etched on his face as he lunged at his target, his fangs tearing into the Seviper's flesh just behind its head. Angered, the Seviper attacked right back, also landing a relatively strong hit against the Arbok though it now knew that it was outmatched in both size and speed. Loki reared back and bit into his foe again, though this time his fangs were glowing with a pale, frosty hue. The icy bite left shards of actual ice on the Seviper's body, and it howled in pain, swinging its bladed tail around and catching Loki in the side of the head with a Poison Tail, though the damage was minimal.

Now that she no longer had the Seviper to worry about, Althena could focus solely on the annoying Swalot in front of her. It had now lobbed three consecutive Sludge Bombs at her, all of which had been dodged by the agile Golduck. Having had enough of that attack for a lifetime, the Golduck raised a glowing finger and pointed it at the Poison-type, finally able to use Disable to put an end to the Sludge Bombs. The Poison Bag Pokemon appeared to be quite confused as to why it could no longer recall what move it was using. Its trainer called out for it to use something else, and the Pokemon shifted forward slightly, its body sinking low to the ground. Althena got into a defensive stance, not entirely sure of what might happen next. Suddenly, with a surprising display of jumping ability, the Swalot rocked upwards, its two yellow whiskers trailing at its sides like banners. Its mouth was upturned in a grin as it reached the peak of its jump and began to descend rapidly, intending on putting the hurt on Althena with a heavyweight Body Slam.
=====
Miharu raised an eyebrow as Jasper appeared to be studying her for some unknown reason, but she couldn't help but smile a bit when he tried to explain the situation. She also caught sight of the golden bird soaring above their heads, and she blinked in confusion, having never seen a Pidgey with that colouring before. "Uh, sure," she answered, still trying to watch the bird for a moment or two before she looked back to Jasper, having expected him to ask for her assistance. "We'll find it in no time, I'm sure."

She stood up, taking her PokeDex from her bag before slinging it over her shoulder, and she checked the entry for Totodile in case it would be any help in locating the missing Water-type. "Do you know which way it went?" she asked, glancing around the area for any signs of a little gator with razor sharp teeth.

Amy let out a small huff of breath, wandering aimlessly through the suddenly bright city in her contest garb. The lights of the buildings and stores still open contrasted heavily with the thick blanket of darkness night offered; Cherrygrove had never been this bright, had it?

Her mind harked back to the kindly old woman who gave her the costume she now wore, Eliza. She was supposed to come back to the store and tell Eliza all about the contest. Amy felt a flutter in her chest, not quite ready to recall her loss. Nonetheless, she began to head to the shop, awkwardly moving in her kimono. Both her dress and this kimono weren't best for running or jumping or doing other things she might need to do later on; she'd need to get a change in wardrobe soon.

The shop, simply dubbed 'Eliza's,' was dark, but the door was wide open. Amy hesitantly crept in, looking for any signs of life in the main area. Feeling like she was intruding, the girl had the urge to leave, but someone must've been here if the door was wide open. And Amy wasn't about to let the nice woman get robbed. But she certainly couldn't catch a criminal in these clothes...

In perhaps her stupidest moment of the day, Amy slipped into the dressing room section, which was a simple stall or two offering a lock-able door and an opportunity to change in and out of clothing while trying it on. The area was darker than the rest of the shop, since the light from outside didn't reach it, but the Maple girl never was afraid of the darkness.

As she slipped back into her dress, Amy was filled with a sudden sense of dread. Her muscles tensed, and her breathing stopped short. She was terrified to make a sound. Why? Because there was something else in the store with her, and it was coming closer.

The footsteps were heavy, the breathing was labored and erratic, and the darkness seemed to suffocate her. Amy found herself clutching Flora's Pokeball with such strength she feared it would break. The footsteps stopped outside the dressing rooms.

Amy looked through the crack between the door and the wall. A single eye stared right back at her, and most likely due to the darkness, it seemed to be a pitch black. Her heart thundered. The knob on the door seemed to be turning.

Abruptly, the breathing of whatever was on the other side of the door grew quicker. There was a hesitant footstep back and then it turned and fled the building, running with a speed greater than the labored breaths would've implied. Amy watched as it ran into the bright city, brushing past a silhouette in the doorway. A second later, the silhouette began to chase after it.

Amy didn't know what was happening, but she thought that the second being, the one in the doorway, had saved her. Saved her from what, she didn't know and she didn't want to. The girl released the breath she had been holding and released her only available Pokemon. She wished for an entire team at the moment, if only to feel safe with six strong Pokemon surrounding her. But Flora wordlessly picked up the tension in the air and coaxed her out of the dressing room, leaving only the kimono behind.

Amy ran to the PokeCenter as fast as her dress allowed, Pokemon on her heels. She never looked back. And she didn't stop running until she was in the safety of her brightly lit room, refusing to spend any more time in the darkness.

Riza could see the look of frustration on David's face, and the raven haired girl couldn't hold back a smile. Taunt had always been one of Akima's best tactics, as she was very good at making her opponents very angry with her, and thus leading them into making a lot of reckless attacks. This time David had his Wartortle stick to a simple Water Gun attack, and Riza almost felt bad for how painfully easy it was for Akima to dodge it. "Counter with a Faint Attack," Riza called, watching with a smile as the Sneasel did a bit of a twirl before vanishing in a puff of dark smoke. Still twirling, she reappeared behind the Wartortle and lashed out with her claws, slashing at the Turtle Pokemon's vulnerable arms.

"Water Gun, now!" David shouted, and the turtle spun around and unleashed a solid stream of water right into Akima's face.

The Sneasel staggered back, a bit shaken but quite able to continue, and Riza knew that a direct hit like that would really hurt her points even if the attack hadn't been all that damaging. Riza snuck a peek at the clock, frowning when she saw that they had already used up half of their time. She also chanced a glance at the scoreboard, frowning again when she saw that David was currently ahead in points, though by not that much. Riza knew she'd have to play this carefully if they wanted to win, as unfortunately for Akima, she couldn't take too many hits, physical or special.

This time David had his Wartortle perform a Water Pulse, and the Turtle Pokemon hunkered down before unleashing the ring of pulsating water at the Sneasel. Riza's eyes lit up, an idea that could potentially score her a lot of points if it was executed properly popping into her mind. "Akima, use Icy Wind on that Water Pulse, then jump into the ring!" she called. Akima gave a nod, already taking in a deep breath before exhaling a blast of frigid air at the watery ring, already running forward to meet it. As predicted, the ring of water froze solid, though before it could crash to the ground Akima leaped into the middle of it. The Sneasel had an idea of her own of how to finish this set up, and her fists glowed with power as she smashed the ice ring into itty bitty bits with a dual-handed Brick Break. The ring shattered upon impact and shards of sparkling ice shot out in all directions, glinting off the Sneasel's sharp claws and once again giving a beautiful effect around the ice and dark-type.

Nell continued to snuggle happily against Katie's shoulder, occasionally batting at the girl's long, orange ponytail. Katie thanked the kind nurse as she took back her three poke balls and put them back in their places, picturing each of the Pokemon Mai listed off in her mind. "Wow, you have quite a lot of awesome Pokemon," she commented, though at that point she blinked and had to do a double take. "Wait, did you say Aerodactyl?" she asked, completely floored. "No way you have one of those, they're extinct!"

Nell had climbed up onto Katie's head as the girl folded her arms across her chest and glared up at Mai, almost not hearing the offer of training as she was still very skeptical of the possibility of Mai owning such a rare Pokemon. "Training sounds good," she said, still eying the woman suspiciously. "In fact, I'd be willing to skip the ice cream altogether if it meant I got to see your other Pokemon that much sooner."

There was no way that they could escape all those bubbles and Turtwig would get extra lucky as only a few did not hit the poor Cranidos. The grass starter managed to land a critical hit on the headbutt pokemon. Said pokemon let out a pained cry as it stumbled away a bit before recovering and taking off into the relative safety of the sort of lessoning sandstorm and behind the floating rocks.

Seeing his hurt pokemon Roark grit his teeth in frustration. This was not good, the grass starter had managed to only land one good hit and they were already this hurt, plus the protection from the storm was ending, or it would be ending soon. "Cranidos hide and use Focus Energy!" Roark ordered after a second of thought. It would be best if they gathered their strength now so that when the storm ended they were ready to go into an all out frontal assault.

The ancient pokemon nodded and doing his best he took off ignoring the aching pain through his whole body. Once he was sure he was out of the immediate sight of the Turtwig he lept onto one of the boulders and laid down low. He hated fighting grass types like this, though it did remind him of his past life in the jungle. Still those attacks hurt a lot and he wasn't to happy about this. Laying low Cranidos took a deep breath feeling his mind becoming more focused and his irritation at the grass type fading away.

Robin listened with wide blue eyes as she munched away at her plate. Next to her Luffy was on his third plate as Tony Tony just kept handing him more. They had to make it to Eterna? Where was that? Robin really had no clue seeing as she wasn't very good at studying maps or anything. Was it far away? It was getting kinda late and if she had to go far she probably would fall asleep on her feet. Still if her master wanted her to go there then she would go there without complaint. "How far is it Master?" Robin asked between bites.

Tony Tony eyed her for a moment looking for something before he answered. "It is a bit far, you have to head north through Ravaged Path then north through Floaroma Town. Then north of that is Eterna Forest. If you get through that you should be able to get to Eterna City. "

Wow that did sound pretty far! She would be lucky if she made it there by midnight by the sounds of it. It would be even later if she ran into any trainers, good thing at night most of them headed home. "Can we finish eating before we go?"

"Of course you can, though just Black*Star and Ace will be traveling with you for this little trip."

"What? Why aren't they coming with me!" Robin wasn't to happy about that little bit of information. They just did that little bit of team building and now they were being separated again.

"They will be traveling with Ampersand. You need to train those two up so that they can take on the gym leader." Was all that Tony Tony offered in explination. "Now finish up you all have a long night ahead of you."

Somehow, the laughter never came. Scarlet and Cindy were instead awkwardly watching, both wincing as the Kirlia’s little fists battered that poor, poor pokemon trainer. It was an awful situation, and Scarlet was wondering if Jett would even be alive if this were a Machoke they were dealing with.

In the mean time, Halibel’s single visible eye stared hard at the Kirlia. She was a little sad that she didn’t get to introduce herself to the odd creature in front of her, but judging by the fact that said creature was beating the holy everloving crap out of the black haired human, the Magikarp figured it could wait. It instead directed its attention to the Quilava, letting out a “Karp,” a single syllabic “Uhhh…?”

Cindy had no clue how to respond to the question. Instead, crimson eyes looked up at the fish. The Volcano Pokemon barked a couple of times. Super long story. Tell you later.

The party of three sort of sat there until Jett recalled his angry telepathic death machine. “Uhhhhhh, sure, buddy. Let’s go buy stuff.”

Scarlet figured this was more than enough drama for Halibel’s little “hi” moment, and he immediately recalled his red-orange fish into the joyful confines of its pokeball.

Jett beamed at his friend, nodding once before heading outside to the PokeMart. The small Mart wasn't too far away, and Jett's good spirits carried him there in a quick stride. As he entered the building, his feet still carried him forward with a sense of purpose; he knew exactly what he would get. The male swiftly began to shift through the TMs and HMs.

"Aha," he murmured, collecting the off-white disc from its place. He headed towards the counter. Athena can get Aerial Ace, Aerosmith can get Flash, and River gets... He felt a pang of guilt for not even thinking about getting the Psychic her-- his, he chastised himself, own TM.

River gets a new gender, a voice in his head chuckled, and Jett scowled as he placed the HM Flash disc on the counter. He paid the $2000 cheerfully; the ample amount of money he had just won covered the move easily. In fact, Jett decided he would get River a good TM or something when they got to Goldenrod, where they had everything. He could certainly afford it, especially if he challenged Bugsy beforehand.

After leaving the store, Jett waited for Scarlet in case his friend was buying something. When the redhead returned, the boy smiled.

"So, to Newbark, then?" he asked, turning towards the direction of the route they would go down. After a few minutes of walking, Jett spoke again, "So uh, since you said you wanted a Rock or Electric-type first, I take it you don't want to take on Falkner just yet. But what about Bugsy? I'm sure Cindy alone could hold her own against him..."
PostPosted: Sun Feb 27, 2011 9:53 pm

While Jett was off buying himself Flash, Scarlet and Cindy were looking at their own stuff. He knew that there wasn’t much he could do for Halibel just yet, but he DID check out the poison section to give his Gastly something to work with. He specifically laid eyes on Sludge Bomb. “… This is super cool. It’s freakishly strong, it hits all the time, assuming we’re fighting like a tree or something, and it’s got a pretty good chance to poison stuff. We should get this for Terumi. … After we stop losing so many battles and start stomping other trainers into the ground and taking their hard earned money, since it costs way more than we've got right now. What do you think?”

The trainer glanced over at his Quilava. However, she was busy in the fire TM section. Specifically, she was staring at Fire Blast, which was probably the strongest fire type move without horrible strings attached. Her eyes were wide, her jaw was near the ground. The five pronged flaming explosion of death on the TM’s cover looked really sweet too.

By the time Jett found the pair, both of them were near drooling over what they'd probably have to sell a kidney for. “Huh? Oh. Um. Yeah, we can head to New Bark.”

As for the gym challenge? “Falkner? Nah. I’d be lucky if I could hit him as of now. I just like planning this sorta thing out. But Bugsy? Heh. Cindy and Terumi’ll do really well, I think.”

Bug moves were as close to useless as possible against the poisonous ball of gas, so he’d be able to soak up quite a few hits while dealing some pretty serious status damage against the Bug Type leader. And Cindy. Well. She was really good at shooting things with fireballs, so ember would do really nicely.

“I guess I’d prefer to head to him after we leave New Bark.”

Jett noticed his companion's choice in TM, while Cindy seemed geared towards something different. They'll all become quite fearsome someday, he thought to himself, glad for his friendship with the fiery redhead and his literally fiery Quilava partner.

"So we have a plan," Jett agreed as the two neared Violet City's exits. There was a long road ahead of them, but it seemed like the way back to something offered quicker routes, like ledges to jump over that made a neat little shortcut. "Well, you totally should fight Bugsy fought. We could alternate with that sorta thing. And I totally wanna see if Athena evolves soon..."

"Will we see your family?" Jett asked suddenly, continuing onto Route 31. "I mean, you live in Cherrygrove, don't you? And we'll be passing by there?" It occurred to Jett that he knew little to nothing about Scarlet, save for his team and his compulsive need to battle every trainer he happened upon. Which would, in hindsight, slow them down considerably if the roads were crowded today.

Nonetheless, Jett was up for battle, and he felt bad for neglecting Aerosmith. Come what may, he decided, and we'll handle it.

Scarlet walked beside his partner, fingers interlocked behind his head, whistling to himself as Jett made his propositions. “Huh? Oh, you mean Noctowl? It’s pretty awesome. I knew this guy in elementary school who would put people who ticked him off to sleep with one. Then he’d use nightmare. It was awful but really funny at the same time.”

Then Jett reminded him and Cindy of the bad place.

“…”

Both the pokemon and her trainer stopped in their tracks, and both of them managed to facepalm. “… Is there like another way to New Bark or something? … Like. Are you sure you didn’t get the badge for Fly already? It’d be really sweet if you got the badge for Fly already. Cause I’ve totally been to New Bark, and I could just… Yeah, we get to see my family…”

Scarlet was perfectly fine while the boy went on and on, but the air seemed to grow colder when the mention of family came up. Jett slowly looked to his companion, raising a raven brow as they continued along the route.

"We don't have to see them," he said lightly, "I definitely wouldn't want to see my family." Not until I'm ready, he finished in his head. The male absent-mindedly released Aerosmith, allowing the Butterfly Pokemon to fly along with them. He figured Aerosmith was feeling a bit cooped up in there, anyways.

"Fly," Aerosmith grumbled, but didn't demand much else as he drifted along with his trainer and that new person with the fire thing. He knew that he wouldn't have been much use against a Flying-type leader, so he let the Falkner issue go for now.

"At least tell me about them?" Jett asked, hopping down a ledge with the angry Bug/Flying-type in tow.

Jasper couldn't help but feel a bit relieved when Miharu agreed to help him look, though he also couldn't help but wonder if it would reflect poorly upon him in the eyes of Professor Elm. He shrugged the thought away - it wasn't as if asking for help wasn't allowed. Even still, he smiled appreciatively at the girl. "Thanks," he said, nodding. "I'm sure this'll be a lot easier with your help. That little Totodile is a handful." He rolled back the sleeve of his jacket and examined his arm before showing it to Miharu. "Luckily the teeth didn't break through, but the pure pressure of it bruised me up good." His forearm was sporting a painful-looking bruise that was curiously half-moon shaped and would easily match the jaw of the missing Totodile. He rolled his sleeve back and pointed to the open window from which the gator had jumped out. "It got out through there, but I don't think it could have gotten far. Any ideas?" he asked, looking over at the younger girl and now realizing that her brown-haired friend wasn't with her. "Where's your friend?"

After about ten more minutes of walking, Hayley and her two Pokemon arrived in Viridian City. She'd since recalled both of them into their respective Pokeballs as Cynder's feet had begun to drag with weariness of their trek and Mya was still a little weak from being roasted by the aforementioned Charmander. The Pokemon Center was easy to find, as Hayley had been to Viridian several times before, having been sent on errands by her parents. The brunette smiled fondly as she recalled the various trips she'd made back and forth. Even though the route hadn't ever been that dangerous her adoptive father had always made her bring his trusty Growlithe with her as protection. The Puppy Pokemon made for an effective bodyguard, scaring away any would be attackers with its mighty Roars.

Hayley had never needed to use the Center before, at least for Pokemon-related reasons, but despite this she sauntered right up to the front desk wearing a cheerful smile that could rival the Mayor of Happytown. "Hello!" she said brightly, placing her two Pokeballs on the counter. "My Rattata and Charmander need healing. Could you treat them?" she asked, inching the two spheres forward. Hayley was sure she could feel Cynder's Pokeball shake violently after she spoke - how dare she list that inferior Mouse Pokemon before him!

The nurse in charge of the center returned Hayley's bright smile, and took both spheres. "Yes, of course, that's what we're here for," she said, turning and placing the Pokeballs in a machine. She pressed a few buttons and it whirred to life, and she looked back to Hayley. "A Charmander, did you say? You must have just left Pallet Town," she observed. "Did Professor Oak give you that Charmander?" she asked.

Hayley nodded, her eyes glued to the machine that was currently healing her Pokemon. "Yes, he did," she answered, still nodding. "I am a new trainer, but not like the others. My Charmander and I have been together for a while now, but we only decided to leave home this morning. I've been sort of an aide for Professor Oak over the past few years, and I plan to become a famous Pokemon Watcher."

The nurse smiled again and nodded. "That sounds wonderful," she said, removing the Pokeballs from the machine as the healing cycle was completed. "Here you are, your Pokemon are fully healed. We hope to see you again!"

"Thank you!" Hayley said, accepting the two spheres and putting them right back onto her belt. "I'm sure I'll be back at some point." She waved before practically running out of the Pokemon Center.

“Well. I mean, there’s my mom,” Scarlet started, hopping a ledge. “She’s pretty cool, but sorta clingy. I was gonna head out with Cindy when I was twelve, but she was super sure that a Rhydon would eat me. Barely managed to convince her to let me go.”

Cindy followed pretty close behind, distracted by the release of the Beautifly. But she got over how it looked pretty quick, instead rushing toward Cherrygrove with an added quickness.

“Then I’ve got a sister, um, Rose. She’s pretty little, but my dad’s trying to get her an um. Um. Chimchar, I think. She wants to be League Champion, a gym leader, contest champ, and the greatest pokemon researcher ever.” Scarlet smiled a bit. It was super adorable, but he wouldn’t be shocked if she managed to pull it off.

“My dad does some professory stuff. I don’t honestly know exactly what it is he does, but he’s got a lot of super cool pokemon. Right now, he’s off in Sinnoh. How about your family? I mean, I know you said you didn’t wanna see yours, but they can’t be that bad…”
PostPosted: Mon Feb 28, 2011 9:05 pm

"They sound like an interesting bunch," the male replied quietly, before Scarlet asked his own question. Jett almost winced, but he should've expected the question. After all, he had asked Scarlet about his family; it was only polite that Scarlet would ask him the same. The male continued forward, grateful for the empty roads save for the occassional Pokemon scurrying off into the trees or bushes.

"My family moves around a lot," he said, suddenly fascinated with the way the light caught Aerosmith. "My mom and dad really like to explore, so they're always on the move and stuff. It's cool, I guess, because my siblings told me they could get neat items every once and a while. Makes for fun holidays." He licked his lips. "My brothers and sister and I, we sort of have this competition. Actually, my whole family has it, but we keep it between us for now. We're trying to see who the best trainer is among us, so it's like this ever-rising and falling ladder of strength."

"My brother Darryl is super strong," Jett continued, "but he's third-strongest out of the four of us. And Allan is really smart, but we don't really talk much... and Terra is like the ace. She's the best, hands down. I don't know where any of them are. Which is supposed to be part of the surprise... the idea that any one of us could meet at any given moment." He exhaled a huge breath of air, like he had been explaining the same system over and over. Whenever he said it out loud, Jett realized how strange the system sounded, but it was something to do. It would certainly help all of the Forrest members to become better, well-rounded trainers.

"So, uh, yeah," he finished lamely, completely unable to think of another question to ask the redhead.

I don't know what is up with this grimer. It stood back up from Zii's attack. Well, lets see how strong he is. Zii and I can endure a lot of pain and for long moments of time. This grimer... eats crap all day. He has a mighty Zii as his opponent!

Zii jumps on the wall behind him and rockets himself toward the grimer. Zii slashes once more as that purple shield appears again. Zii's claws are creating sparks which light up the tunnel. The shield is strong. But, it soon vanishes as the grimer's hand, or what looks to be his hand rises up and smashes Zii against the ceiling with a pound. I blink a few times as something seems to be fogging my eyes. But the tears seem to crawl through the gunk in my eyes.

Zii slams a claw into the ceiling of the tunnel and slingshots himself at the grimer once more. The grimer again recoils as the purple shield appears. But, this time the shield shatters. Zii used quick attack and the grimer did not pull the shield up quick enough.

I cough.

The grimer is pushed against the wall once more and Zii stands off to my left getting ready for another slash attack. I press the button on a fresh pokeball and it enlarges in my hand. The grimer stands up once more and begins swaying back and forth. Is it weak or is it trying to hypnotize us? I did not think grimers had hypnotize. But, that is not important. I throw the ball and it bounces off the grimer's forehead... or what looks to be his forehead.

The grimer is enveloped in red light and the ball closes around it. The ball twitches once, and then twice. It twitches a third time and the light vanishes on the ball. Zii smiles at me, as this was my official first pokemon battle in which I caught a pokemon. I smile back and nod my head. I raise my hand in victory. I look to grimer's ball with a smile, and in no time I suddenly find my eyes looking at the floor.

I think I slipped on something. I see Zii looking at me in a panic. He picks me up. His fur is so warm. He's running very fast. I'm getting so dizzy from the walls passing me so quickly. I'm going to sleep. Zii wake me up when we get home.

It only took a few hours to reach Viridian City. My mind hurts due to no sustenance. This occurred to me many minutes ago. No, it occurred many hours ago. The city itself is mediocre in size. I've known for many years the size of every city out there; From the Kanto region to Johto.

It does not take me long to find the Poke Center. It's a very large building. Knowing what the Center looks like is not a feat, even non-trainers know what this building looks like. It's very articulate to the city. All streets seem to merge onto it's main attraction. It's actually and amazing sight. But, my reasons of saying this will remain in my mind. I need to get Mach some food, and healed. Afterward, I can get some food into my stomach. Perhaps I can do both at the same time.

"Hello sir, I am Nurse Joy. Have you received too much sun?"

I blink and realize I was staring at the desk of Nurse Joy. I place Mach's ball on the desk and she takes it with a kind smile. Oddly enough, I did not even realize I entered the Poke Center. Maybe I should get some food as soon as I can.

Nurse Joy takes Mach's ball and places it onto the healing unit. The ball literally glows and dims. Nurse Joy hands me the ball and smiles. She's very cute in her own way. I'd ask her out, but I do not feel like dating someone that looks identical to many others in this world. I feel I've seen her once before. Plus, she's a bit old for me. It's funny how girls flock around me, but none of them seem right for me. I feel like a male protagonist in a girl's shojo harem manga.

If I was, the writer has got to be insane. But, this is not important. My thoughts are trailing around in oblivion. I then smell something delicious. I look to my right and smile as a Chansey is handing me a plate with four rice balls on it. She even brought me some orange juice. That's nice of her. I take it and sit down a little to the side of the main desk. Nothing is stopping me from eating this deliciousness, not even common logic to get off the floor.
