"Fortitude guys go first?" one vampire suggested. Another nodded. Two of the vampires stepped forward and slammed into Fyrin, knocking him back. They showed little damage from the fire.

Fyrin bounced off the elevator shaft wall like a rubber ball, but he landed more gracefully. Gathering force, he tossed a large fireball at the wall, hoping to blow open a pathway to the external surfaces of the building. If only there had been some way to get in quietly without being seen. Oh well.

The fireball scorched the wall.
It occurred to Fyrin that he would have to wait a while to burn a hole through the wall.

((No explosive fireballs? but i thought...))
Fyrin grimaced at himself and performed a detonation similar to the one he had performed against the vampire upstairs.

((Fireballs with explosions are generally just waves of air and rapidly expanding fire. The explosion is... weak at best with straight fire.))
A chunk of the wall collapsed, exposing a bank of shaded windows with a hallway running along the outside of the building.

"Go!" Fyrin shouted, backing up slowly while his men sprinted free. He cast another detonation at the banks of glass so as to shatter himself a safe haven.

A rain of glass shards began to slice at high speeds into the civilians below the building as Fyrin and his men made their escape.

Finding an old car in a bad-looking neighborhood, Joe looked around. Satisfied they were clear, he smashed the window and climbed in. He unlocked the other door for Jacob. He began to hotwire the car. "See if I remember how to do this..." It had been years. Still, it was like riding a bike. After a few minutes, he had it. They began to drive to the edge of town.

((They're not leaving the building.
Also, I might have to leave soon.))
Fyrin caught the glass before it hit the ground. He wasn't that stupid.
He kept moving down the hallway, looking for some better opening.

As tends to happen, Joe ended up right beside a police officer at a stoplight.

Fyrin heard alarms from dozens of sources; the whole building knew they were there.

Okay. Their presence was known. That was not entirely unintentional. It still raised problems, but there were ways it could be done. Theoretically. He needed a distraction. What kind of distraction could he get? A soul, he needed a soul, to latch onto anything. Anything at all. He needed a dead body, but how was he gonna get that done?
Did the vampires have a room full of dead bodies? They had to drink somebody's blood, and those people probably didn't survive, or at least some. That would be a good place to start a fighting force.

((Joe just has the worst ******** luck!))
He did not look over and did not act suspicious. He pretended to talk with Jacob until the light changed.
