*Gouken still had both eyes on the blades and the hands that turned them, so he luckily noticed the tilt of Shinigami's wrist. If he had not been paying atention, his leg would be useless. Instead, he shifted his position so the sword left a shallow gash just short of his tendons. Gouken, of course, did not feel the pain because of his being centered, so he kept on moving with the same dance-like grace that Shin was using.

He watched Shin crouch and grinned; a foolish mistake to make when the other man was still standing. Gouken lifted the leg that had been slashed and curled it, aiming his heel to strike downward on Shin's wrist to make a clean break. With the swing of Shin's arm and blade, it would be near impossible to stop and raise the blade to make an attack on the incoming leg.

As this was going on, Gouken hopped off the ground, using his upward shift to rip his sword from the ground. With both feet off the ground, one aiming for Shin's wrist, he used the other to make a violent snap kick at Shin's chin. Combining the speed of the kick with the amount of time it would take Shin to rip up his other sword, it wouldn't be possible for him to block, unless he released his grip on the hilt of his blade.*

*Gouken was not expecting the lunge forward, but he did feel his foot fall short which inidicated the movement. Still keeping his eyes on the two blades, he watched as Shin pulled the one from the ground out and swung it towards his leg. Given a good amount of time to act, Gouken twists his wrist and spins the sword in his fingers slightly, slashing in a downward arc to knock Shin's blade away with ease.

His eyes catch the flash and he gasps slightly for a moment, until he notices it is lightning. The fool obviously did not know the orientations of a Purgatorial Demon. As the lightning struck him, it covered his body, turning from the gren to a blackish colour and dissipating into his flesh. Now, there was an advantage. Gouken's leg, pushed back by the thrust, was still pointed towards Shin with his foot resting on his opponent's ribs. With contact already made, Gouken easily shoved with the leg, causing Shin to be pushed backwards. Using the moment of peace, Gouken uses a portion of his chi to set up a strong barrier, good for protecting against moderate elemental atacks. That made for one more thing Gouken did not have to think about.*

*Gouken's eyes widen slightly as the spears of ice fly towards her, a deadly rain of sharpened frozen water. Using some of the chi he was still using to put up his shield, he flowed a simple fire spell into his breath. He huffed outwards with a blast of intense heat, causing the ice to melt before it even came close to him. The burst of flame continued outwards, carried with the air towards Shin quite quickly.

With the attack diverted, he finishes weaving the shield around himself. He pulled out a kunai from his back pouch once again, and muttered a quick power divert in the Demon tongue.*

"Garrah'shomien torrak dohrieht..."

*The kunai seemed to shudder and flash black, but it was hard to notice. It soon looked as normal as could be. Gouken grinned menacingly, and in the confusion of the fire screaming towards Shin, he hurled the kunai. It was not aimed at Shin, but instead it struck the ground by his feet. If one would notice such a thing, it had pierced his shadow. Slowly, the shadow multiplied, and two exact copies of shin, black and opaque, rose beside their originator, raising their swords at him in a ready stance. As they come into existence, Gouken weaves a strong shield around them, preventing anyone but him from banishing them back to the shadow world.*

"Do not let their appearance be a mistake with your judgement, they are quite solid..."

Shiouji entered the dojo quietly, listen to the sounds of the battle already in progress. Not stopping to watch or anything, he moved down the hall to the second arena. "It's been a while since I've done this. Better stretch." Shiouji set down his armaments and went through the necessary motions, strecthing his arms, back, neck, but paying special attention to his legs. Speed was everything in his style of fighting and he needed to move quickly. Removing his coat, he did some light exercises. Jumping, jogging, and some mild gymnastics. After a short while, he felt ready. Sitting down, he readied himself mentally, going through the motions in his mind first.

°¤° Shinigami grimaces as the flames rush him. His own barrier casts the flames around him, diverting them so that his skin remains safe from the searing fire. The heat however was something else, he was too close to try and ward that part of the attack off. It crashed over his body, causing his eyes to tear and crumpling slightly below the blast of the attack, too late he noticed the kunai. He spun around in a desperate attempt to deflect it, but he turned around just in time to see it pierce his shadow. Wiping his eyes on his sleeve to try and see clearly, he stepped to the side, making sure he guard his back if Gouken rushed him... but he was more intent on the hellish figures that rose from his shadow and then took his own form.

This purgatory Son of a B*tch had just called up twin shadow warriors of himself. They say that the person hardest to face in life is yourself. That brought a twisted smile to the elf's pallid lips, he would take a grim pleasure in destroying the imposters. His mistress was a fire shadow demon. He had grown up with her and trained by her side. When they worked under their father as a mercenary team, Certain precautions had been taken to make sure that her attacks would not harm him. He glanced down at his twin blades and sure enough they were pulsating with a dark aura. Sierra's wards were reacting to the shadow demons. It was her kind of magic and the wards recognized them readily. Shinigami also knew from working with Sierra so long that darkness despises the light.

He leers at the carbon copies of himself and a green light blazes to life beneath his feet. His spell circle was much like Sierra's in how it formed, but the symbols woven within in it were completely different. Chanting in a a strange and eerie tongue, Gouken might recognize it as the ancient elvish tongue his fiancee often whispered when casting a spell. But the language that Sierra recited as melodioisly as if it were poetry, sounded harsh and gutteral in the dark elf's deep voice.
°¤°

"Anari lionna mresh'ain kyuusten kresh'aind'a'lin"

°¤° 8 orbs of light lept from the elf's hands. The demon entity that Shinigami played host to was not within him unless it possessed him, and as such the elvish light magics that were a part of his blood would not harm him as they did his lady. 4 orbs flew towards each of the shadow warriors, each one equipped with a spell of 'imprisonment' woven into it's energies. It wasn't exactly the kind of imprisonment spell one would expect, this spell would bind them to the shape they held. The orbs sped toawrds them, One aimed for their fronts and backs, one to attack them from above and one from the left of the left warrior and one from the right of the right warrior. He didn't worry about their other sides, because dodging into the open side would only send them colliding into one another. While he fed the light magic he recited a second spell, and a wall of rock rose behind him, seperating him from Gouken. For Gouken to attack him now he would have to come from above or in front.

Deciding that leaving an aerial attack as an option was too risky when he was outnumbered and letting part of his mind wander to the ethreal plains, he coerces an air demon into agreeing to aide him. A blinding portal opened above the elf's head and a long beast that resembled a cross between a snake and a dragon slithered into a coiled position. It's large wings flapping, kicking up dust while it hovers lounguriously, guarding it's summoner. It's souless eyes watched Gouken with immense intelligence. It would not bother him unless he made a move for the elf. And so it bided it's time wisely, observing the purgatorial demon.

Like the demon above him, Shinigami waited to see how his opponents would react.

*What Shinigami had failed to realize that these shadow beings were exact copies of him. Not only in figure, but in ability and skill as well. It is said that a shadow is an offshoot of the soul, and your soul carries everything with it. These beings were, in all actuality, copies of Shinigami's soul. They did not have his mind though, and did not really think of their own accord. They still drew some needs from him; as long as his mind was intact they could function, but if he lost that then they would be useless shells.

As Shinigami formed the orbs, the Shadows watched and copied his acitons, drawing the magic from themselves. They spole the same spell, wove the same hand motions, everything. Their voices were not the same though, barely audible and sounded as if they were lost on the wind. Their own orbs formed, twice the number of Shin's because they were two entities instead of one. The 12 orbs flew at the elf at suprising speeds; 3 above him, 3 to his sides, 3 to the back and front. They were the same imprisonment spell, even though the shells were not consious of it. Gouken could not monitor the attack because of the earthen wall which had been erected. The shells were overtaken by the spells which were cast by Shinigami quickly engulfed the two Shadow shells, taking on their effect instantly.

Meanwhile, Gouken was left with the problem of getting to Shinigami himself. This conjured creature would have attacked him already if it's intentions were aggrovation, but it might be a guard. The "might" was not something Gouken would take a chance with. He ran through situations in his mind quickly. Shadow and Fire were the elemental magics he had inherited as a demon, and he had practiced many others in his arduous journey to becoming a great fighter. The ones he was most powerful with were Earth and Water, which he had taken up as his main study of Chi in his ninjitsu training. He remembered the flows of Chi he needed for the spell he desired, and began the process of drawing the energies he needed.

He felt the spirit of the Air and Earth flow through him, and he held a hand with index and middle fingers pointing at the sky with his other fingers tucked in neatly and his palm vertical. He opened his eyes as the ground began to rumble and the wall Shin had already set up began to thin out and manipulate. The Earth cracked around his opponent's feet; he could feel his position with his connection to the spirit of the Earth, and the hard rock from below the dirt raised around Shinigami. In a few seconds, a solid cage of rock and dirt had formed and he hoped his opponent was caught inside. He could not feel him since he had cut his connection to the Earth.

Now he was left with the dragon-like creature hovering above where his opponent was situated. He decided quickly what would be a good course of action. He connected himself with the spirits of the Air and the Water, and used the same hand formation he had used with the Earth. The hand formation was really just a concentration technique, and made an easier focal point for his energy weavings. He muttered under his breath, flowing the energy from his body into the moisture in the air around him, performing a complex technique. The miniscule water droplets that lingered in the air changed slightly around his body, reflecting the enviroment around them much more sharply. This made it so any eyes, as sharp as they could be, would pass by him and see only the scenery around him. A complex technique, but ingenious.

Gouken proceeded to quickly open a portal to the abyss below his feet, and a small satchel emerged from it, passing through the water barrier that surrounded him and passing out of view. He stored things in the abyss to be used in fights, sometimes. Things he thought might come in handy. This was one he thought would be quick good against any animals he might encounter, or any mounts another warrior might posess. He slashed the stachel open with a kunai, and tossed it into the air around them, immediately moving away. The bag released a cloud of a very sweet smelling powder into the air, an aroma that was so thick it masked anything else.

The whole arena smelt of this concoction, and the smell would not go away for a few days. Not that it was unpleasant, but it might be an annoyance. If the summoned creature was trying to use smell or sight to find him, it would be dissapointed. He also had his normal psychological blocks and the ones that Sierra had crafted for him up in his mind, preventing and telepathic entrance. Unless it ran right into him, the winged snake wouldn't be able to find him.

He stepped lighter than anything, no sound made by his soft shoes on the ground as he moved quickly towards the stone cage. He intended to find out if the little trick had actually done anything to his opponent.*

A petite, feminine figure entered the dojo with an air of wariness, glassy-blue eyes quickly taking everything before her in. Although the elven female named Peach was a specialist in magic, she worked quite fine with a sword aswell -- you could even say she was more like a red mage in these aspects, although yet less of a melee. Henceforth, she constantly kept a golden-hilted silver sword which held unbreakable diamond on the blade edge, and an engravement of a phoenix and a dragon entwined on the hilt, a glassy-blue gem held between them. She failed to see anyone currently there, but she was determined to prove her worth to the guild.

"If anyone is residing here at this moment, speak now."

She was prepared to wait the course of several days for an opponent to come to her.

*using his dimensional void to hop around roof top to roof top since he had temporarily lost the use of his wings, he happens upon something interesting as he scans over the fighting arena. a young woman, seemingly calling out to anyone that may be in the range of her voice. glancing over her, he notices that she appears to be ready for a fight. whether it be a serious challenge, or a friendly warm up, he stands there, slightly hidden behind a statue on the roof, looking down on her, waiting to see what transpires next*

Hearing no response to her call, Peach promptly sat down upon the dojo floor, and proceeded to drum her fingers impatiently against it. She couldn't of known the young man was hiding over yonder, as the ability to sense spiritual energy was an ability of her phoenix counterpart, which she normally didn't wish to get involved with in her non-death threatening battles. There were plenty of things she could ponder about while waiting, and one such thing was the obvious absense of people in this dojo. Usually isn't that a well occupied place in a guild such as this?

*intently watching the young woman, he becomes unaware that in order to get a better view of her as she is sitting, he has come out from behind his hiding place. standing in plain open view, he keeps his eyes fixed on her as she awaits someone to enter the unusually empty arena. fixed on her, he carelessly stumbles over his own foot and just manages to catch himself from falling, creating quite a sound as he cursed himself for his clumsiness*

Aw dang it!!!
