The rocky slope of the volcano's summit shook violently all around him as he used his powers to the rock out of the ground. Suddenly, pillars of rock jutted out of the earth towering high above Brass, some stood at height above 100 feet. There were seven of them in all ranging in various degrees of height and thickness, each was pefectly shaped like a cylinder in ever possible way. But, instead of sitting back and admiring his handy work, Brass got right to business. Then, with the closing of his fist, the pillars of rock shattered into countless pieces and crumbled back down onto the surface of the summit. However, before they could hit the ground they slowly stopped in mid-air and began to 'orbit' around Brass' form as though he were a planet and they his moons. "....No...not a one gem to be found..."

A single rock fell, bouncing along the ridges until it completed it's journey by falling to the bottom.
The sun was beating down as usual, but the figure seemed unphased. Before him was a massive tower-like structure, unlike anything he'd ever laid eyes on.
Or at least that is what he would have loved to tell himself.
Vahn stood on a small rise of rock and sand, overlooking Babel. His mantle fluttered about on either side of him, yellowed eyes narrowed harshly. His Fang rested along both shoulders, the flamberge ready and willing.
With practice... Vahn had been able to maintain the second form for longer and longer periods of time, draining less and less stamina each time.
"...This is your last chance. None of you has to come with me."

"Mr Kas..."Tellus seemed to swoon under the head but paused and placed a tiny hand on Vahn's shoulder before looking up at him adoringly."... Vahn, it doesn't matter. You do. We are here for you..." She turned and motioned towards Sunstrike but her face was sad where it concerned him. "..and him. We shall do our best by you. Even if it forfeits our lives. It's what friends are for." She giggled slightly then as her fingers combed through her black hair.
"As cheesy as all that sounds, I just really want to kick someone's a** who would dare think about touching my children, capessh?"

The strange eyes met Tellus' concerned ones without hesitation, although the clarity was a little lost. Sunstrike had been abnormally quiet during the whole trip out here, answering only when the conversation was directed towards himself.
"What...like I actually had a choice?" The words were light, but Sun's face was grim as he likewise studied the tower. He was as human as he was going to get for the moment, and the strain was wearing on his mental barriers. "I'm as eager to solve all this as you are, Vahn...and as wrapped up in it now." I can't just...leave you to it, the anxiety would kill me... was the silent, introspective thought.
The reports had spoke of great activity while uncovering the tower, and little to no activity now. Engel, who had rather gruffly met them on the outskirts said that there was a weird "edge" to the air around the place. An expectation that made his people jittery when comming close to it.
Sun would be a liar if he said he didn't feel that same expectancy that hung around the ancient structure. It was like an itch between his shoulder blades that he couldn't get at. And when things start feeling like that, he decided, it was best to go to the source and work on it from there.
"Lets get moving though, I'd hate to be in that place in darkness..."

"...."
Vahn stared up at the tower one last time, before turning and heading down the incline that served as a path. His steps were slightly heavy, and at a fair pace.
Victor... I know you can feel me.
His eyes closed even as he continued making his way down the hill.
I'm coming... and bringing hell with me.
Sunstrike. Tellus. Raven.
The four of them were set... he could only wonder what it is they would find.
Meanwhile...
"They come... just as you predicted." The voice was low, it's owner unseen within the chamber.
"Of course they do." Victor leaned back in his seat, eyes focused at the far wall, where a single stained glass window let in sunlight.
"They have no choice, but to come looking for paradise."

Tellus looked up at the place, wondering what it had in store, for her, for Vahn, for everyone. Everyone thought so much depended on this little adventure. Tellus herself wasn't so sure. She reached into her pocket and grabbed her cellphone and was about to call her children but there was no service, at all.
"You'd think Gaian mobile would be a bit more useful, seeing as how they have meta humans to deal with..." she grumbled. wondering where her children had gotten to. Probably with Fae, she hoped. Slipping the phone back in her pocket, she moved quietly back to Sunstrike. Her hand moved to his skin, to pet him almost in a reassuring manner before finding herself trying to feed off his dormant energy.
zsst...
With a quick snap, she pulled her hand free, but not before Sun would feel something pulled away from him that he wasn't sure was even supposed to be there. She then looked up at him, her eyes fearful before running to catch up to Vahn. "Gods, not again...who this time..."mumbling to herself as she kept her nagamaki at her back, though her hands began to twitch and clutch at the polearm...behind her trailed...glass footprints...
"Vahn, will the children be safe?" She ahd to ask, surely no one would stoop to kidnapping children. She knew her children would be okay, they were more than powerful in their own right, but Victor, he was an unknown factor and the only one who knew him was Vahn.

confused *this place felt all weird...old, the sort of old that Munin normally would have told her to get the hell away from before they were noticed by whatever haunted the place and ended up in way over their heads sweatdrop .... once again Rave found herself a little annoyed that the Lady had decided to leave her on her own, things were just so much easier when you had the knowledge of ages past of your side xp *
*Raven shook it off and smiled that innocent little smile that made people think she had a brain about as big as a birds as she trailed along after the others. Pulling out the blue metal bladed fan and idly fanning herself with the weapon as if it was just an ordinary, if a bit larger, fan*

It was strange, suddenly feeling cold in the desert. Sunstrike's look was a lot sharper as he stared at Tellus, begining to suddenly understand why she may have turned up as she did.
"..." The fearful look made him backtrack a bit, okay now that hurt his feelings a little. But it probably was to be expected. The sequence of events weren't really adding up for him at the moment, his biggest concern being to find out what was going on in the monolith ahead of them. But he did begin to feel more unsettled...
He'd have to deal with the power radiating from that girl, soon enou-
Sunstrike blinked, thought suddenly gone as if it had never appeared, and shrugged, wandering off after Vahn's long strides like a shadow, deep within himself.

The path that led to Babel cut along the ground, becoming less sand and more hewed stone, the farther the group travelled along.
"....."
Vahn stared to the side, looking at the ruins and other effigies which lined the pathway. What were once considered works of art, now nothing but mere garbage. Laid to waste by the sands of time, it looked anything but glorious.
It definitely had an unholy vibe to it.
"They should be... you said they were, didn't you?" He glanced at her, for confirmation.
Even as the sharp edge of a blunt scythe came careening forward for his neck.
From the sides, amongst the rubble and ruined statues, they had come. Forming out of the sand itself, and taking langy humanoid forms, they soundlessly appeared amidst the group, pruple cloaks billowing with the wind that seemed to pick up.
The welcoming party had arrived.

As she saw the scythe fall, her nagamaki came forward, pushing up against the scythe with the polearm. With a pivot and a twist, she pushed it up and away, her back to the attackers and facing Vahn.
"Yeah, well I have some insecurities occassionally." Before turning back and facing the 'welcoming' party.
"...everybody bounce..."
was the only thing that came to mind as she stared at them, not attacking back, only defending till she knew what was going on.

Iris of Obsidian "...everybody bounce..." was the only thing that came to mind as she stared at them, not attacking back, only defending till she knew what was going on. blaugh *Hono couldn't help but to laugh softly at that, it was just too absurd for the situation that they were suddenly facing* Oh my... looks like the royal welcome for us my dears... If I had known we were going to play I would have worn something different twisted *she shifted her stance slightly, getting her feet under her, the fan blade still held loosely, but lower now, ready to shift for a better defense at the first sign that she was in serious trouble*

What the...
"!!!"
Even as both weapons, one to block, the other to kill, came sweeping across the space Vahn occupied, Sun's hand shot out and grabbed the neck of the cloak, yanking down and forceing the unprepared man down into a crouch.
He let go just as quickly as he'd responded, leaving Vahn time to gather himself, and dove to the side, his own weapon moving from low to high diagonally over the blocked scythe, hoping to ram the shaft into a chin of some kind.
"I was kinda wondering if he expected us to just knock..." Came the breathless responce to Tellus' order.

(( Alright, turn order's pretty simple...
Vahn (and any enemies when applicable) Tellus Raven Sun
Victor (when applicable) Lucind (when applicable) Ra'kar (when applicable)
Also, when dealing with encounters... there will usauly be more than one monster or enemy... so if you can, npc the fight. I don't want to have to keep making big posts detailing each and every thing.
Their not pushovers, but neither are you...so, at least make it beleivable, you know?
Also... have fun.))
The shrieking laughter picked up in volume now, as a good fifteen to eighteen of the things now pressed down onto the group.
The creature that had attempted to get the drop on Vahn, now swung it's scythe downwards in a reknewed attempt at slicing into Tellus' back.
The others begun similar motions to the rest of the party.
"--The hell!"
Pulled down and out of the way by Sunstrike, he felt his shoulders shrug the hand off, bringing his Fang upwards in time to block a slice from the side.
Pushing back hard, he broke the hold and lunged forward sharply, stabbing in with his blade. A burst of sand as the creature was wounded, and another shriek, before it simply collapsed back into nothing but sand.
