7 clarinets in concert band, 9 in marching band. Our marching section was much larger years ago, we always had over 30, until a new school was built in the area. Now the band is like, half the size.

There are only 3 flutes this year in our section in Marching Band. Idk how many will be in concert band this year.

only 3 baritones this year crying but we joined up with the other low brass sections and formed a massive group. well more like 10 people but its more than we had

I have a really small band. There are only 5 persussionists, 4 clarinets, 3 flutes, 2 saxes (alto and tenner)i tromone, one french horn, 3 guitars, and one baritone. I go to the school were Green Day went in Middle School, and the High they went o is across the road. My BD always tells us that they started where we are right now, in a small little town ina small little band, so we have to be just as good.. Kind of a bribe if you ask me.

IcEcHiLl_RaMzZy24 me and my 2 best friends call are selfs the amazing baseline because im the only trombone. drea is the only bass clarinet and carly is the only tenor sax. there are no baritones or tubas!!! it sucks being a lone trombone heehee omg I know that feeling but half way through this year i wont anymore cause ill join the symphonic band woot woot in the band im in now the bass line 1 trombone (me) 1 baritone 1 tuba 1 bari sax 1 tenor sax 1 bass clarinet but we lost our contra alto last year in 8th grade oh well next years freshman have a fairly good bass line woot

It's sad how our band is getting smaller year by year.
Well, for us we have three flutes, but one is moving away and it'll be just two flute players. D:

In honor band there are 8 flutes including myself, plus one piccolo (me). Symphonic, there are about 6 flutes, no piccolos; Concert, I think 4 flutes, no piccolos. So 18 total. I only counted honor band flutes on the poll though. At the HS there's probably about 30 flutes in the marching band. I love my section. heart

last year we had 32 flutes...I was a freshman and at my school the freshmen and varsity(everyone above freshmen) are completely separated...we have been told this year that we scared the varsity section because there was 21 freshmen flutes and only 11 sophmores, juniors, and seniors in the flute section
This year we have a grand total of 35 flutes

The breakdown for this year in the flute section is the smallest it's been in years, full of random turmoil. We had the worst attendance during marching season (which sucks), too.
Wind Ensemble: 6 flutes
Symphonic Band: 8 flutes
Marching Season: Started with 15, then one kid broke his collar bone and was out for the season, one went on independent study, and one...just never showed up to rehearsal, school, games, or competitions (she moved a week before the season ended too). Out of the remaining 12 flutes, 7 of us were on picc (Yuck!) and the 5 remaining flutes were all freshmen. Blaaah.
Hopefully next year will be better in terms of numbers. My freshman year, we had 20 flutes for marching, and last year 16.
