Gigi was so focused on what she planning to do, and so she didn't see the Shellos that was lying in the middle of the path, and thus she tripped over it and went flying, accidentally scratching the unsuspecting slug.
The Shellos, in turn, batted a palm sized bit of mud at Gigi.
The meowth shrieked with outrage. She was wet! Gigi decided to give the Shellos some of it's own medicine, and hurled a gunk shot at the slug.
The slug pokemon saw how much the water bothered Gigi, so he made it wetter with a rain dance.
Gigi started hissing and spitting with indignation, and charged the wild pokemon with all of her strength, sending it flying into the air. When it landed the Shellos trudged away as fast as it could.
Gigi sent one last hiss it's way, before bolting towards the pokemon center. Wetwetwetwet!!! Gigi didn't notice it, but when the Shellos had thrown mud at her, it had also thrown a Heart Scale.

Gigi reached the pokemon center in short order, and once inside she shook herself so that water flew everywhere. She might mock Felix for his phobia of water, she didn't like it all that much either. The meowth shook her head once, and then went to work on switching out Cecile and Brom. She jumped up into an uninhabited PC booth, and started pressing buttons until she got the right one. Luckily for the pokemon center, she figured out quickly, transferring the new Delcatty and Beldum to Felix's party.

Gigi made it back just in time to see Felix hang up his phone. The young meowth sat down on her haunches and started cleaning her face, pretending that she had never been gone. Her trainer was kind of scatterbrained and probably wouldn't even notice that she'd changed out his pokemon. She had to hold in a snicker.
Felix slowly put his phone away as he anxiously reviewed what his boss had said. Gonsap had been exceedingly interested in the weapon he had recieved, and he thought it had something to do with that group. Felix remembered them saying that they were going to Snowpoint, though not for what reason. Which meant... "We're going to Snowpoint." he told Gigi, his voice sounding stunned. He had studied Sinnoh's geography before coming here, and he knew what that meant. Cold. Wet. Snow. The blonde whimpered low in his throat, desperately wanting to do anything but go to Snowpoint - especially try and track donw Vhan - but he had been ordered to go.

Felix's body shuddered violently several times as the thought of snow made it's way through his body. He had two ways he could go, he figured. By boat - a particularly large shiver racked his body at that thought - or he could go the long way, by land.
It wasn't much of a contest.
Before starting towards Snowpoint Felix was determined to get some warmer clothes. The ninetail fur coat was wonderful, but it wouldn't be enough for this desert dweller.

Felix disappeared into a clothing store in short order, but Gigi stayed outside, having successfully snagged the delcatty's pokeball. She let the other feline out of his pokeball, and then looked away, suddenly feeling very shy. 'My name is Gigi,' she told him. 'What's your's?'
The delcatty looked around for a moment before curling his long tail around his feet, and studying the young meowth before him. 'It's Keith,' he replied.
Gigi started purring very tentavely as she showed the delcatty some of her pretties. 'These are for you.' she said, and pushed the heart shaped scales towards him.
As soon as the scales touched his paw, Keith remembered two moves that living on the streets had taught him. 'Thank you,'

Fern had also stayed outside with the two cat pokemon, while Terra and Que had followed Felix inside. The gecko pokemon noticed a shellos a little ways away, and ignored it. However, the Shellos wasn't quite as pacifistic as Fern, and he threw a ball of mud at Fern, which exploded on impact. Fern slowly wiped the mud off of himself, and sent one cool glare the shellos' direction, attacking it with a massive storm of leaves. The shellos ran away as fast as his body could carry him.

Felix came out of the shop in short order, wearing his newly "acquired" items. He's commandeered a white beret to both conceal and warm his ears, a pair of non fingerless gloves, and better insulated pants and shirt. That, along with his ninetail fur coat should at least stop him from freezing outright.
He recalled all of his pokemon, excluding Que, - who was hiding in his bag - and headed towards the river between Canalave and Jublife. It would be easier to stand the short boat ride if he didn't have to deal with Gigi and her smart a** remarks.

In order to keep the girls in sight, and yet not get caught, Felix was forced to steal a boat. The rig the girls were on was too small for him to ride with them, and so he had had to borrow a rowboat that had been left unattended.
Having had something to focus on, beside his misery, Felix didn't react as badly to the water as he usually did, and he was able to keep the pair in sight as they made their way into town. In an effort to reform, he had the newly evolvled Nina tow the boat back to the other side of the river.
