Kaya ran his fingers slowly over the spines of the books he passed by, carefully deciphering the titles of each as he did. "After a while, he reached the last book on the shelf, finding that the book he was searching for wasn't there. Unable to rely on color in his case, it had taken him a while longer than Brayden. He'd been too focused to catch the incident with Sai, unfortunately.
Turning to Brayden at long last, he sighed heavily. "It's not over here. Any luck on your side?" he asked as he walked over, suddenly unsteady on his feet for a moment or two. It took a moment, but he managed to get his footing back and quickly found a seat. "My head's killing me, all of a sudden...." he remarked quietly, moving a hand to rest gently on the side of his head, feeling it throb slightly.
The Zorua gave chase after Sai when the two humans were again distracted by the books. {I'd think they would be looking for a certain one.} it replied to Sai's previous remarks. {Humans tend to need one or more of those books for everything they can think up. It's a nasty habit, in my opinion.} it voiced, sticking it's nose in the air as if to seemed more regal and eloquent than those humans. {I suppose I can share my home with them as long as they don't bother me, though}

"Well that's strange," Sai cocked his head, listening to the Zorua's comments, "I don't really understand humans sometimes," he admitted, "But master keeps me safe, so I like him. And if he likes the other humans, than I don't mind them either. Even if they do weird stuff..."
"If they need the information in the books, why do they have so many? Why not just ask another human who knows the information?" Sai questioned.
Brayden stopped his search as he saw Kaya sit down, seeming a bit disoriented. Worried, Bray came to his side, resting a hand on his shoulder, "You alright?" he asked, setting the books down on the desk.
"Should I go check the bathroom or kitchen? Maybe there's some aspirin or something," he reasoned.

The Zorua offered a fox-shrug(however that works) and made a confused sound. {Dunno. I guess it's because every human has a different level of knowledge and the ones who know the most write it down for other humans.} it explained.
"I'll....I'll be fine in a minute." Kaya replied, feeling the blood rushing through his brain. Wait...that wasn't blood in his brain he was feeling. Something....ethereal. Something less than real but more than imagination was stirring.
As the male opened his eyes, it seemed as if the world before him shattered like a broken mirror. "Huh?what's going on?" He looked around quickly, his world filled with blackness.

"What?" Kaya looked around himself hurriedly as if surprised by this turn of events. Somehow he had sensed something like this coming for a while now. "Who are you?"
I am thy Persona. Thy psyche made manifest by thy wishes and will.
"Persona? Psyche? What does that mean?" Kaya finally stopped in his tracks and allowed himself to flop down.
Gaze upon this visage and unlock thy potential!
As Kaya started and looked up, his eyes fell upon a strange being. It looked partly human but partly Pokemon as well. It looked like a human/Gallade hybrid with a fiery red mane and black tufts of fur sprouting from it's wrists, ankles and waists. Small pieces of armor scattered over it's body and a japanese longsword hanging from it's waist.
Again the world seemed to shatter like a mirror and when the male opened his eyes again, he was surprised to find that he could see....faintly. Just a bit more than shapes now but still not much more. But his head didn't hurt any more.

((No prob. I've played a little of the first game at a friend's, it was pretty good. I heard the later games were the best, though.))
Sai nodded, "I guess I can understand that," he stated simply, "There are a lot of humans, after all. It might be easier to leave what you know in a book, and hope that whoever needs that information will come across it."
"Kaya?" Brayden asked, worriedly. He hadn't seen the strange vision Kaya had, but when the prince seemed to blank out, not responding to him, and seemingly holding a mental conversation, Brayden got a bit worried. While he had been able to understand the conversations between Kaya and his Pokemon, this had been different. It was as if he was being blocked out by something. He had been in the dark, seemingly unable to overhear anything, and that worried him.
So when Kaya opened his eyes once again, Brayden couldn't help the sigh of relief. He had feared the worst several times over.
"You okay?" he murmured carefully.

Zorua nodded. {Exactly. Human's aren't very good at sharing information like us Pokemon.} it puffed out it's chest, obviously proud to be a Pokemon.
Kaya removed his hand from his head and shook it vigorously for a moment or so. "I'm fine, Love. Honestly. I couldn't hardly hear you over the throbbing in my head for a sec. It's gone now, though." he admitted. He did feel much better after that odd vision.
"Master! We've found something!" Aoibhinn remarked from the desk. "It is confusing, even to us, but we believe we can explain it." he added as he flipped the pages with his mental prowess. Rather than making Kaya and Brayden come to him, he Metang drifted over to them. "We've uncovered something called 'Persona'. It seems that it is a manifestation of the state of one's psyche. The state of the mind becomes a solid, sentient form and grants the 'Persona-user' with extraordinary powers." he explained, processing and breaking down the information as quickly as he was able.
"According to this book, sometimes a Persona is born that lacks combat prowess like most and becomes a 'surveillance' Persona, granting immense visual abilities." The Metang processed the remaining information as he awaited Kaya and his mate's responses.
"............Persona............" Kaya remained silent aside from the one word.

Brayden listened to Aoi once Kaya had clarified that he was okay now. He was still a bit worried, but at least Kaya was feeling better. At least the killer headache didn't seem to be bothering him any longer.
"Is there any way to get this... Persona, to manifest itself?" Brayden asked, "Does it cover that at all in the book?" he asked Aoi.
Outside, Gin'iro happened upon a rather territorial Shinx, but a Fire Blast proved to the electric cat that the fire fox was the one to rule the back garden. At least for now. Gin was easily distracted, and was soon out in the back area of the land, exploring.

Aoi perused the book a bit more before responding. "Well...there is mention of a device called an 'Evoker'." he responded as he crossed his arms, looking a bit worried. "But we fear we wouldn't be able to create one. We would worry too much about failure." the metang replied, turning the book so that Brayden could see the designs he'd found.
Said Evoker looked like a gun and according to the diagrams, the Persona-user had to point the Evoker at their own head and pull the trigger. "You see our fears are just, correct Master?" the Metang inquired after Brayden had had time to see the diagrams and prints.
"I...I think I'll take my chances without that, thank you." Kaya replied with a faint laugh, having gotten a mental image from Aoi. No one had noticed the orb at the end of Kaya's long forgotten staff had begun to glow with a blue-white light.

Brayden took one look at the diagram, paling slightly as he realized the connotations.
"Eh... that looks a little... dangerous?" he managed. He recalled the gun at Kaya's waist, but hoped to high heaven that it wouldn't come to Kaya shooting himself in the head with anything, let alone a gun.
He was glad that Kaya passed up on the opportunity, however.
"So is there any other way to evoke this? Without doing anything that could lead to potential death?" Bray asked.
Sai was half-paying attention, but the strange new Pokemon was still much more interesting than the humans talking. They seemed to do a lot of that, in his opinion.
"So you're from here?" he asked the Zorua, "What are you exactly, if you don't mind me asking?" he piped up. His curiosity finally got the better of him.
"I don't remember ever seeing a Pokemon like you, and I originally lived somewhat near here," he explained.

"Hmmm....there is mention of...Social Links and Arcana Cards...." he intoned as he perused the information, breaking it down as quickly as possible. "According to this, there are more than 20 Arcana that a Persona can be of and each has a Social Link related to it. Each link is special to the Persona-User and by strengthening the link, the Persona can become more powerful and more easily controlled."

"Uhm...." Kaya looked around for a moment, standing quickly. "Excuse me if I seem crazy for a moment." he apologized to the others.
"I am Kaya Rayvn. Thou art I and I am thou! I Swear it upon my soul-life to take responsibility for my choices. Persona! Gan Aithne, Master of Unseeing!" he unsnapped the holster on his thigh and pulled the tri-barreled gun from it, swinging it through the air between himself and the others. Even to them, a space in the air shattered like glass and the creature Kaya had seen in his mind appeared before him, fading into the darkness seconds later.
A bit clearer but still too hazy to truly make out his surroundings, Kaya offered a smile to the slightly more colorful form of his lover. "You've got a smudge on your face...." he murmured as he reached over and wiped a large spot of dust and soot off the male's face. Evidently it had been there since the battle with the Dragonair.
The Zorua shrugged at Sai. {I'm a Zorua. I don't know where my kind originally come from, just that I'm the only one around here. I was born in this house a long, long time ago, all by myself.} it admitted. {It's been terribly lonely for my whole life. At least now I'll have some company.} it enthused happily.

Brayden listened as Aoi explained a bit more, but his attention went to Kaya when the prince started reciting.... something.
Bray was more than a little nervous when Kaya retrieved his gun from its holster, given the turn of conversation a moment ago. He was about to voice his concerns, but suddenly the dimensions itself seemed to shatter.
Brayden let out a yelp, as did Sai, who ducked beneath the desk, as the strange creature was suddenly visible to the remainder of those who were in the room. Brayden had reached for his belt, prepared to call out someone in case the thing attacked, but then realized that the majority of his party was still outside, and out of reach.
In a flash, Ariadne had teleported in front of him, but by that time, the apparition had vanished back into darkness. The Gardevoir looked around curiously, expecting Team Galactic, or even Notaro himself. Something that could have elicited the panic the empath Pokemon had felt flare up suddenly from her trainer's emotions.
'Uh... boss? Either I'm daft, or there's nothing here... what's with you?" she questioned. But Brayden was without words at the moment, and couldn't even gather his thoughts enough to offer a mental response back to the Gardevoir.
At first his lack of coherency was due to the apparition. But Brayden soon found himself at a loss for words for a completely different reason, as Kaya wiped the spot of soot from his cheek.
Brayden could to little else, but embraced Kaya tightly, burying his head in the prince's shoulder, completely overcome at the moment. There might have been a few tears, but Brayden was too cool for that. The roof was leaking. Or something. Yeah. That would explain the slight dampness that found its way to Kaya's shoulder.
Ariadne rolled her eyes, and teleported away back out to the gardens. She had been enjoying her break thus far, so she wasn't going to allow her stupid trainer to interfere with her relaxing.
Sai was still cowering under the desk, until all traces of the strange creature were gone from the room. He peeked out, scanning the room carefully, before venturing a response to the Zorua.
"A Zorua..." he murmured, still keeping alert for any other surprises that might come into the room, "T-That's really neat," he smiled slightly, "I don't think I've ever seen anything like you before."
The Vaporeon frowned slightly at the foxlike Pokemon's next statement, though. No one should be lonely, he decided.
"Um... I could be your friend?" it came out more as a question than an offer, but the sentiment was still the same. The shy Vaporeon looked up hopefully.

Kaya could only smile at Brayden, embracing his lover tightly. "It's not clear, but I can see you in color now." he offered a small laugh, trying to get the younger male to calm down. Aside from that, nothing else was spoken for a while. He simply stood there and enjoyed the sight of his lover holding him tightly. The dampness on his shoulder must simply be from the boat ride home. Yeah. That was it. He'd gotten splashed and didn't realize until now. Brayden was too tough to cry, right?
The Zorua nodded and bounded over to Sai. {Really!? You would!?} it asked, excitedly. {Oh, wow, I've never had a real friend before!} It seemed quite excited at the moment to have a new friend. It didn't matter that Sai had never seen it's kind before, just that he was now it's friend. A big, sappy fox-smile soon appeared on the Pokemon's face.

Brayden just stood, enjoying the embrace, and collecting his thoughts for a moment. He spoke once he could trust his own voice, which was after a few moments.
"Some sight is better than none. That's just amazing," he smiled, nuzzling Kaya's cheek slightly with his nose, "But... what was that thing?" he asked, looking back over his shoulder where the Persona once stood. It had certainly looked imposing... but he wasn't quite sure whether to mark it up as aggressive or not. It hadn't attacked. But Brayden had little doubt that whatever that thing was, he wasn't going to be wanting to anger it.
Sai was still by the desk, and smiled brightly when the Zorua agreed to the request for friendship.
"Thank you," he beamed, unsure as to what exactly to say, "I'm glad to find a friend," he admitted.

Kaya nodded agreement easily. "I agree wholeheartedly, love." he agreed. "That was Gan Aithne. I can only assume that it would be my Persona." he admitted. "It called itself, Master of Unseeing. Maybe that's it's power? Seeing what can't be seen?" he wondered aloud, though he dismissed it for another time now. "I think...I'll try to fix Linux before we leave.....but right now...let's go get some rest?" he suggested, the weariness of the events up til now finally getting the better of him.

"Gan Aithne..." Brayden echoed, recalling the creature. It made sense that it was a Persona, so thankfully that meant he wouldn't have to face against something like that.
"So that's the reason you can see. A bit better at least," Brayden reasoned with a nod.
Kaya's next suggestion got eager agreement from Bray, even though his actions were still a bit subdued from the fatigue that had been creeping over him. He was definitely tired, and still a bit sore from the Thunder. Even with Ariadne's help in taking away the majority of the pain, it unfortunately did little for the actual damage to his body.
"I'm all for getting some rest," he agreed, trying not to think about how tired he was, lest he break out into a yawning fest.
"Since the events at the island, we haven't really had time for sleep, huh?" he smiled, "Saving the world is fun in its own right, but on the other hand, it sure does wear ya out," he laughed.
Breaking the embrace in favor of finding a bed, Brayden gathered up the books he had found, hoping to go through them later on. After a bit of searching, he found Sai (although he still hadn't spotted the Zorua).
"You can stay around the house, or go outside if you'd like," Brayden offered to the Vaporeon, who nodded in understanding.
"The master bedroom was upstairs, if I remember correctly, right?" Brayden asked Kaya as he looked out of the study and into the hallway.
Sai had returned to his conversation with the foxlike Pokemon once he deemed that Brayden was staying in the house for a while at least.
"I-I'd like to play, yes," the Vaporeon answered shyly, "What would you like to do?"

Kaya nodded, shrugging as he did so. "I guess so." he agreed. "Either way, I'm glad I can see a bit. It's better than the colorless shapes I could make out before." he admitted.
"No, we really haven't. We've been saving the island, getting a good meal and trying to celebrate our victory and us entering into wedlock." he tried to recall everything that had happened on the island. For some reason, there seemed to be a large gap in the middle of it all, though. They'd stopped the Dragonair, and the next thing he remembered was when they'd been on the beach, heading towards the temple. "I must admit it is a very tiring occupation. Good thing our lot's well equipped for the job, eh?" he laughed as he lifted his partner off his feet.
"Yes, I believe the master bedroom is indeed upstairs." carrying Brayden like any groom worth his salt would carry his partner, he left the study and found the stairs, ascending them with ease. Finding said master bedroom was simple enough, as it was the first room off of the long corridor at the top of the stairs.
Zorua hopped about cheerfully for a moment or two. {Can we go outside and play tag? There are lots of other Pokemon here that can play with us.} It looked to the windows for a brief moment, assessing the weather. Deeming it excellent to play outside, it turned back to Sai, awaiting his answer.
