"The only people around here are coke-heads... And where the hell would I follow someone who just almost killed me?" His head hurt with conflict. He wanted to know, but he wasn't sure he was ready to risk his life for the information. He had zero trust in the necromancer.

"Suit yourself. I only speak on my terms. However, if I guess correctly, this is imformation you want. THe only way to not commit mass hommicide with uncontrolled powers is to learn about them. If you allow your magic to run ammock, it will be eventually sucked dry - until it rejuvinates - and that would most likely be the time when you would be captured and sentanced to death," Gervain explained, his tone perfectly practical. He was a logical person and these lessons had been etched into his nature since before he could even remember. He knew this all by heart.

Shiyaa nodded to Kuno, a hand on Kiyo's shoulder. He looked over to Kaya, frowning a little, " Not your fault. I probably would've been attacked anyway. I'm not exactly good at lying, after all." He smiled a little, then looked around the cafe," Everyone seems to have panicked and left...You two should probably head out, too. The police and all....Kuno, do you want me to show you my apartment so you know where it is? I'm probably going to need a new job, but I could still use you. And, uh..." He looked at Kaya, " You approached me earlier...."

Leif grunted. Logic was hard to argue with, in any case. He just nodded. The dark-haired man hated just nodding and following along with things, but he really didn't think he had a choice in this case. He didn't want to kill anyone, and he didn't want to get killed. Apparently there wasn't a happy medium.

Gervain allowed a faint smile to slip onto his lips. "Alright, then. Follow me," he said, turning. "I need to make a call before we arrive, though." As he spoke, he took his cell phone from his pocket, flicked it open, and his the speed dial for Shadi. The phone was answered almost immidiately. No one else could possibly call Shadi because... well... no one else had his number.
"Y-yes?" Shadi asked, slightly breathless.
"Meet me back home."
"I - but - alright..." Shadi murmured slightly reluctantly. He couldn't go against Gervain's will. Not ever. Gervain had hung up as soon as Shadi had agreed and the dial tone purred through the boy's ears. Shadi shut the phone and frowned, stuffing it back in his pocket.

Leif's skin was positively singing with goosebumps, his entire body still on high alert. Especially now, entering another mage's territory. He'd heard stories about what they do to each other, and after nearly being murdered he was reasonably sure they were all true. He barely managed to keep from hugging himself, instead shoving his hands into his pockets and sullenly following Gervain. He was a stray again now, just following someone home.

Gervain took a slow, easy pace. He was still quite winded and, although he no longer had a limp, his leg throbbed dully. They reached his home - an apartment, and quite a dump at that - after maybe fifteen or twenty minutes. He unlocked the door to the quite normal-looking place. However, unlike the outside, the inside was exceedingly clean. Shadi was an extreme neat freak. Apart from that, the most notable thing in the room was that every wall was hidden behind shelves, all of which were crammed with as many books as they could carry. Gervain set Shadi's pack down on a counter top and then made his way to the living room - they were, after all, fortunate enough to have quite a spacious lot all to themselves. Gervain had, after some consideration for amount, allowed - or rather, ordered - Shadi to read quite a sum of money out of a book. He sat down on a comfortable-looking love seat - Shadi, of course, would be sitting next to him once he arrived - and indicated that the other should sit in the opposing arm chair.

Leif looked suspiciously around, then at the chair... Then decided it wasn't worth it. He sat down in a graceful folding of limbs and crossed his arms. Those green eyes shifted, expressing his discomfort.

THe silence stretched over for a minute or so before Gervain finally murmured, "I can't explain anything now. Or, at the very least, I shouldn't. We have to wait for someone..." As he spoke, he leaned back, lounging back further into the comfortable poof.

Leif shrunk back into his chair and let his gaze wander over the room, taking in the books, the endless shining bindings shining into his eyes. "Read much?" He muttered, swipping his long locks out of his face and behind his ears.

"I just wanted to talk to you. I've seen you around here alot but I've always been too self concious to say anything. It's just...I..I don't know. I guess I've grown to like you...at least a little bit, otherwise I wouldn't have stuck my nose where it didn't belong." he tried not to look, but his concern forced him to look up into Shiyaa's face with pleading eyes. Knowing now that Shiyaa was a mage only caused him to find him that much more interesting. How the hell was he supposed to actually convince Shiyaa that he wasn't just some random person trying to get a one night stand. He truely had cared about Damon, but somehow he got the feeling that he wasn't coming back.

Levvy Leif shrunk back into his chair and let his gaze wander over the room, taking in the books, the endless shining bindings shining into his eyes. "Read much?" He muttered, swipping his long locks out of his face and behind his ears. "No. I hardly read - not unless I have to. It's Shadi - the one we're waiting for - who reads. And he's also the one who cleans..." he explained simply. He had an idea that Shadi was going to take some time to get back home... "Here, I'm hungry," he said suddenly, standing up from his chair. "Would you like anything?" He might be a b-stard, but he was, at least somewhat, civilized. "I'm not sure what we have, but whatever there is, you're welcome to it." This was his normal personality, his vague politeness. It was nothing at all similar to the cruel, detatched fierceness of before.

Responded Leif, automatically responding with politeness when politeness was given to him. He really did want to say ******** no, you'll poison me, but he'd always had trouble being mean in response to civilized questions. Damn his upbringing for teaching him manners. He wanted to be vicious right now, horribly and meanly vicious.

((Ack I'm sorry Mie... *goes in the corner*)) "That was your buddy again huh?" Brice asked, wondering when the little game of phone tag was going to be over. Tapping his fingers on his arm impatiently he sighed.
"So did he say where he was?" agitated that he'd bothered to help this kid, Brice was almost ready to hail a cab, toss some money at him and have them drop the kid off at some random location. Or at his home, whatever worked better.
