Blah. Shouyin's aim was apparently a little off in the darkness, and he still wasn't completely in control of Sokugoku, so there was a still a need to rely on the direct senses. Le triste. Anyways, his wits were still about him, and he could certainly react to the knee strike, and take advantage of certain things.

The blow, which was intended to knock the half-golem off balance, would strike harmlessly, the sound of wood hitting rock a little muffled behind the fabric of his jeans. With this he'd complete his step, and catch the solar plexus strike in the palm of his left hand. His hand would hook around, so he'd be grabbing the end of the man's cane tightly overtop with his left, wrist wrapped around slightly. If his fingers were to extend, they'd be pointing away from Shou.

With the weapon trapped, the young man would begin his disarm. That was the idea; it wasn't about damage, least not in this case, it was about disabling. Take away his weapons, take away his ability to strike, take away everything until the foe wasn't a threat. Anyways, Shou would swing downwards with the stick, sweeping out from left to right. He'd be aiming for the wrist of the hand that held the cane, his own grip on the cane basically holding the target in place for him to hit it and force Knives to let go.

As he swung, he would slide his right foot backwards. Going back into a basic fighting stance (knees slightly bent, feet facing the right forty-five, lead toe in line with rear heel) with his left foot in front now. If everything went according to plan (that is, Shou got his grip on the cane and disarmed it), the cane would be gripped in his left hand, the kali stick in his right. Left hand would be poised in front of the hip, cane tilted horizontally while the right fist was parallel with his abdomen, stick vertical and tilting forwards a bit.

And Shou would stay like that, waiting for his opponent's reaction.

After becoming bored with the fight he was watching, Clint made his way back to the common area, looking for a beverage of some sort to quench his dry throat.

But, while on his adventure to find a drink stand, X came across a roster of one of the branches to the tournement, leafing through it, a few names caught his eye, one of an old
friend who the loosely dressed man had once shot, and left for dead, Tacitus was an Officer of GPD back when the office still had some power over things, and when Bolt still ran the place. Clint had to laugh, recalling the good days of his enimies seemed odd, as it should.

After his examination of the roster, X headed off to try and find somewhere to get something to drink.

After leaving the arena, I went into the common room just to relax for a little while.

(If ya don't mind, read a lil' bit of my first entrance post -- I'm being a bit indescriptive here.)
Lying against a wall was a man who actually looked ready for combat. The figure eyed the young man who he was to meet in battle, but only for a moment as the spar he had to agreed to prevented the use of power, and he considered the special properties of his eyes, well powers. He closed his eyes tight, while he raised his right hand and brought his yellow headband down onto his eyes, now it was a blinker. His silvery highlighted hair sprayed in the wind, his face remaining rather mute. For some reason, his tounge seemed to pour out of his mouth for a while along with a few of his sharp crystalline fangs.

He was wearing what would be a tight, sleeveless, black shirt that fit well against his abs of steel. But in all actuallity, the shirt was made of a bed of disabled nanobots and nanites, allowing for the concealment of weapons. A few large hilts did barely pop out in rather random places. His arms were decorated with the divine seals, and appeared rather scarless now. His hands were wrapped with a fine linen, complimenting his bronze skin tone, which oddly seemed to have hints of blue that were not from the seal. He wore tight black jeans that seemed to become baggy as they became closer to his feet that were wrapped in similar linen and sat on steel sandals, probably with some weapon hidden down there.

He grabbed two roses, one in each hand, and with a flicker of energy, they transformed into two katars, one on each hand. The two katars had slick, a little bit thick silver blades that extended outwards maybe eleven inches. The loops in which the hands would slip into were rather tight, but they still allowed for squeezing. There was another loop under the extended blade in which the ring and index fingers of each hand fit into, allowing for superior control. The blade was indented in certain areas to improve areodynamics. Get the jist'?

Eh, my katar is slightly different than a normal one. It works similarly, though.
"Ah, hello there! Sorry, 'fraid I must have missed you coming in." the boy smiled at the other figure, turning to face him, and taking several steps out away from the wall to give him some space to move in each direction. "Does this mean you're ready to begin?" he smiled perhaps a bit too friendily. Made him look rather dumb really, grinning brightly and being not just friendly but jovial as combat was about to begin.

One hand was loosening the straps over the large sword on his back though, a quick and easy task though he took it slowly because there was no rush. The other hand held the walking staff in three fingers and the thumb, the index tapping lightly against the thick staff of treated wood, just a little more than an inch thick in diameter. A good staff. Maybe fifteen dollars if you could find one at a store.

One leg, his left, was extended forward about a half a foot's span beyond the right, turned sideways from his facing toward the other man, and bearing most of his weight. The staff in his right hand was laid back over his shoulder in a single hand, the loose grip with fingertips making it balance procariously, tipping with that slight motion of his index for the staff's upper end to bounce off his shoulder, bob back up, and come down to bounce again.

He sprung up from his seat on the wall, streching back a little bit before springing right back into combat position with a little hop. His right foot, leading, slid sligthly foward before arcing itself perhaps 45 degrees off the ground, the ball of his foot was generally waiting, bouncing down at points. His left foot slid foward, and turned itself slightly to the outside, while closing most of the distance between the legs. He began to hunch down slightly, while his structure seemed to be pumping itself for battle. His left fist arched up its elbow, while keeping his hand and wrist straight foward, not following the movements of his entire arm as a whole. His right hand stayed open as it rotated around to face his palm to the inside core of his body, as if he was going to backhand or normally slap his opponent. He held the katar tightly, waiting for his opponent.

Knives noted the way his cane bounced off of something hard where Shouyin's knee should have been. That was no ordinary armor. However, when he went for the straight jab with the oaken cane and the end was caught, a strange twist of his wrist came and the rest of the stick became dislodged from the portion Shouyin was holding onto. Oddly enough, the very several inches on the end had unscrewed from the rest in his opponent's grasp, leaving a slender, double-edged and pointed blade poking out from inside the hollows of the cane. As the blow to Knives's wrist came down nonetheless, with another quick flick of his wrist and twist of the forearm he balanced the cane out horizontally to his left at a mild upward angle to block the blow and then slid the cane down the length of Shouyin's stick in one fluid motion. With a quick two shuffling steps forward in time with the block and sliding motion of the cane, the point of the blade within his cane would rest just before Shouyin's throat.

Kai held the Ion Cannon under his right arm, aiming for a large rock in the distance. He grinned, and fired the cannon's destructive energies, destroying the rock.

The opening move was quite simple.

He stepped his right foot past the left one, stopping with it sideways so it's outside faced the opponent squarely. The boy flipped the staff around and grabbed a new hold, still with a single hand, six inches down from the top of the staff, and slid his right foot forward just enough that the tip of his walking staff would be close enough to the man to strike the bottom of the jaw. It was a swing with the arm extended far, but not quite straight, swinging sliding the tip outward along the ground and smoothly transfering into upward motion as guided by the single hand. The left hand stayed by his belt as if ready to draw one of the long handled short swords.

Naw.

The step back with his right put Shouyin's left hand in front, and while he would've rathered there be another weapon in that hand, it was left delightfully open. Or at least, it was when he dropped the cane's cap or whatever immediately after obtaining it. Therefore, it wasn't much trouble to just parry the shuffle-thrust at his throat up and to his right, basically swatting it aside to make room for a counter.

So, following right after the parry, Shou would step in with his right foot, always maintaining that same basic fighting stance, keeping his legs shoulder-width apart and everything. This advance would put Knives' cane over his right shoulder, the blade now out of harm's way. In time with the step, Shouyin would swing his stick horizontally from right to left, aiming to strike hard and fast across Knives' chest, the brunt of the attack focusing on the man's left collarbone.

Considering the strength of the weapon, and Shouyin's own considerable arm strength, the bone would probably break, even if the man was wearing some padded armour underneath his cloak. Aside from that, his chest would most certainly be stinging, the wind possibly knocked out of him; on the assumption he was a normal (or possibly above-average) human being of course. Shou's left hand would remain open, up in front of his body, palm hovering somewhere nearby Knives' right elbow, keeping the arm in check while he struck.

"I'm sorry, I thought I heard you say we have twins."

He laughed softly, placing the mug down and looking at her. However, looking at her, and the tone of her voice, he figure she wasn't joking around. "I thought it was impossible for me to have children..."

Not exactly impotent... he suffered from a different type of problem. The inability to properly procreate... which suffice to say meant he was shooting nothing but blanks.

A side effect of the cloning process.. probaly to prevent any "abominations" from being born much like when he first awakened in LevKit labs...

She raises a fine brow at him and simply replies:

"I didn't bed anyone else during those long months ashke."

At least he hadn't thrown the mug.

He stared at her, his mouth agape now.

"......You're serious." She's serious!

Children. Him, of all people! Incredible. He lowered his head, feeling a bit of a blood rush. He couldn't quite believe it. "...I.."
