Caprica managed to stow his gear for the most part in the pillow case he had been laying his head on. He couldn't actually bear the weight of all of it right now. He was glad he had Lucius to help him out. How had the priest found him? It was a miracle. It had to be. He crossed himself briefly and resolved to get himself a crucifix at the next opportunity. Maybe he'd have better luck not getting kiddnaped by horney demons. He never wanted to get called 'brother' by something with a tail again.

Dante just grinned goofily at his brother and then looked around the room. There wasn't much in it save for the furniture already there and he hadn't really expected much else of Vergil.

This was a place to sleep and probably get away from him, a room wouldn't hold much more value than that to him. Dante, on the other, seemed to be like any other human male his age. It was a complete mess with a few rock band posters on the walls, so perhaps it wasn't entirely a surprise that the siblings shared different outlooks on the status of humanity. At his brother's comment, Dante snorted and laughed, "Yeah, right. Like you could take me." Wasn't it already made clear that Dante could beat his brother's a** any time?

Vergil rolled his eyes as he made his way to the bed. Sitting down he undid his cravat, pulling it loose from his vest. Dante thought he could seriously beat him everytime know cause of that ONE time he'd beaten him? Oh please... and well... uh... the times when he was under Mundus' control didn't count...

"Dante, you're intoxicated. I'd love to see you make an a** of yourself attempting to beat me in this condition, but I'm tired and covered in blood. Now is not a good time." he explained, bending down slightly to yank a boot off. Getting the other one off as well, he placed them at the end of his bed before undoing his vest and tossing that on the same chair his coat was on. He could care less if his twin watched, not like Dante didn't see the same body every morning when he looked in the mirror.

Once free of the building, Lucius was lucky enough to hail a cab that rounded the corner. After giving directions to the driver, Lucius gave Caprica his full attention. The young man looked, to Lucius, like living hell. It broke his heart to see the once cheerful visage marred by unsightly dark circles under the eyes and his throat ... it amazed the priest that Caprica hadn't fallen to the lowest. Never to hear himself speak, express himself in song ... However, Lucius didn't say anything until they reached the cathedral.

Before entering the abandoned building, Lucius turned to look at Caprica and murmured, "I'm sorry ... about your family." There really wasn't much else to say so Lucius turned away, pushing the large heavy door inward and entering the dimly lit interior.

[Adding my Dante response in the same post]

Blood? The hazy feeling he was experiencing with the booze slowly lifted, "Blood? What happpened?"

Caprica was ever so glad to sit down in the cab. His ribs were killing him. He wanted drugs. Strong drugs. He leaned his head back and closed his eyes, dozing off a little. His fine Japanese features were emaciated and ill-looking. He had totally forgotten he wasn't wearing his neck cuff, otherwise he wouldn't have exposed his throat like that. He was sorry to see the ride come to a halt. That meant he had to get up again.

He slouched out of the vehichle and shuffled towards the hallowed building.

"I'm sorry ... about your family."

Caprica wondered what he would say, if he could talk. I'm sorry too? There was nothing we could have done? Let's go destroy all the demons in the world? I wish I was with them now... He shook his head and crossed himself again, proceeding into the church behind Lucius.

((Well you're saved only cause you included it with your main post... naughty Ilarian LOL))

Vergil kicked off his pants as Dante was asked his question, leaving a pair of blue silk boxers, of course. Long fingers combed through his hair and he glanced at his twin before looking out the window where he'd seen that human woman for the first time.

"Some one threatened to take my family away... I had to stop them..." Vergil sad solemly, his head dropping a little as he thought of the last time that had happened. Only he hadn't been strong enough to protect his family then. The only one who could hurt his family was him... no one else! Vergil didn't notice but a lone tear had slid down his cheek, until it plopped onto his chest. Blinking, he reached up a finger to wipe at the tear streak on his face.

"Damnit..." he cursed, and clenched his fist in the sheet on his bed. He wasn't suppose to show such emotions! He hated how weak he was lately.

[Lucius]
Out of habit upon entering, Lucius immediately dipped his finger tips into the bowl of holy water and crossed himself as he strode down the main aisle. Usually, he would stop at the alter and murmur a brief prayer but he had another person's need to care for. Bypassing the alter to move through a door on the right, Lucius led Caprica to the second floor and another wing of the cathedral. At one time, the place had held a nunnery and dormitories for priests--it was this part of the church that Lucius spent most of his time as well as the remains of the library.

Finally, the reached the more habitable rooms and stopped at his. When he first found the place, there was nothing in it but a bed but as Lucius begane exploring the old cathedral he collected various pieces of furniture in his room. There was now a desk that sat infront of the window overlooking the gloomy exterior courtyard. The surface was piled high with all sorts of books and tomes regarding demons and other sort of parapharnalia.

Turning back to Caprica and doffing the outer coat of his uniform, Lucius gestured to his bed, "Rest, you look like you could use it" he said quietly, a small smile curving his lips. "I'll be back in a few moments."

[Dante]
The gun toting demon blinked in surprise and then grinned, "So I didn't imagine that hottie at the window. Score!" The grin faded into a puzzled expression. Family? Dante's expression brightened and he slapped his brother on the back and teased, "Oh, so you do care, Verg. That just ... brings a tear to my eye ..." He snickered before growing serious. "So, this chick say she was after us then? Man, why us all the time, huh?" Forefinger and thumb touched his chin, "Better hit the pavement and find out who it is."

Vergil's expression hardened immeadiately at Dante's joking words, and he wanted nothing more that to make him eat those same words, but he just wasn't in the mood. Let Dante poke fun at him, not like he needed his twin to comfort him, only weak humans needed that.

"Have fun." Vergil glowered angrily, as he moved to lay down in his bed, back turned to Dante. Yanking the covers over his body he planned on getting some real sleep this time. Let that punk go out by himself.

The usual smug smirk disappeared from his face at Vergil's lack of well ... whatever it was that Vergil had. Spunk certainly wasn't the word that sprang to Dante's mind. But whatever it was, his brother certainly had his panties in a twist over it.

Instead of some smart a** quip, Dante sighed but annoyingly flopped onto the bed beside his sibling. Silence ensued and the half demon stared at the ceiling until he murmured, "... is this about mom, Vergil?"

Not sure if he should ignore his twin, Vergil's brows stayed knitted as he tried to keep an angry tone about him. The brat had some nerve getting into his bed to talk with him like the were little kids again.

"... what if it is... it doesn't matter." Vergil said, turning his face so his words were mumbled against his pillow. When it came to this, Dante had always been the one to let anyone and everyone know how he felt, but Vergil didn't express his sadness, dispair, loss... after his mothers death he seemed to have locked away that part of him. Well except for Dante, who seemed to be able to pry that part of him open sometimes.

"I'm heartless, so I don't care about her remember?" he added, drawing the covers closer to him.

Caprica copied him. Despite having crossed himself numerous times since his family's demise, he had not been in a church since then. He felt rusty. The place was filled with emptiness. That sense of disuse that only abandoned buildings can have. He felt sad in a way. And a little nervous. What if God was angry with him for not having attended church? But he couldn't have. At that time in is life, he just couldn't go back. He had blamed God, been angry with Him, for not saving his family. When he had believed so devoutly. When he had given Him his voice every Sunday and every choir practice between. He had enjoyed singing so much. And now...

He swallowed hard and bobbed his head. He eased himself down on the bed and closed his eyes. It felt so good to rest. He was asleep in moments.

Shifting his head, Dante studied the back of his twin's white locks. Scrunching up his face in annoyance at Vergil he retorted, "Idiot!" He grabbed the extra pillow and smacked his brother with it. His arms then hugged it to his chest, "That's not what I meant." Dante resumed his staring at the ceiling, "Your heartless when it comes to humans," he added in a murmur, "... but never mom." I mean, how could any child be heartless toward their mother? Okay, well maybe if they were beaten and abused, Dante wouldn't exactly blame a kid there, but their mother was far from abusive. The twin's mom was like any other, she cared and provided, read them stories ... tucked them in at night. Until ... the end. Dante shifted to his side away from Vergil, hugging the pillow closer and muttered, "... idiot."

Guessing that Caprica was probably in a lot of pain, Lucius raided the first aid kit to find some pain killers that luckily hadn't expired yet. Afterward, he headed to the kitchen thinking that his friend was also probably hungry and made a sandwich to go along with the pain killers. However, when he returned his room he found Caprica completely wiped out on the bed. A small smile curved his lips, setting the sandwich on the night stand and getting a glass of water from the bathroom, he set the glass and painkillers next to the sandwich. Pulling the sheet and blanket over the sleeping form, Lucius left behind the glass and drugs, but returned the sandwich to the fridge so it wouldn't spoil.

Lucius then quietly studied at his desk so he wouldn't wake Caprica for a couple hours until he decided to go downstairs to the dining hall. When he first arrived at the derelict church, the dining area had row upon row of long tables and benches which he painstakingly cleared away to make room for the training area he was now in.

Lighting several candles, the former priest retrieved the whip from the wall of weapons and practiced with the weapon for a while. Lucius then went into the routine of swordplay and physical combat until he exhausted himself, showered, then wrapped himself in the blanket he used during the winter. Sinking down in the only other chair in his room, he made sure he had his knife and gun tucked in with him before his eyes finally drooped close. The former priest's last thoughts before sleep fully took him was, I never used to sleep with a gun and knife before ...

Caprica slept a long time. Hours and hours. The first time he'd done so in a long time. Probably because of the feeling of sanctuary the church held for him. In the end, he was woken by a dream. It wasn't an especially bad dream, just that his leg had jerked and caused a jab of pain to lance through his sleepy mind. He sighed silently and rubbed at his eye, looking around.

Waking up in strange beds. I'd better not make a habit of this. He spied a glass of water beside the bed. And heavens be praised, painkillers. He got himself into a seated position with a lot of unheard cussing and swallowed them down. He sat there, finishing off the glass of water, and thinking about his next course of action. There wasn't much for him to do. Not until he healed.

This can't go on. At this rate, my life will be too short to accomplish anything. Maybe the good father knew a way to be stronger than a normal man.

It was growing dark the next night when Lucius returned to the cathedral, wondering if Caprica would be up by now. On his way up to his room, the former priest stopped to grab the first aid kit since he had toiled with a demon that day. The left side of his face was a mask of his blood, thankfully none of it was his except for the gash on his right cheek. His back and right bicep were a different matter; the demon had swiped it's claws nice and well along his back and arm.

Entering his room, he found Caprica awake and lounging on his bed. "Ah, you're awake I see." Setting the first aid kit on his desk, he gingerly removed his coat. A hiss of pain escaped his lips as his back protested the movement. Removal of the coat revealed five rows of slash marks rendered on the black dress shirt he wore. Hints of an elaborate tatto could be seen peeking out. Focusing his attention on the boy he asked, "Are you hungry?"

Caprica was distressed to see the good father hurt. He made himself get up and walked over to him. Walking wasn't that hard. Standing up and sitting down were what hurt the most never mind bending over. He plucked at the ragged ends of cloth to look at the gashes and winced. He knew he should help Lucius get them cleaned and bandaged. It would be hard since they were not on the front of his body and hard to see.

He perked up at the mention of food. He nodded sincerely. He was very hungry. His stomach had stopped growling a long time ago which bespoke of true starvation. He wanted to get some food into it and get it going again.
