He raised a single eyebrow, face curious, quiet among the questions and whispers. Dariyn was most keenly interested in magic, twas true, and it was one of the few things he would NOT be hesitant to try. His gaze was intent, watching their professor.
Note-taking was paused for the moment, or at least, close enough to paused...what was being done was hardly legible. Yes...yes he wanted to attempt magic...that was where his hunger for learning was more akin to a lust.

Elanin couldn't help but smile. She put her quill and notebook off to the side as she looked up at the professor, her attention focused souly on him. After all, he was offering to teach them a spell, and a spell that would let them learn more about the target of it, which of course snaged Elanin's curiosity quite well.
She leaned forwards a little, waiting to see what the Professor would do.

Ubel could almost feel a sort of energy stirring up in him at this offered chance of learning a spell, sitting up straighter and watching with bright eyes as he waited for instruction on how to do this, making sure to commit everything to memory to write it all down later on.

Belwen hurried down the corridor, trying to find the classroom she should have been in already. "Elias ... no ... Elias ... no ..." She was muttering the name, sighing a little on each 'no' as she passed each closed door.
The soles of her shoes hitting the ground echoed a lot louder than she would have liked, but she wasn't about to slow down. She was feeling like she was going to miss the whole class if she didnt speed up!
The instant she seen the letters E-l-i-a-s she darted for the door, quickly pushing it open and entering with a slight bit of thunder as she quickly shut the door behind her. When she noticed the attentive faces and then the teacher, she froze, falling backwards against the door. She had not really measured the magnitude of being this late to her very first class, nor the effect of her disruption. Oh no, what if I just interupted something terribly important!
"S..ss...sorry I'm late, Professor Elias." Her cheeks flushed brightly and she swallowed hard, as her eyes started searching for an empty seat. Quickly, find a place to sit and blend in, hope and pray that no one noticed the ruckus...

Hearing the distrubance broke Elanin out of her 'OOO OOO! I wanna learn how to do magic!' trance, and her head turned towards the new arival. She smiled at her and had to supress a chuckle. She'd been late to class ealier so she knew the feeling all to well. She then turned her head back to the Professor, after all, she didn't want to make the poor girl any more embarrassed.

Aysel frowned at the interruption, thinking the girl horribly rude. Why couldn't she just walk quietly in, if she was going to be late? Or better yet, why couldn't she just be on time...? Aysel sighed, peering at the empty seat next to her out of the corner of her eye and hoping that this...loud student wouldn't choose it for her seat.
She turned her attention back to Elias, but the mood was broken, the excitement gone out of her. Of course, yes, she still wanted to learn a spell...but now she was a bit grumbly, and hoped that that wouldn't cause her to make and foolish blunders.

Crimson eyes flitted momentarily to the new student...ah...so she was late. Dariyn couldn't imagine being late, really, he was rather sure that he'd wish to drop dead on the spot of sheer embarassment...and he flushed just thinking about it.
Then he glanced hesitantly at Aysel, who was sitting next to him. Why was she upset? Perhaps she didn't care for latecomers? He fidgeted just a bit...no...he'd never be late. It seemed to annoy others.

Nadyrr glances over when Belwen arrived a small smile crept onto his face as the student went to get a seat flushed with embarressment. He would have flashed them a reassuring smile but instead he looked back to Elias. There was a sort of freezing within him when it came to interacting with the others, even if it was something so simple as a reassuring smile.

Kallisto looked up, enjoying the class thus far. Magic? That'd be a nice treat. Nodding, she smiled like much of the class was. Then someone walked in and she tilted her head back and to the side to look. A latecomer? Oh well. As long as she didn't get Kallisto in trouble, it was of litle concern.
Turning back to the professor, she leaned forward and rested her chin on the palms of her hands to watch and listen.

Antigone was late as well, it seemed. She'd been able to tear herself away from the book she had been reading. Not that that was any good excuse, she scolded herself as she dashed into the classroom, a flurry of vibrant colors and ribbons. Shooting the professor a sheepish grin, gold eyes scanned the room and quickly zeroed in on her only friend. "Aysel!" she chriped out quietly, sliding into a seat next to her. She pulled out a favored notebook, and with one last grin towards her friend, turned her full attention towards the teacher. For now.

Aysel frowned as yet another latecomer entered, but then squeaked in surprise as she heard her name called, whirling around in her seat to see Antigone rushing to take the seat on her other side. "Antigone..." she whispered with a smile, waving cheerily at her and scooting her chair a bit closer to her friend's. But, she was in class. As much as she'd like to talk to her friend, she had to pay attention, for fear of missing something....especially something with such significance as a spell. And so, she decided she'd catch up with Anti later.

Elias turned smoothly as the two latecomers entered the class. "Ah, how perfect." The professor slithered towards them and held out his hands. "Antigone, Belwen, how nice of you to join us. I'd like the two of you to give a little demonstration. You two are going to cast the Biquintile Spell on me, so the rest of the class can see how it works. So, come along, stand up, and come to the center of the room." Elias made a wide arc and returned to the center of the classroom, a regal and aloof smile on his face. Grave peered at the two girls with jealous eyes. He'd wanted to give the spell a try... Oh well, no harm in mimicking their actions, and casting it too, right? Grave gave Mathiaz a meaningful look and brought his inkpot and quill out and held them hidden in his arms over the smooth surface of the desktop. He'd practise it too...just you wait.

Ubel was startled by the arrival of the two latecomers, flashing a crooked smile at Antigone, before jealousy crept into his gaze when they were informed that they would get to do the spell. A sigh escaped him and he poised his quill, just waiting, watching the two and Elias intently, eager to see how this would go.

Aysel smiled at Ubel, forgetting that she was annoyed with him. This was because she'd seen the jealousy she felt reflected on his face. Why should they be the ones to try the spell? They'd been late! But she also was worried for Antigone. What if something went wrong in the spell and she got hurt?

Nadyrr looked over to the girls and Elias, watching the professor move made him feel strangely and he wasn't quite able to place his finger on why. Although he wanted to be closer to the serpantine professor a thought that made him more nervous then usual he would have hated being in front of the class...he didn't envy the work the girls would have to do at all. Nadyrr fidgeted and forced himself to not watch Elias' movements, instead turning his attention to trying to listen to the spell.
When the teacher turned toward the center of the room Nadyrr gulped seeing the smile on his face, looking quickly to his notebook he readies his pen to take notes. He didn't understand what exactly was wrong wiht him but he would do his best to concentrate on the notes and worry about the rest later.
