i was reading a fanfiction and i clicked the link right as my mom went up and started to read...lets just say it wasn't pretty but i have been addicted ever since and my mom has stopped reading my screen thank god

Truthfully, first reaction was that I thought it was gross. Well, that was shonen-ai, but it was the idea of two men loving each other that I found gross.
Thankfully I've grown up a bit since then.

My first impression? It wasn't specifically yaoi or shonen-ai, but rather a gay OC pairing. I remember that moment; my thoughts and words. All that ran through my mind was, "That is so cool and different!" At the time I was eleven years old, and I didn't even acknowledge that homosexuality existed. I applauded the girl who made the characters, and soon tried it myself... which lead to ban hammer. It was Neopets. Keep in mind we weren't thinking in anime terms. It was only later on that I found out anime had these sorts of things too. o:

The first exposure I had to yaoi was the earthian anime. I had no idea it was yaoi until the sex scene nor did I know yaoi even existed. My reaction...I bust out laughing. After that I discovered fan fics. Now, its all about the manga. I'm hooked. I read it everyday...ah! gonk

When i came across it i was just whaching an amv when i saw this cute couple that i thought was a boy and a girl (yuki and shuichi). So being the naive cirious ol' mah i looked it up and when i first saw them kiss i was liek O.o and bout near choked mah self and ive been hooked ever since wink

My first shonn ai was Gravitation and I though "Wow this interesting." Then I looked up some Gravitation fanfiction and I've been hook ever since.
