Huzzah! I got another trumpet! It's a bach stradivarius! Huzzah!
My other one is a silver yamaha student trumpet. I don't really like playing it anymore, because the sound isn't as good as the other one!^^

Hello fellow trumpeters! ^^; I have only one trumpet and it's a Yamaha. Normal brass color, and I've had it for about 3 years now...hmm....now that I think about it I've had it longer than I thought! o.O; It even has a name. It's name is "Twerp". How did I come up with that name? Well, me and a friend (A french horn player) were looking at our music and noticed at the top it said "Trp", and hers "F hrn" and we try to pronunce them, the "trp" sounded like 'twerp' so I just decided that could be its name... sweatdrop

I have a question for you? Which way is the "more" right or totally right way to hold a trumpet? I've read books that show number one but others that show number two. I personally hold it the number one way but that's just me. sweatdrop

I only have one, a Bach Strat 43. Its not ideal, but it serves its purpose. My brother, on the other hand, plays nearly all of the woodwind instruments and owns nearly as many. Grrrr...

Umm... Number 9, #2 is just weird. The ring on the third vavle slide is meant for the MIDDLE finger, not the ring finger.
*shudders*
#1 all the way.

I've hold it both ways. sweatdrop Depends some times my instructors say one way and sometimes the other. I actually I think I hold it number two way. (There was some reasoning behind this) eek sweatdrop I don't know. I hold my trumpet kind of mindlessly. sweatdrop

Number_09 SheWolfDanielle Honestly, you were playing on a yamaha? A student model yamaha no less. ~shudder~. I feel for you, sweety. eek Dude, I like my Yamaha very much! *hugs Yamaha (most likely) intermediate* Yamaha actually makes really nice "advanced" and professional trumpets. I've met professional trumpet players they make lots of money (and have these cool electronic stands that are like $1000 each and they're like Hand Helds- but stands . . . COOLEST THINGS EVER) and anyways they used Yamahas (really nice yamahas) and they used Bachs but some of them preferred the Yamahas. It's a matter of personal opinion. A lot of people diss Yamaha because it's a beginner brand and they're better quality instruments aren't as widly known as bachs.

I have an intrermediate Yamaha, and it's about 60 times better than my student-model Bach. 3nodding

Actually Yamahas aren't bad at all. They manufacture this wonderful new series called the Xeno. I heard that the New York Philharmonic replaced all over their Bachs with these. I haven't played it, but it must be wonderful. They run around $2500.

It's an awesome pic of Samus, but the mods are going to ask you to shrink it, hon.
