Character: EirResponse: Eir watched the centaur kneel. The gasps and murmurs from the others near by drew her gaze a moment, but quickly it went back to the leader. "No shame in being wrong." Eir said, her tone gentle now. "But sometimes you must change, must adapt. If you never learn to hold a shield, you will never learn to block a strike, right?" It was clear that the centaur was overwhelmed with everything. "I know this is a lot to take in... but perhaps now is the time to change; time to learn something new. Talk to us. One on one if you need." She looked back at those in the cage with her. "I think once everyone has been medically treated, tempers will be cooled. And as long as we aren't on the menu, I for one would be honored to share a meal with you and yours, and do my best to answer any questions you might have." She tried to give the leader a smile. "I don't recall you introducing yourself. What do they call you?"

Character: Latros Response: Latros took a few slow, deep breaths as the spell finished, relaxing back with their legs folded underneath them. They were honestly surprised the spell worked at all, they'd only tried it once before, and that hadn't gone... Well it was safe to assume that the other person didn't just feel a burning sensation at the time.
Still, another small victory, and now people seemed to be talking more calmly and that was probably good too, though they were a little disappointed that they hadn't gotten the centaur lady to snap. They shifted a bit to sit next to Lycos, leaning back on their arms with their tails splayed out behind them as they watched, ears twitching this way and that to keep track of the prisoners and captives that were talking.
Sensing a break in the conversation for a moment, they piped up as well, a little quieter and more subdued than they had been before. "I wouldn't mind talking with you as well, Lady Captor. You would probably get better conversations from others though, especially since my sibling here still seems to be enjoying the mushrooms we found..."

Character:CoralynneResponse: Coralynne had fallen asleep for a very long time. She wasn't even sure of the day or how long she had been out. She did feel rested though and more clear headed then she had been before. Clearing her throat, she looked around for some water to drink. As the world around her become clearer and clearer She remembered that she was still in a cage put there by centaurs. Some wanting to kill them and others wanting to let them go. It seems they are still deciding on that her muse yawned waking up more also. [[Coralynne is open for interaction. ]]

Character:RemiryResponse: Remiry sighed as she watched the others communicate with the Centaur. This all seemed like a waste of time to her. Either the centaurs should have killed them, or they should be trying to escape and finishing whatever they had come here for in the first place. After all, they didn't come here to be trapped in cages for so long did they? And what were the centaurs keeping them alive for anyway? It seemed like these "fierce" centaurs had a hard time actually killing anything, especially if it was able to communicate with them. She sighed, taking a look at the small bug thing that she had managed to accidentally catch while "running away from" the centaurs. Honestly, they were terrible hunters. Sure, they had caught most of the adventuring party, but a better hunter would have killed them on the spot. What were these waiting for? She didn't know, but she waited for death inevitable, hoping that it might cure her boredom while she waited in the cage for... whatever to happen.

Character: EirResponse: When the centaur stood and proudly gave her name, Eir couldn't help but grin. "Aritao Strongback..." she repeated, committing it to memory. She was about to say more when she heard the comment about mushrooms, and then saw Aritao's reaction. "Mushrooms, huh? Maybe that's why your personality seems so defective?" She hadn't met the hallows until now, and had been thinking there was something very wrong with them. But if they ate something weird, that could explain it. She found herself laughing at the whole thing. When Aritao gestured to the cage and it was slowly opened, Eir wasted no time walking out like she was simply leaving her house. "Hey, does this mean we get our stuff back? You know, their medical stuff" she waved idly to Devon and Jin "and my blades? And whatever the others brought." she really didn't know what everyone else had brought with them. Books and clothes, she had assumed. After stretching and shaking out a kink in her shoulders, she leveled her gaze with the centaur. "Hey, I wanted to ask you something." Overhead, she heard the call of that bird she'd found earlier. "... Ok, more then one something actually. I guess first, we found these really big birds while we were in the plains." She didn't know if the others had encountered them as well. "What are they? I wonder if I could ride on one...." She mused the last part to herself before remembering the more pressing things she wanted to ask. "So, where were you and your people during the war? I mean, were you involved?" Did they even know about the war? Or had they gone into hiding long before then. "But if you guys survived this long, you must have some really impressive tactics..." Her eye sparkled in determination. "I still want to spar with you, or even learn to fight like you. I could share what I know too. Heck, I wouldn't mind staying here willingly for a little while to train and teach what I can!" She was actually excited by the notion. Of course, it didn't have to be just fighting. She would likely think of more questions in time, and if any of the centaurs had questions, she'd love to school them on the ways of the world. Her eyes had been opened after the grimm were welcomed back into the world along side the nixies, it would be good to pay it forward.

Character Name: Amity RP Response:
Amity was wary of trusting the centaurs leading them back to the cages where their party was. So far they hadn’t been deceitful, but with little experience to inform them otherwise, she didn’t exactly breathe a sigh of relief until the cage came into view, and moreover, the doors opened. Amity made her way to the cages quickly, eyes scanning over everyone she saw with a shaky grin.
While others were injured, it seemed like they weren’t down any men. In fact, it looked like they’d even found the original missing team (minus perhaps a crucial limb or two). Amity glanced to the lead centaur, cracking a crooked smile. “Sorry for the tents.” She offered, looking back at the group. “And… thank you. For seeing us for who we are, not… what we are.” Coming off the adrenaline high of terror, chasing, and then the giddy exhiliration of successfully messing up some of their camp, Amity couldn’t quite stop herself from the grin widening on her face.
They’d done it. Holy crap, they’d rescued the original team, no one died, and only a few party members appeared to be maimed.
(Amity is open for interaction with any and all of ya’ll)

Character: Amarith RP Response: To put it bluntly, Amarith was suspicious of the freedom suddenly being offered to them. Certainly Aritao had seemingly changed her tune and had claimed she would not see them killed, but the fact that in spite of the very proof of the clothes on their back they had been spoken about as if they were lesser than the savages who had hunted them for sport made her doubt. Claimed them to be animals, to be weak when they had civilization and the centaurs were living in the most primitive culture yet uncovered to her knowledge.
She didn't say any of this of course, and it could have just been her anger making her think such thoughts that she might even come to regret later, but she wasn't feeling all that charitable when the first place she'd have to go after this was the hospital--assuming of course that this wasn't a trick.
"Where are the things you stole from us?" She asked through her teeth as she limped out of the cage, trying not to show her pain too openly. "Our packs and supplies. We want them back."

Character: Latros Response: Latros smirked a bit, patting their sibling's shoulder, unsure if they were well again yet. "I think I had less than Lycos here did, but it was a wild ride to be sure." They still weren't sure if they liked these centaurs, with all the legs and all. Twelve was way too many legs, in their opinion. And why so many eyes, yet a seemingly dislike for the two hybrids? They watched as the leader's eyeball-covered pelt blinked at random. Gross.
The hybrid looked around a bit, patted their pockets, and sort of shrugged. "If I had anything on me, it's probably not worth much. Might as well keep it, if it doesn't bite you." They weren't quite sure if they had anything of value to be honest. Perhaps a few spiderlings still making a nest in their empty wallet, but they were certain most had migrated to other places already.

Pakaha LightspiritPakaha made way for Aritao to engage the captives. He held back as the clan leader spoke, watching and listening to the back and forth dialogue between her and prisoners. Dialogue was something. He knew that for as strong-willed and stubborn as Aritao was, she had more heart and compassion than any other clan leader... or than she would like to admit. After a minute or two, Pakaha smelt smoke from beyond the trees. He withdrew to the edge of the clearing and peered through the foliage. A barely perceptible glow filled the dark undergrowth. Trouble was brewing. It could only mean one thing: the escape prey. The shaman unwound the beads from his staff and clasped them in his hands. Bowing his head, he pressed them to his lips. Ancestors be willing, they would find a way through this. All of them. - - - Aritao's announcement and following resignation struck a chord in the shaman. Pakaha trotted to the leader's side, and—gesturing loosely to his once more beaded staff—whispered into her ear. He then bowed and touched her elbow before turning to the former prisoners. “Your possessions will be returned to you... biting or not.” The centaur shot a disgruntled if not amused look towards the unusual hybrid. “And I'll see to it that the doctor gets what assistance he needs for treating your injuries. As soon as you are ready to travel, we can escort you through our lands.”

After having their items returned and wounds somewhat tended to, the survivors of the first expedition team and the (mostly) in tact second team were sent out of the Lost Lands. Aritao Strongback warned them that they may not be welcome should they return - although her herd would not harm them, she cannot control the actions of the other Centaurs spread through the forests and mountains.
As the carriages pulled away and the forest became little more than a blur, Clare watched dozens of the large birds of the centaurs scatter into the skies. Messengers. It was hard to believe that they had seen the last of the Centaurs...
