Username: Embi-lamb Nightmare: Cain Prompt Answer:Cain was in shock. The litch that had gone before him had come up with the exact same game as him. His whole face went entirely pale as the imp crumpled up his slips of papers in his hand. What was he supposed to do now? The imp slowly got to his feet when it was his turn, and stalked his way to the front of the class and turned to face his peers, feeling everyone's eyes boring in to him. "Eeeer, soooo ... " Cain tried his best to think on his feet. "We're going to make this a musical." he said unexpectedly. "We're going to go through the class, and we're gonna get some music going, and each person in the room has to sing a random noun to the melody of the song. The next person will come up with their own noun to sing, and the both of you will have to sing your comparison -- or metaphor, together! This is how we'll pick our pairs. It'll be fun, I promise!"Nobody looked intrigued. Cain's heart lurched and he felt his pulse against his throat. Greeaaat. This was going so swimmingly.

Username: ashes to the wind Nightmare: LyraEntry: It was always a good day when a movie was shown. It gave everyone a break and they were allowed to relax a bit. Unless there were questions to be answered during the movie.... Luckily, the teacher had spared them all. Lyra wasn't the only one that was excited and she could see that. Her little tail swept at the floor under her while she sat. She still took notes, even though they weren't required. She enjoyed the cheesiness the video provided and still made sure to try to absorb the information between silly doodles. "Verbs are action words~" She sang quietly to herself.

Username: Koiasi Nightmare: Malloe Entry:  Malloe was happy to hear that it was video time during class! Excitedly, they sat on their desk, waiting for the video to start. This was definitely a good break from all the tests lately and they couldn't help but love their teacher for it! They couldn't wait to tell their mother what they got to do during class today. She'd be so jealous! Malloe smiled, pulling their legs close to themself as the video started, their full attention on the screen ahead of them.

Username: Koiasi Nightmare: Talus Entry:  Since Talus was new he wasn't quite sure of the general practices one had in schools in the below. He had heard the teacher mention this was a break from all the tests that the kids had been having lately. Talus wasn't sure he had ever watched a video during school before, but it seemed like they had come to the Academy at the right time, though he imagined it was more of a break for the teacher than actually for the students. Still, he sat neatly at his desk, enjoying the small little video instead of having a test that he had no way of studying for.

Username: Cerl Temius Nightmare: Hawthorn Entry:  Hawthorn watched the video with its colourful learning tools and cutely animated characters and squinted. Why were they trying to make language 'fun'? Language was a tool, one with strict rules, and it should be taken seriously. He flipped his notebook open just the same and tried to get around his nerves grating at the silly rhymes for the actual facts hidden amongst the drivel:
~verbs are used for action
~transitive verbs require an actor to perform them
~intransitive verbs act of their own accord
~i.e. I open the door vs the door opens.
~nouns can be people, places, or things
~nouns can be subjects or objects of a sentence
Hrm...well, at least he learned a few new tidbits.

Bambina was quite surprised to find a substitute teacher in place of Miss Lyra, their usual Language Arts teacher. The demon had called out sick, apparently, and this caused the hybrid to frown with worry. What was she sick with? How did she obtain her illness, and was it contagious? All questions related to the science behind illness ran through the young girl's head, and she had a hard time focusing as the substitute explained their assignment. Shaking her head to push back her thoughts, Bina focused in on the substitute's words, and nodded in understanding when she found out that she had to write a get-well letter. It seemed simple enough.
Dear Miss Lyra,
The replacement teacher for you said that you were sick. I'm sad that you can't come to class; I enjoy learning from you. What sort of illness did you contract? Did the doctor say how long it will take you to get better? Please make sure to drink lots of fluids and eat lots of fruits and vegetables. We don't want you to be gone for long. It's never the same when a replacement fills in for the regular teacher. Some students slack off or cause trouble, and it's annoying...
But yes! Please get better soon, and try to relax! I miss you very much.

Once she was finished writing her letter, the goblin and bakeneko hybrid paused in order to give the assignment a once-over. Satisfied, she nodded and then walked up to the substitute with the letter in her hand. "Here you go," she told them, casting a sullen look to the sub. "...I hope she gets better soon."

He thought long and hard about how he could help his teacher feel better. "I know, I'll write her a note!" he happily exclaimed. Prompt Answer: Honey spared a moment or two to feel a bit of sympathy for their usual teacher, Lyra, before promptly muttering with their friends as to how to prank the substitute. Unfortunately it was decided that the class would go to the library, a location often prowled by other teachers that might notice Honey's mischievous activities. With a bit of a pout, Honey strolled over to the many shelves and let out a preemptive yawn. Honey was by no means unintelligent, they just didn't get the pleasure out of reading that some people did. Scrunching up their eyes and waving their hand in front of them vaguely, Honey selected a book at random. Hardly daring to look, they opened one eye and examined the cover. They let out a snigger and shook their head, "'The Ancestry of Anthophila'. Bees. The universe sure has a sense of humour."

While Rae was slightly disappointed that there would be no lecture or any kind of work to do, he was still incredibly thrilled that he would be able to spend this time in the library. There was just something about the smell of old books that made him feel a childlike sense of wonder. He walked briskly in between the shelves, looking for anything that caught his eye that would be a new read for him. Sadly most things he took interest in he had already read everything that he could find. Maybe he'd have to move on and take a leap of faith on something else? To be fair, most books he enjoyed so nothing was really off the table for him.
The fallen closed his eyes and ran his fingers over the spines of several books before pulling one out. 'Self Esteem for Dummies' Esrael shook his head lightly and sighed, of all the books he had to choose...this was the one fate had thrown at him? Maybe it would be a good read, he knew that he had major self doubt. However, all the 'For Dummies' books typically had him rolling his eyes. Who knows, maybe he could actually learn a thing or two that would be worthwhile. He took his book and found the nearest table, cracking it open and reading it with doubt in his heart.

The assignment for the day was super easy, and he was sure the notes from the students would brighten Lyra's day. So he scooped up a couple crayons in colors he thought she would like and wrote a letter. "Miss Lyra," he started. "Please get better because being sick sucks. Sincerely, Darrah." Short, sweet, and to the point.

 Username: Strawberri Stardust Nightmare: Hadrian Entry: Hadrian wrinkled his nose. He didn't like it when his teachers were sick. Substitutes weren't always fun. But at least this one wanted to do something nice for their usual teacher. Hadrian picked up some colored pencils and doodle music notes onto a sheet of paper for his note to Lyra. "Get better soon, Miss Lyra! I hear music is helpful to make you feel better! See you soon."

 Username: Strawberri Stardust Nightmare: Sid Prompt Answer: He hated that their teacher was sick, but he was pretty cool with reading his book, too. Pulling the volume from his bag, Sid settled back to read the chapter. It didn't take him long to get through it, so soon he was writing his summary. "In this chapter, the princess heir ran away from the queendom and assumed a false identity so she could go to school for kids to learn how to be a soldier. She also found out that her best friend since they were kids, the boy she's also pretty sure she's in love with, is now magically bound to her and they can't actually be together because the bond prevents him from doing anything that could harm the line of queens she's born from."

 Username: Strawberri Stardust Nightmare: Lestari Prompt Answer: Lestari wrinkled her nose; being sick was no fun and most of the time, neither were substitutes. She hoped Lyra got better soon as she browsed the sections of the library. At least she could find a book about fashion to keep her occupied. She picked up one that had several different dresses on the front, entitled Fashions From the Past. It was definitely fashions from seasons she hadn't even been born for, but she could see some trends had repeated themselves... Maybe she could bring some of the others back in her own designs. Retro was always cool, after all.
