Seika Murakami  Defeated, she came back. Her ferocity and anger were the only things that kept her going despite the bleeding wounds... but still, it didn't bode well with her to go back to Iwatodai...back to him... with bad news. People were losing faith as it were... they didn't need to see her limping back, crimson droplets leaving a trail behind her. Still... she had made a promise to him... and even if she had really considered not returning in her shame... she couldn't do that to him. Not to him.
She pushed herself to keep walking... keep standing, but that Doof Warrior had been vicious. Her hand pressed against her side, fingers red with her blood, and the girl cursed. She had been careless... and she had paid for it. Her ashen eyes looked up to find him just ahead...and her heart sank. She really...didn't want him to see her like that. "I am sorry..." her voice came out in a pained whisper... her head swimming. The girl leaned against a wall... sliding down to the ground with a groan. Rest... she just needed some rest.  "Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."He saw her return and his heart leaped in his chest...and even when he could read from her body language that she hadn't been successful, he was just happy that she had returned to him at all. Swiftly his feet carried him to her side and he called out his devil Lucifer Frost to cast some healing magic upon her. The wound in her side would mend shortly with a restorative power this strong, but the one in her heart might not be so easily healed. But he wasn't upset with her or disappointed...he knew that whomever she had to have fought was overwhelming, like so many of their enemies. Together, they could take another shot at it if they had the chance. And together, he was sure that nobody could beat them.
"Aa...it isn't over," he nodded and looked out into the city and back into the shelter where there were still people surviving, still people with hope in their hearts despite the hopelessness of it all, "They are strong...and you are even stronger. Seika Murakami "You are too nice, Hatsu..." Her wounds were starting to mend, and his presence soothed her. He could always calm her... give her hope... and Seika loved him for it. ... Had she actually said...? I-it wasn't important right now.
She looked at him and nodded, letting out a sigh though. Despite it all, the sting of defeat was a difficult wound to erase. "You are right. I can't give up now... I won't. I won't leave you alone." She had made up her mind... she would do anything for him.
Even risk her own life to save his when the Septentrione attacked. Just like in that same instant. Her eyes widened at the sight of Benetnasch, pushing Hatsu out of the way of the upcoming attack. She took his wrist and pulled him with her as King Frost and Jack Frost bought them just enough time to run and hide. "Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you.""Into the alley, quick!" a voice called out as Seika pulled them out of the way of Benetnasch's attack, and when the couple drew near they saw that it was none other than their defeated former-leader, Ronaldo, waving them in to safety. "I'm glad you're both safe. I shouldn't be here...officially, I've had to withdraw from the competition. But I just wanted to thank you both for all that you have done. And for continuing to fight, even after I lost. I want to keep fighting...but knowing that the two of you and Rikkio stopped Hotsuin...I can rest easier." He nodded once and smiled, extending a hand that Hatsu took and shook firmly, before stepping back and away. "I'm going back to the shelter...I'll protect the people from the demons, but nothing more. The creation of a new world...I'll leave that to you.'
Though his heart was beating fast from the near death, Hatsu could only nod in agreement...and smile faintly, looking at Seika as the man thanked them both for still fighting. "Aa...stay safe, Ronaldo," he told him with a nod, before turning his head to Seika with a faint smile...reminding her, reinforcing her, with his belief in what she could do, "Leave the rest to us." Seika Murakami She had been surprised to see him there. His presence wasn't entirely unwelcomed though, Seika thanking he had saved them from that near death experience. She listened as Hatsu and Ronaldo talked, giving them their space. Still... when her companion turned to her, the redhead nodded...understanding what he was trying to say. They were strong... and they had their faith in them. Seika couldn't betray that. She would fight for Hatsu...for his new world.
The Septentrione returned not long after... and the girl stood in front of Hatsu... "Run. I'll distract him."

"Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."Benetnasch...it was back, almost as though it had it out for his companion after the last near-death...but this time as she prepared to accept the death that had been decreed for her (after Ronaldo had gone), Hatsu wrapped an arm around her shoulder and pulled her out of the way of its first attack, grabbing a rock and simply throwing it at the Septentrione...hoping that in its simplicity the act would be so audacious that it would stun the thing long enough for them to retreat. And when it didn't immediately wind back up and wipe them both off the face of the Earth...he seemed to perhaps have managed just what he intended!
"The other side of the alley!" he called out, noting that it was a long alley and Benetnasch would have a fair distance to circle around before it could try to pursue them if they ran out the other end and circled towards the shelter. It might not work, but it would give them some space to work with...which was more than they had right now. He didn't waste any more time and was already on the move by the time he had finished talking, ensuring that she came with him...nobody left behind. Seika Murakami She had Hatsu to thank for that... but she couldn't help the frustration in her chest at having to be saved over and over. That monster...they had to kill it soon if they wanted to survive this. They would run out of luck sometime soon...

They were saving lives, they were surviving, but there were so many dangers out there threatening them...so many times that they had been forced to save one another that it was starting to feel to both of them like they couldn't stand on their own. That wasn't the case and he knew it, but still...she needed reminding. She needed to understand.
What could he do except help her to defeat the monster that was plaguing them?

Seika Murakami Seika did as he asked of her and took a deep breath... letting out a long exhale. It did nothing to calm her down, but it at least cleared her mind enough to go and try her luck with Trumpeter. Hatsu had tried being nice...so perhaps a different approach would do something for them.
...It didn't.

"Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."Hatsu winced as the wall near the summoning terminal cracked under the force of Seika's fists; he wasn't sure that was the healthiest thing for her knuckles but even he knew that trying to stop her from unleashing her rage at a time like this was just a suicide mission. He was brave, but he wasn't suicidal. And so he kept his mouth shut as she tried to calm herself down and considered another way to try and call out to the Trumpeter. Something they hadn't done yet...but what?
"Aa...maybe if we beat it up and made it listen?" ...Surely that wouldn't work, right? If nothing else works, maybe roughin' it up a bit won't be that bad of an idea at all?" a lazy voice came from behind the two, a man putting his hand on Hatsu's shoulder to reveal none other than a man called Joe, "Hey hey, guys. Sorry that I couldn't hold out with Ronnie earlier against those guys from Yamato's faction...or was it Daichi's? They came at us pretty hard, and it was all we could do not to die. In fact, I think I kind of did die for a minute there...but anyhoo, I'm on their side now. It's a shame, but I have to do what I've got to do. You guys keep doin' what you're doin', though. I really do believe in Ronnie's idea, even if he was goin' a bit too far. Welp, later!"
Hatsu wasn't sure about much of what had just happened, but at the least, he was glad that Joe wasn't dead. Still, the idea that it was just he, Seika, and Kyuzo left of the original team was really driven home knowing that even Joe was on Daichi's team now. He had gotten along with the striped-hatted man since the very beginning. It sucked to be in this position now. But they would do just what Joe had said...they'd fight on. They would survive. They would see their world fulfilled or fight until the very end for that ideal.
