Soft, wet breathing, and no response, and Jordan slunk around the edge of the garden, following the wall, unsheathing one dagger almost absently. Was it real? Was it a distraction? He would not be taken off guard. He couldn't leave yet. Four pools. He had drunk twice from one. Was that one, or two? Best to be sure. Best not to die because he'd been careless. His eyes roved over the greenery, and the water from the pool he dipped his hand into shone a gentle emerald green. It tasted like nothing, and the voices whispered into his ear, so tired, and he didn't notice that his coat hung loose on his shoulders, his frame now painfully lean. He darted a glance around, looking for someone, anyone. He was alone. Was he alone? He was always alone. "Who's there?" he demanded again of the breathing stillness on the radio waves. Quote: You drink from the pool of youth. Every single time you take a sip from the pool, your (physical and mental) age decreases by three years as does your maturity. If coupled with the pool of age, it resets your age and then subtracts it by three. If you hit 1 year somehow, you stay at that.

[ Pool of Sleep ]
This place seemed considerably less unnerving than the place they had been in before.
... Though the drink me motif was certainly familiar ... At least it was from a time before Wonderland was full of strange clone mannequins that eventually would kill him. That whole dream, the more he thought about it, only because more and more bizarre.
Ignatius looked down at his hands and shook them, relieved that he could see the glow coming from his markings again. While it was interesting to not see them for a little while, he preferred having the glow than not. In fact, he thought it was part of what made him awe -- he was with people now, don't get distracted Ignatius. It looked like they decided on the purple pool, so Ignatius shrugged and walked over, dipping his glowing hands into the water and sipping some of it himself.
... Whoa ...
Ignatius gave off an uncontrolled, slurred laugh. "Mm, yeah, this isn't so bad at all! Bren, drink up~" His voice sounded just a little too sing-song, laughter bubbling from his throat again.

There was a quiet whimper followed by the shuffle of fabric from one corner of the room. America tried to hide, tried to escape notice.

"I can hear you," Jordan whispered. Quiet, so that he could catch small sounds. "Where are are you? Do you think you can sneak up on me? You won't." He turned his head, seeking, and dipped his hand into the pool again to drink. The change was noticeable this time, an alteration in height, the world a little taller, and when he looked down at himself, he saw that he was smaller, slighter, his arm thin and unscarred, as if time had run backward. "What are you doing to me?" he whispered, forgetting for a moment that he was looking for anyone. Quote: You drink from the pool of youth. Every single time you take a sip from the pool, your (physical and mental) age decreases by three years as does your maturity. America watched as the boy became even more boy and tensed. She had to run. She had to run. Even if everything else was terrible she could always run away from it. Screwing her eyes shut, the girl heaved herself up, stumbling and nearly falling over her clothes as she dashed toward the exit. Anywhere, she thought desperately. Anywhere but here. She ran into him with a high, terrified scream and tried to keep going. Running until there was once again water in her hands and the desperate hope for a way out. Older once more, and if she was still terrified, at least now she wasn't small. Now she wasn't helpless. "Don't.... don't you ******** come near me," the woman hissed into her headset. (+5 years, ++ fear)

Someone slammed into him, and Jordan stumbled and nearly fell. When he got his balance back, he whipped around, looking for the small figure that had attacked him, his eyes darting across the greenery. "Don't try it," he hissed. It was real, someone was real, someone had hit him; it had looked like a child and maybe they had drunk from the water and maybe they had not. Some of the monsters were small, smaller than an adult human when fully mature, and there was no way to be sure. There must be a way to reverse it. Maybe the first pool had been the antidote, an antidote that had had no effect when no poison existed in his system, and he slipped back along the wall, his dagger held in front of him, his back never exposed to the room. He had to step away from it to drink again, but he remained on edge, nerves strung tense. The voice hissed through his headset, don't you ******** come near me, and it sounded different and the same all at once, why had it changed? "Stay away from me," he snapped, and put his back to the wall again. It hadn't worked. The water hadn't worked. Why hadn't it worked? Whose fault was that? "Stay away from me, I don't want to hurt you." Quote: You drink from the pool of Insanity. Every single time you take a sip from the pool, your thoughts become more and more irrational. At first it isn't too bad but the feeling compounds until you are literally talking to people who do not exist in the room, and feel a strange compound of agitation and paranoia. You are easily excited into attacking.

"Yes you do," she hissed, aggressive with fear and then she was running again, she couldn't stay in any one place too long. It wasn't safe. He could be anywhere. They could be anywhere. Another mouthful of water, and she could hear Taym's sneering taunt over the headset again. "You didn't let me count to ten."Her chest constricted and America opened her mouth to maybe challenge it, to maybe once again get lost in please and no don'ts. But then that voice, that nasal, malevolent drawl sounded behind her, his breath hot against the back of her neck. "You didn't let me count to ten." With a startled scream, she ran, rattling doors and dashing past pools, desperate and half blind in panic. He was right behind her, always so quiet on his feet but she knew he was back there. Fingers gently brushed the back of her hand and with a choked sob, America dashed through the exit and promptly collapsed as the fear that had propelled her gave out, leaving her shocked and confused and eighteen once more. rejam she peaced the ******** out he will be in her nightmares for awhile i hope ur happy (+5 years, ++ fear, + insanity)

The sound of screaming, and then, and then silence again, and perhaps the voice had vanished, or perhaps the voice was simply hiding in wait. Jordan scuttled across open spaces to another pool. It was reversible, it must be reversible, if he grew too young he would cease to exist and someone was trying to kill him - he scooped a handful of shining purple liquid and drank, and remembered four and this was three and he had to find the antidote before he could leave. A drowsy wave washed over him, his eyelids drooping, the sense of palpable sleepiness wrapping around his head like a soft and buzzing veil. "No," he choked, and would have spit the water back out if he could have, but he had already swallowed the handful. Poison. He was being poisoned. He was growing younger and dying, and wasn't it funny that he'd always thought it would be the other way around? Quote: You drink from the pool of sleep. Every single time you take a sip from the pool, you fall into a dream-like state where everything seems surreal, much like being drunk. All words get slurred/ hard to say. If coupled with the water from the pool of fear, you enter a strange, crazy, acid-trip nightmare world.

One more. One more and he could go, and this one was a deep rich blue, and through the buzzing drowsing haze he could barely think, even though something was hunting him, even though he was dying. He scooped a handful of water and drank it and watched numbly as the world distorted around him, the garden rising monstrously up and twisting into too-bright colors. He couldn't breathe. He had to get out. He was dying and he didn't want to die here, he wanted to go home. He ran, striking out at grasping vining hands with the dagger held white-knuckle tight in one hand, and he would never afterward know how he had found the door, but it opened for him and he stumbled through and fell as the world reverted to normal, as his body became its familiar size and shape and the scars redrew themselves. He picked himself up slowly and put his back against the wall, sitting huddled in a small ball, the dagger still clutched in one hand as he fought to calm himself. Quote: You drink from the pool of fear. Every single time you take a sip from the pool, your heart begins to pound a little faster. At first it isn't too bad but the feeling compounds until even the smallest squeak will terrify you. If coupled with the water from the pool of sleep, you enter a strange, crazy, acid-trip nightmare world.

[ Pool of Age ]
While he could still identify that something was wrong here, it seemed he no longer cared. This was the dream he'd hoped for, and as his friends joined him at the edge of the purple pool, a slow grin invaded his face, stolen from a happier Brenley.
"Not so bad," he echoed muzzily, turning to Piper then Ignatius then Piper again, both of them little more than fuzzy blobs in his recovering eyes. "I did drink," he continued, addressing the boil while looking at the ghoul. Did the ghost want him to drink more? "Drink more." Right. They had to do that or they would die or something. Okay.
Bren pointed off in the direction of the nearest open door. "I'm going to do that." He shuffled off, absolutely certain he was telling them he'd meet them back here once he'd drank all the things, but in reality remaining completely silent. Marveling at the deep ruby hue of the next pool he found, he dropped to his knees very, very carefully and took a sip. As he swallowed, his skin began to crawl, limbs lengthening and layering with slightly less nerd-grade muscle. The whole process felt pretty gross, to be honest, but not unbearable. Still, he stayed where he was, watching the ripples that marred the pool's surface every time someone drank.

[Entering] Oh no...she got separated from Dakota again... Once more Molly bit her lip nervously as she examined the new room she had gotten placed into, and found herself a bit at ease. It was a really pretty room...almost like something she'd see out of her history books back at school...she thought. Hrm. She stared at the sign, and kept staring until it appeared to become readable and gasped. More sipping...huh? This was...quite the odd mission. Orders were orders...She knelt by a pool that reflected a lovely lavender color and cupped her hands claim some water and she took a sip. Immediately she felt her eye lids droop, and wobbled at the water's edge. "Oh...Ifeel...soshleepy...." Pools: 1 / 4 Total Rolls: 1 / 10 Other Stuff: Sleep.

Somehow Molly managed to climb back to her feet, swaying as she made her way from one pool to another. This one had a green reflection. "I...lovegreen...!" She clumsily fell to her knees in front of it, and repeated the process. She scooped some water in her hands, and took a sip... ... She didn't feel any different...maybe a bit less tired...maybe? Oh...maybe not. Oh well! Pools: 2 / 4 Total Rolls: 2 / 10 Other Stuff: Sleep, youth (age 20)

She got up and moved into another room, also with a green pool. Molly really wasn't complaining...she loved the color green! She knelt once more, and took another sip...and this time she did feel different. Still sleepy but...more...youthful? Did that even make sense!? She kind of felt, right now...like she was back in highschool... Hm... Maybe it had something to do with these pools? It kind of did remind her of the pool in her high school. Molly blinked sleepily as she stared at the pool, and then stumbled to her feet and moved on. Pools: 2 / 4 Total Rolls: 3 / 10 Other Stuff: Sleep, youth (age 20), youth (age 17)

Oooh...this one was blue! Before she knelt, Molly did pause to squint at the pool, just to make sure, and then smiled. She liked the color blue, too. The trainee knelt at the water's edge, and cupped her hands to take a sip. The effects were immediate. Her heart beat faster and immediately the room warped into a myriad of colors and dancing shadows that seemed threatening. Molly gasped, shooting up from her spot, and immediately scurried to the next room in hopes it'd get her away from...whatever that was. "He should smile more," she commented to Ignatius with a sagacious nod. "Yo, Bren, smile more. You look cuter that way instead of all . . . not so cute." There we go, use your words.
With some relaxants going through her, Piper breezed through the door and didn't at first get concerned that the sorceror wasn't on the other side, because frankly it seemed the more they got lost, the more likely they'd all find each other anyway. There was a green pool this time, which made her question vaguely if it was even clean (like, full of algae and plant stuff and all), but she was thirsty and the door had specific instructions, so off she went.
It didn't make her feel better, but it did make her feel smaller. In a blink, Piper had shrunk by a mere inch and her hair had shrunk by a good four; it was still as poofy cloud around her head, but not anything like the majestic thing she had now. Her tattoos were almost all gone as well save for several simple gold ones at her feet.
"Oh my Jack," said the higher pitched and slightly dazed mage to the air, grinning. "I'm so cute, you guys."
