The green haired instructor made her rounds over to the next pair to call for her attention. There was a long moment in which she appraised how the pair worked, noting how Tala tried her best for her side, but the young male seemed more wrapped up in trying to strike up conversation with the girl. She couldn't help but be amused, a brow raised as she readied her bucket and advanced on the pair. Thankfully it was a nice enough day getting drenched wouldn't be so bad and would quickly dry. it was just too tempting to miss out on. "Are you sure about that?" Ervette loomed over them before turning the bucket over, pouring the contents onto the unsuspecting trainees. "I dunno, looks like the chance of rain and sleepless nights are pretty high chances..." Her crack at making a funny might have been lost on t he two she'd just soaked, but it didn't keep her from giving them both a little wink. "Make sure you tie that down better next time, and actually wrap it around eh? I'd hang your coats to dry by the way." she backed off whistling innocently as she went back to making her rounds. Yamashii Ervette is just like .... *STARES* emotion_dowant NaomiNaomi Poor Tala ilu guys sorry LOL <3

[2 = waterproof 4 = sturdiness]Preacher was going to murder him, slowly, while he slept. Or something. She sighed. She was just glad he hadn't brought up that stupid night with the humiliating tears - ********, even thinking about it made her squirm. And it looked like operation Harper wasn't working either. Preacher was done. Her toes curled in her boots. Sighing, she pulled the tarp out into a v shape, weighting the edges with heavy rocks. "Yeahhhh," she said, sarcasm dripping off every word. "A blanket on a rope don't make a tent, ya lackwit." Grunting, she heaved a rather large rock onto the last corner. The tent now fluttered open. It still sagged in the middle but it would do. She hoped. Putting two fingers to her lips, she whistled piercingly. "Instructor! Come n' test our tent afore I kick it down!" Bending, she unrolled the bed roll and stuffed it inside. With a huff, she wriggled inside after it. "Does this even fit two peoples?"

Shakuntala followed Hwan's lead, tidying up the area about them as best as she could. She dumped an armful of wood onto the pile set up off to the side and kicked loose bits of leaves and smaller sticks off into the thickets of the forest. Turning about, she nodded her head in acceptance of the rope he had tied about their shelter, and approached him with the intention of entering the shelter too, but there was a bit of a problem: it was smaller than she expected it to be. Shakuntala gave him a bewildered look as she was dragged along inside.
Skin to skin contact had her on edge, but the touch of any other part of the body to another spooked her like a horse."B-b-bodies aren't... B-bodies aren't supposed to w-work this way...!" she cried with a blush as she flailed and attempted to scramble away. Shakuntala was torn between rushing out as fast as she could and remaining inside per orders from Ervette. So she ended up in a crooked pose when her work partner called for their instructor, causing her feeble attempts at getting away to pause.
And then the water came; a torrent that first seeped through the wood and than came crashing upon both of them. Shakuntala gasped as if she was coming up for air after being drenched, using the moment afterward to rush out as quickly as she could. She shook herself to wring out the water and then glanced down to her soaking with a bedraggled sigh. "This is all your fault!" Shakuntala wanted to huff at Hwan, but knew she couldn't. Half of the work was hers, after all, and forcing him to shoulder most of the blame was wrong. She only felt that way because the boy had her on edge since the start of their partnership.
Shakuntala's anger deflated to a drop of the shoulders. "Y-yes, ma'am," she said to Ervette in acknowledgement to their unsatisfactory shelter, slipping off her jacket and seeking out a branch to have it dry. Looking over to Hwan after seeking out a limb, she scratched the back of her head, and said, "S-so, um... I... The next part... First aid... D-do you want the broken leg? Or s-should it be... me?"

Wow, Preacher had actually dropped it. It was surprising enough that Axel hardly even noticed her sarcastic insults. Mollified, Axel bent and squashed himself into the tent after her. Thanks to the sagging middle and haphazard arrangement of rocks pinning down the corners, it was a tight fit. Cozy. And the warm yellow light filtering through the blood-spattered sagging canvas walls was cheerful and sort of romantic. Squished up shoulder to shoulder with Preacher, Axel leaned in closer to her. He had never learned to let things go with the fearsome girl. As soon as she stopped digging at him, he felt the irresistable urge to dig at her. "Y'know I turned Harper down because of you, right?" Axel whispered, his lips brushing against Preacher's cheek. Then he turned away, wrapped his arms around his knees and stared innocently into the distance, or at least into a interesting brown water stain on the side of the canvas tent. The water stain seemed to bode ill for the next part of the test. leon_a_darkangel [[2 = waterproof 4 = sturdiness]]

"More experience?" He grinned widely, teeth flashing in his dark face. "Hardly. Like you, I'm flying by the seat of my pants, Lil. Ohhh, can I call you that? Or do you prefer Lillian? It is an elegant name, after all. You can call me Alister, Al, any sort of nickname you like - I'm very unpicky. Ah~ I'm so used to the city that being out here is somehow kind of nice! Although... I do like being near the walls." He sighed almost dreamily. "Where are you from?" Alister hummed happily as he deftly looped the rope around one low-hanging branch. It was a little higher than he liked, but it would have to do. "Ah, catch!" He tossed the free end of the rope to Lillian. "If you could tie that end around the branch right near you? I must say it's fantastic that we're both kind of Amazonian in height. I guess, really, it's you only, since they were females, so I've got the wrong equipment to be apart of that." Alister chuckled and pulled on the rope to test it's strength. The movement caused his shirt to ride up even further. He moved closer to Lillian, tarp in hand. "And I've been meaning to say," he said conversationally, wrinkling his nose at her in delight. "That you've got the most amazing eyes! They're so unique." Alister leaned towards her before catching himself and straightening back up with a laugh.

"Preacher, don't be kicking it down before I can get a good look now. Watchya two got here lemme see.." Ervette laughed, shaking her head at the younger woman. Again the woman was ready bucket in hand and a coy look on her face. Inspecting the shelter structure she was mildly impressed, they'd done well and seemed to know what they were doing. However, based on the rest of the setup and how they'd laid the tarp she already had a good idea it would leak. Standing before the navy haired girl and the blonde taller man the woman waited until both were inside the shelter, before rudely turning the bucket over and pouring water on it. For a moment, it seemed like the tarp would hold, but much to the likely dismay of the trainees below several beads dripped onto then both as the structure simply was not as complete as need in this instance. "Close..but not close enough. Here." She reached over, adjusting the ties so the rope was better secure, taking out the dip in the center of the tarp instead of pooling water all in the middle it would harmlessly run off the edge. Backing off a bit she looked between the two, she'd kept an eye on them, having heard their history for a bit of violence. The fact they were accomplishing tasks together was good, having team mates at each others throats was the last thing the instructor wanted to deal with. "Alright, you two can head onto first aid when your ready." Crossing her arms a bit she looked thoughtful before moving along, not fussing t hem for their close proximity. She'd separate them if needed, she was content to let them work it out like adults.

Lenore crawled out of the makeshift tent and walked over to the crates of medical supplies. Finding the one intended for her and Zin, she lifted it up and brought it over to her partner. Setting it on the ground, she tilted her head. "I'm guessing we're supposed to just pretend that we're injured. Do you want to be the "injured" one first, or should I...? We're supposed to have sprained wrists." The girl said, reminding the older one in case she had forgotten.

In response to all of Larisa's questions, Jeong smiled and nodded reassuringly along until she finished speaking. Then with a bright and clear voice he replied.
"No idea."
He returned to digging at the ground with a calm expression, unconcerned about the lack of a plan. Since this was a class they weren't in any real danger and could take all the time they needed to experiment. Obviously they wanted to finish before sun down but by then it'd be dark enough for them to pretend it'd been waterproof anyway. Tossing the dirt to the side into a pile, he continued to form the dip in the ground, widening it to allow them to lay inside. It was sweaty work and definitely not something to be done quickly but if he figured out the most efficient way to set this up before graduating it wouldn't be a problem in the future.
"Time for the tarp." About fifteen minutes later he deemed the space suitable for the next step and gestured for Larisa to help him lay the material over their den. It was going to be awkward to get into but after a few tests they managed to deem it enough space to fit inside. The tarp stretched out over their ditch and he began to cover the edges with dirt from the pile they'd made. It wasn't super secure at first but after piling more on it began to hold better. Placing a few rocks at what he deemed to be good support points, it was the best he could do with only amateur knowledge and a lack of other camping supplies.
"I'll cover the top, you start curving the opening down, we'll make a slight slant so the water drains out." He began to gently shove a layer of dirt over their tarp to conceal it. It wasn't the best camouflage from titans but honestly nothing was going to be. Besides, once it got dark they'd be able to handle it. Doing his best to shove their packs inside and form weak support pillars, Jeong-jae hoped his vision would turn out alright or at least hilariously horrible. He wanted to brag about his innovation to his brother or have a funny story to write Yoon Su about alter. Next time he tried this he'd look for the side of a hill to cut into since flat ground was proving a bit difficult.
KitsuneAura I'm gonna roll for sturdiness and let you handle waterproofness! You can have Larisa request Jeong to do whatever in your next post and assume he does it. Let's have them call Ervette over at the end of your post so we can get to the first aid! Unless you want one more round of shelter stuff! : )

Farvardin nodded and then looked at Shun. "Well hey we may end up in a situation where we would need to. At least right now we can sharpen the blades if they grow dull." She said. She walked away and began searching for some branches. She found some small branches which wouldn't do much. She kept looking and soon found a decent stick. She brought it over and set it down. "Hm..... do you want to make more of a house of sticks and throw the tarp over it? Or do you want to make a lean-to against a tree or something?" She asked him. It would help to know what kind of shelter they were going to make before they started building. While waiting for him to answer she looked around for more sticks. She spotted some nearby but would only be able to tell how sturdy they were when she walked over.

"I sure do, I am Hilda Rose. You must be Rennati!" Hilda shifted her own bundle of supplies under her arm and held her hand out to shake. At the last moment she changed it to a fist bump instead, awkwardly bumping her hand against Ren's fingertips. Oops. Maybe she didn't notice.Hilda hadn't done well at the horse riding. She'd never ridden a horse before, never even considered a horse a viable means of transport. It intimidated Hilda to ride and move while depending on another living creature. Building a shelter sounded more like something Hilda could do, and she was confident as she thought over how to complete it. Hilda had always been good at making things. Hilda considered the supplies they'd been given. They didn't have much, just canvas and rope, really. "Okay, this is easy. We just need to look for some smallish to medium sized trees in the forest. Then we can both tie tautline hitches with the rope and we're all set, got it!?" Believing her instructions were simple, Hilda marched off to look for the right sized tree. Her expression was a little dreamy and unfocused. "So where are you from?" Hilda asked vaguely, looking over a small tree. It seemed about the right height... He only managed to find a handful of other sticks aside from the one. It seemed that Farvardin had one as well. "We'll have to go with the lean-to. I don't think we have enough sticks otherwise," he noted with a shrug, "Any idea of how we're going to do this exactly?"Shun only had a vague sense, but perhaps his partner would have a bit more insight. If not, that was fine. They'd manage, one way or another. But, it might be nice otherwise. He idly looked over the two sticks he had in hand in the meantime.

Farvardin nodded and looked around for a tree with a large trunk. "Well we can still 'weave' the branches together. Get a longer stick to act as the top support and from there put the other ones as the side. If there's still branches off of it with leaves or needles we can also use those to help keep water out. If I remember correctly pine branches work good for this." She explained, "Then we simply lean it against a tree with a large trunk, although a large rock would be better, and cover it with the tarp. Tie the tarp up some around the tree and it should help keep the water from running in on us." She then walked over to the sticks she had spotted and grabbed a couple of the longer more studier ones. As she turned she noticed a branch barely hanging on a nearby tree. She walked over and grabbed it. Giving it a pull brought it down further but didn't break it. "Give me a hand with this. This branch will be good." She called out to him.

Well, that was a little more involved than he had expected. But he wasn't about to complain. Shun nodded once as he approached her, looking up at the branch she had picked out. Shun reached up and tried to give it a good yank downward. Maybe that was enough to snap it off of the tree, or at cause it to give way somewhat. "I have a knife we could use if we need to."

Larisa's mouth dropped open in shock. He had no idea!? For a moment she just knelt there staring at him while he happily dug away at his completely made up new type of shelter. Where had he even gotten the idea? And why would he pick now to test it? Her eyes strayed hopelessly back towards the trees and the little tents being set up amongst them, then her shoulders slumped. No, even if she did somehow convince him to go back, they'd have lost too much time. And even if that wasn't the case, she didn't want to offend him or ruin his impression of her or anything. All she could was keep digging, so that's what she did.
"W-well, I'm sure it'll, um, work out somehow." No amount of optimistic thinking was going to make it look anymore sturdy, but she guessed it did sort of look like it might make it through the test, maybe. Following his instructions while he found more dirt and leaves and rocks to put on top, she finally glanced it over to see if there was anything else they could add. It actually looked...as finished as it could get! Maybe it wasn't as bad an idea as she'd thought?
Shrugging, she crawled into it, wiggling around to attempt to get as comfortable as possible. Alright, maybe they should've dug a little deeper, this was kind of cramped even before Jeong came in. And with the tarp above, it was a little suffocating...Gulping down a few deep breaths of air, she called up for her partner to climb in so they could start the test and tried not to let the lack of space get to her. "U-um, we're ready over here!" She yelled, just as soon as Jeong had settled in.
Now for the terrifying moment of truth.

"I'll go first!" Zin volunteered. She sat still and quiet for a moment, cleared her throat, and suddenly threw her wrist forward, moaning, "Oh! My wrist! It hurts so much! I think I sprained it! What do I do?!" She flapped her hand in front of Lenore histrionically. "Oh, the pain!" She pretended to faint away, flopping face-up in the grass. She ruined the effect, however, by giggling uncontrollably.
