He'd decided it was maybe best just to ignore Jack, because clearly nothing he said was getting through that abnormally thick skull of his. It was somewhat like attempting to convince a wall that it was made of brick, only the wall kept stubbornly convinced it was made of stone.
Jack's head was probably made of the latter, since he was nothing more than a bully anyway. But the situation was that a) Jack was an a**, except he was an a** that knew he was an a** and knew exactly where to point that sharp stick when he wanted to deliberately hurt someone; b) Stormy was drunk, which meant that her judgement was impaired, even if she denied it; and finally, c) He was utterly incensed by Jack's blase attitude, which meant that Gale's own judgement was impaired.
It was a lose-lose situation and Gale did not like to lose, especially not to Jack.
He swung the rifle around, and pointed directly into the inferno.
Ready.
<< Aim. >>
Fire.
The explosion of bullets cascaded forward, and in one chaotic moment the rest of the creatures faded away, the fire dwindling down. Gale pushed his bangs back away from his forehead and lowered the rifle to his side, breathing heavily, and turned to look at Stormy, his back to Jack.
"I'm ready to leave if you are."
Taym was given a suspicious look, Gale tilting his head towards him in mild exasperation.
Taym lifted his eyebrows at Gale in a genuinely hurt, "what?" sort of way--he didn't know who Stormy was, after all--and gave him a sarcastic, wordless salute of congratulations over the flaming insect corpses between them as Fiona winked out of existence.
Oh boy now his hands were empty. They should have a drink in them again. In true Hunter fashion Taym had decided to register the flaming maggot ordeal as merely a blip on his alcoholic's radar. He shot Gale another offended look as he went to go remedy his current drinkless situation.
The worst part was, 'Maebl' was right. If she had passed out drunk, he would have seen to it that he hadn't left her behind. Sure this was their first time meeting, but Quinn was a nice guy and he wouldn't just leave anyone behind... maybe.
Either way, that decision was now changed for him. "What the-" He turned and suddenly saw what looked like mini fireballs flying through the sky everywhere.
Something he had not expected, and intended to NOT stay around for. He started to inch away and then he remembered......
Could he really leave the poor drunk girl behind? No, not really. Turning he gave her a rather dopey expression, and heaved a huge sigh. "Sorry in advance." He grabbed her wrist, and basically dragged (and if she fell, probably tossed her over his shoulder.) until they ran out of the basement.
He reminded himself to have a 'talk' with Shiloh later about this.

Setting this a little before the bug bosses of flaming death were killed XD I have Lanis ok to carry Maebe away.

Maebe was pretty confident that the balls of fire hurtling and flying around were hallucinations brought on by the liquor. That, she decided, was her signal to actually stop drinking. It was the perfect time to enjoy whatever intoxication she'd established by that point, and let it ride out into eventual oblivion.
She felt a pull on her arm, and it sent her entire body crumbling down. She expected to remain on the floor once she fell, but she hardly touched it - strong arms lifted her and turned her upside down, carrying her off like a sack of potatoes. She bounced, her head smacking against his back repeatedly, and regretted everything she'd eaten that day.
But a man was carrying her out of the party over his shoulder, and she assumed that meant she somehow managed to score. So she held her hand up, fist raised for a fistbump - until she realized, only then, that Shiloh wasn't there.
Oh thank god, the bugs were handled - with FIRE. Milo couldn't help but think it was fitting for America to kill them with fire. Even if it did.. turn them into fire bombs. But it meant the end of them and his living quarters would be fine.... for the time being.

Rep slung an arm around officer Harrison as the last of the bugs died. "Now you can look."

Harrison held up the lantern in the charred and bugless wreckage.
Unspeakable things had been done with the slouching figures of people. He didn't look too hard at those.
"I want another beer," he whispered.

So apparently there had been bugs. And fire. And a whole lot of other stuff Finn pretty much just tried desperately to ignore. He had gotten drinks (with one hand no less) for all of his fellow trainees he'd been standing in a group with, fingers grasping each cup together while he handed them out. Fini had gotten her way in the end, with Finn deciding a couple of drinks couldn't hurt, and if his woman wanted to get drunk well...he wasn't about to stop her.
Fortunately all of the flaming mutant flies appeared to be take care of, shortly after Finn herded all of his friends towards the corner furthest away from all of the action. Was it alarming that there were mutant bugs in the basement? Yes. Was Finn going to flee in terror? No...though it had at least been tempting to steal as much alcohol as they could to leave.
Leaving Ripley and Abbi to their own devices, he turned towards Fini, downing his drink (which he assumed was whiskey, though not nearly as smooth as he might have liked) in one, long shot, before setting his cup down and wrapping an arm around her still slightly drink soaked self.
Ugh. Sticky.
Pulling her in close, however, he pressed a firm kiss to her temple, and then murmured in her ear. "Have I mentioned yet how sexy you look tonight?" Of course, he was well aware she had gotten a bit sulky over the whole Jack thing, and the fact that Finn hadn't done much to defend her or champion her against the man. Fact was, he didn't think he should have to when she brought a lot of it on herself, and when he knew she could most definitely take care of herself, if the tournament had been any indication of that. He was trying to cheer her up a bit, however, and his voice lowered a little in register as he continued on.
"You know I'm almost all healed up now. If you want to leave early and have a private party in my bedroom instead..." He let that sentence trail off, lips brushing against the side of her neck before he pulled away, and gave her another squeeze against his side.

"A beer sounds like a great idea," Jordan agreed, claiming Harrison's other side. "Now that the fireworks are over."
