Layla watched with idle curiosity at Lin who seemed to be at Gryff's beck and call (well DUH!). She proceeded to tear away strips of a sparkly silver and lilac fabric into strips, by hand, constantly stealing glances at Gryff while he worked at his project.

Finally Layla leaned over toward Kai and covertly whispered, "Isss the gremlin in thisss club? He seemsss more intent to help Gryff with hisss project than ssstart hisss own."

Sally nodded, happy to hear their enthusiasm to her idea. Yeah, giant canvases would definitely help. She'd need paints too. And some brushes.... Hmm...

"It'll definitely take a lot of work." she said, tilting her head as she thought about it.

"Ooo Sally, it'll be wonderful i'm sure!" She looked around the group and smiled softly. It was nice to be around monsters who shared her enthusiasm for all things crafty.

"Wh.. whataboutyouLayla? What are you making tonight?" She tilted her head. "Gryff?" She still regarded that gremlin warily. He better not touch her stuff, everything he did touch seemed to explode.

She collected together her things, her bedazzler which looked more like an oversized stapler and was covered in glitter, a bejeweller which was bright pink and likewise, had been painted with glitter and a large assortment of rhinestones, studs and crystals. She plugged in the bejeweller and shot Lin a warning glare.

"Wh.. whataboutyouLayla? What are you making tonight?" She tilted her head.

"You know, I'm not quite sssure." Layla said with a throaty laugh. "Sssometimesss I jussst ssstart 'creating' with whatever I have at hand and no clue how or with what I'll end up."

She proceeded to pick up several of the strips and started to braid them together in tight, woven knots.

"Sssome of my favorite projectsss have ssstarted out that way. Tonight?"

She held up one long, braided set of the colorful fabric.

"I'm thinking a purssse for mother's chief handmaiden."

"Oh, hey, Sally!" Kai suddenly sat up, remembering something. "If you're looking for a big canvas cheap, I think I can help you with that! Follow me. We'll be right back, okay ghouls?"

Kai led Sally through a long, twisted hallway at the back of the shop. Although the Arrght-House looked like a small shop on the outside, Kai could have sworn that it was bigger on the inside.

"Mr. William Deathknell, he's the owner you saw floating around, he's a retired ghost actor from Fangland. When he moved here after his retirement, he brought a bunch of stuff from his old acting jobs and it's sort of sat in storage, gathering dust. And I know there was a huge old canvas backdrop back here..."

Kai pushed through a giant spider-web looking for the light switch as the two entered the storage room. With a clicking flicker, the lights struggled to come to life, revealing a mass of props, discarded old art supplies and tools.

"Watch your step!" Kai called out to Sally as they walked past a giant prop boulder. "If you see something that looks like a giant brick wall....that's the canvas I was talking about. It'd be perfect if you primed it and painted on the other side, and I know Mr. Deathknell would let it go really cheap and free up some space back here!"

Sally looked at Kai and tilted her head. She followed him through the shop as he told her about Mr. Deathknell. Stepping around a lot of different props, it was clear he had kept a lot of things. Sally couldn't identify what most of them were supposed to be.

"If you see something that looks like a giant brick wall....that's the canvas I was talking about. It'd be perfect if you primed it and painted on the other side, and I know Mr. Deathknell would let it go really cheap and free up some space back here!"

Sally looked around them. A giant brick wall couldn't be hard to miss. Seriously, even in this dim light-

She looked up then as she stopped. Behind a rack of old costumes was a huge faded canvas. It looked like red brick, just as Kai had said. She tilted her head as she looked up at it. It was... pretty tall.

"Hey, you found it!" she heard Kai say before he was standing beside her.

Sally looked at him "It is perfect... but how will it fit through the door?"

"Hm...." Kai looked at the oversized canvas and rubbed his chin. "I hadn't thought of that."

He stepped back and looked at the canvas. It was ten feet tall, easily, and at least 15 feet wide. For a mural, it was ideal, but getting it moved...

"It had to have made it in here somehow, right? It didn't just magically appear...unless it did...are there monsters with magical painting teleporting powers? No, don't answer that." Kai shook his head. That was distracting.

Sally was tilting her head. She did that a lot. Kai tilted his too...and looked up...

"LOOK!" Kai pointed upward. "A skylight! That must be how the oversized stuff got loaded in here!"

Peering up, they could both see a winch with a hook attached. Following the rope of the winch revealed a staircase on the back wall, which led to a door to the roof of the building.

"Woah." Kai looked up. The skylight was so dirty it was no wonder they hadn't noticed it before. "Well, I guess we could do one of two things. We could either try to raise the canvas up there right now and get it outside...or you could paint it in here and we could move it later."

Kai's conversation with Sally was interrupted slightly as Lin casually walked across their path, whistling and pulling a rather large paint sprayer behind him.

Ascreama Poweurgh
"Oh, I don't think we've met?"

"I'm Gryff," he replied, oblivious of the commotion around him. When you're friends with Lin, it becomes easy to let all sorts of noise and activity fade into the background.

Gryff set a large, antique willow basket on a table and lifted the lid, revealing an astonishing quantity of yarns in a variety of....grays, cream, some red, a few more gore-ganic undyed grays. Every so often a pop of color managed to creep in when he'd been able to get hold of something claw-made on a commune that didn't believe in pesticides. He glanced at Ascreama with feigned indifference.

"What are you working on?" he asked, digging out a set of renewable bam-boo needles.

Gryff twitched his tail and automatically moved let Lin pass underhoof, accidentally flicking Lin in the back of the head. Probably
.

Gryff N
"I'm Gryff."

"I'm Ascreama," She gave a shy smile. "Oh, I'm learning how to sew.." She began, lifting up a heavy plastic box covered in stickers and tape, and setting it on the same table as Gryff's things. She tugged off the lid and small pieces of fabric spilled out the sides. Ascreama huffed and began pulling the material samples and fabric swatches out of the box, sorting and folding them.

"My best friend Meme started teaching me last week and leant me some of her offcuts to use. She's not particularly organised.." The blob ghoul dug into the pile of fabric and pulled out a smaller box, filled with pins, needles, chalk, seam rippers and more. "It's pretty hard sometimes because if I loose concentration I accidentally absorb the stupid tiny needles.." She shrugged and laughed nervously. "So I have to use these big ones!" and pulled out a large upholstery needle.

"So what're you working on?" She asked, peeking curiously into his basket and fiddling her the shiny needle. "You knit? Or is it gorechet?"

Gryff was internally appalled at the bright patterns and colors of the fabrics, but since she was just learning it was better she ruin scraps than real, decent cloth. Later, she could invest in hemp wool or ethically sourced Creep de Chine if she wanted to get fancy.

"You should practice a lot, it's much more economical and environmentally friendly to make your own clothing than to shop at the the....here," he said.

He reached into his basket and pulled out his current project, an amorphous bundle of black, scarlet and undyed cream.

"Right now I'm knitting. Gorechet as well but not for anything this size."

He unrolled his project: most of a long tunic sweater with a scare-isle pattern of emoji. They marched in alternating (¬、¬) and ヽ( `0´)ノ across the front.

Lin McGearloch
Kai's conversation with Sally was interrupted slightly as Lin casually walked across their path, whistling and pulling a rather large paint sprayer behind him.

Kai looked at Lin...then back at Sally. Then he watched as Lin rolled the industrial-strength paint sprayer out of the storage room and headed back to the craft area.

"Uh....." Kai gritted his teeth. "You know what, I'm very sorry but you'll have to excuse me. I think there's about to be a really big accident that's going to require my attention."

With that, Kai dashed after Lin, following him back into the craft area, but Lin moved fast for having such short legs, and Kai lost sight of him as he stepped back in.

"Where did..."

Jewels looked up at Kai.

"You look hexhausted." She remarked, smiling softly. "Come, sitdown..."
She patted a seat near her. Poor guy, he looked so flustered.

"What are you working on tonight?"

She was curious as to what was under that sheeting but he'd seemed so bummed out when Lin had broken his glue gun. Maybe they had another one somewhere? Or he could do something else this evening.

"Huh?" Kai was startled out of his quest to prevent what looked to be an impending paint disaster. "Oh, hey. Sorry, I've sort of been neglecting my own projects, haven't I?"

Kai sighed.

"Not that it really matters...I guess I'm working on nothing tonight." He pointed to the tarp-covered monstrosity that was his Art Class project. "With my glue gun burnt out I can't really do much, and deciding on a new project would take, well...a lot of time. I'll probably have to do some catching up on my art project this weekend."
