“Oh, shards –“ C’ross laughed, but not unkindly, as I’saak tried to shrug out of his jacket while simultaneously juggling all his stuff. “Here, let me take that.” La had taken the firelizard plush and Trill had delivered the little jar of oil back to his room already, so all that C’ross was currently carrying was his new jacket slung over one arm. He took the parasol from I’saak and slung it over one shoulder so that I’saak could take the little pot of sand containing the firelizard egg. There, now everyone had free hands. Successful Gather shopping is successful.
I’saak, meanwhile, was stuttering protests, which C’ross waved off dismissively. “Go on, take it. I have Trill, I really don’t need another firelizard. And… you have someone that you might want to send a letter to, someday.” That was all he would touch on the subject; C’ross was aware of it, but he knew that S’aak was a sensitive topic for his old friend. And I’saak was offering something to him, something which gleamed brilliantly in the light, and C’ross was momentarily puzzled – what was this? Had I’saak gotten him something while he was off playing the High Striker? That was kind of him…
… oh, Faranth. “Oh, Faranth, I’saak.”
It was the knife. It was the beautiful knife, the one that C’ross hadn’t dared to ask the price on, knowing it would be too high. Not so flashy as the decorative jeweled one; C’ross had no interest in a weapon that looked more like art than weaponry, but this suited him perfectly. He took it and unsheathed it almost reverently, admiring the balance of the blade. “This is – this is incredible. It's absolutely perfect. Thank you.” He was at a loss for words – there was nothing else to say.

I'saak - High Striker
And then C'ross was holding a parasol, and the knife, and I'saak had a firelizard plush and a jacket and a pot with a flit egg, and the two of them were standing, staring at each other...
"You're welcome," he said with a smile that lit up his entire face. "And...thank you, C'ross. Today's been...good." And then he ducked his head, still flushing with equal parts embarrassment at the sudden gift and delight that the knife had gone over so well. "C'mon. Let's go find our dragons?"
Cetalese - Vintner's Stall/Tanner's Stall 3 1/8 Marks (Post bottle of wine in the below post)
Cetalese and D'lin spent a goodly deal of time catching up with Narisa and shooting the breeze about the Gather, things they noticed about the people walking by (always friendly observations), and their lives. However, eventually the cup Cetalese had ordered did run out, and she knew it was time to break away from Narisa, even if only for a little while.
"Excuse me," Cetalese said to the vintners. "Could I purchase a bottle of your fine wine, please?"
While they were fetching that, Cetalese smiled at D'lin. He likely hadn't been expecting her to purchase a bottle, especially after he already had. She did want one put away for special occasions, though, and now would be the time to get it.
She received the bottle from the vintner with thanks. "I need to make a quick stop at the leatherworker's booth. It shouldn't take long, but please don't feel the need to wait up for me. D'lin, I'll catch up to you later."
Armed with her bottle, Cetalese returned to the vendor booths, but declined to browse this time. She made straight for the leatherworkers, waiting patiently for a few moments for a customer to move down before she was able to get close enough to the stall to inspect their offerings. The ankle boots weren't bad, and shorter boots would be much cooler than high ones, especially in the Southern climate. Cetalese checked the price tag on the boots and debated it. She needed serviceable footwear for when she wasn't in her riding gear. She could risk debating it, but she didn't want to insult the stall keeper. Well...
"Excuse me, is this the lowest you could go on these boots?" Cetalese held up a pair of the brown ankle boots on display for the leatherworker. She smiled slightly.
Tanya - Farmcrafter T'ni's Stall
"Nowhere in particular!" Tanya was beyond content with what she had, so while she enjoyed browsing, she considered holding on to the money she would normally have spent at the vendors. She didn't need clothes or shoes; a bit of jewelry might be nice, but she didn't want to appear overly vain to M'lan (especially after all of the things she had just gotten for herself). The other stalls didn't really have anything of interest either.
Just as she was about to suggest they get out of the crowd, unless he had something he needed to buy, she caught sight of several potted plants gracing a counter.
"Let's look at that." She wasn't able to grab M'lan's hand, since hers were full, but she wormed her way through the crowd to the currently customerless plant stall and smiled at the apparent-rider running it. "Hello! How are you?"
Tanya looked over the plants the woman had to offer, flowering and non, and leaned forward to inhale the scent of basil.
Riarna - PC Weavers Stall
"Several, yes. I'm used to running a booth and after a while you get a feeling for what sells best." Riarna cast a glance at the crowds wandering by. "For the next Gather, you might consider increasing your prices somewhat. They're good, and people will buy, but they also happen to be much lower than what I imagine many others would sell their goods for."
Riarna nodded and traded greetings with a familar face, then returned to appraising Kaylen. Really, she shouldn't help, but those prices would either shame Weavers everywhere or cause customers to question the prices of average-priced Gather goods. Beyond that, Kaylen's goods didn't seem to lean toward anything in particular. Riarna's eyebrows knit together very slightly. "Do you have a specialization in anything or are you a general Weaver?"

Cetalese - Granting +1 for her being polite
"Good afternoon," Argo smiled and inclined his head slightly to the young rider, pleased to see somebody interested in the boots which had been ignored thus far. "My standard price is one and a half a pair for the ankle boots but I can go as low as one and a quarter."
M'lan - Following Tanya, trying to haggle 4 + 7/16th Marks
M'lan grinned at Tanya, he was happy that she was enjoying herself. He walked beside her as she moved among the stalls, surprised she didn't pick anything pretty and fancy but he himself wasn't really interested in shiny things unless it was food so he shrugged it off.
He'd been looking the other way when Tanya said "Let's look at that." and he whipped his head round in time to see her weaving her way towards a stall that had plants on it. Now this could be interesting if there were herbs for flavouring food. He followed her eagerly enough, checking out the plants himself.
"Anything you want Tanya?" he asked her with a smile as she sniffed the basil. He wondered if there was any mint, he was a big fan of Mint, especially brewed with other leaves in the mornings. It was then he spotted the Fire Flower bush. "How much is that?" he asked the black rider running the stall.
Cetalese - Leatherworker's Stall Purchasing two pairs of boots Total after purchase: 5/8 Marks
"One and a quarter is good." Cetalese's smile broadened and she looked at the pair of boots in her hand. They would last her a good long while, especially since she would end up using them only half of the time. "I'll take a pair in black, please. Actually, I'll take two pairs, one black and one brown." Who knew if the next time she needed everyday shoes the stallkeeper would be so kind? Ceta set the display pair back on the counter, certain they would be too small for her. "I should be an eight, if you have any left in that size?"
She reached into her belt purse and when she had divvied out the marks, it was considerably lighter than when she had begun the day. Thankfully, Cetalese was prudent; she hadn't brought all of her money with her, and some of what she was spending (most of what she was spending) was going toward practical purchases.
Tanya - Farmercrafter Stall 1 3/4 Marks
"I think I'll buy some of these herbs. They smell wonderful and they'll be useful, especially if we start cooking together. Oh, look, they have facts!" Tanya grinned broadly at the woman from her half-hunched position. "I love that. You must have had a good time making these up. And know a great deal about herbs, too!"
Juggling her goods and finally setting the cups down so she would have a free hand, Tanya checked to see how much money she had left of what she had brought and then double-checked the tags on the potted herbs. Oh. Buying three would absolutely drain what she had left. There were so many there that she wanted, though, and so many she could use...
"I'm sorry to ask, but would there be any chance of you lowering the price on the herbs? I'd love to buy three of them. You have such an assortment here."
Ahh, Nash gave a pleased sound as the rings landed where he wanted. Much better and now, he should have enough to buy his sibling something nice. "If I could look over the bracelets?" She would like something pretty. And metal was often not within their budget when it came to accessories.
Spending points: 12
Nash picked out a copper bracelet with a swirling design, something he was sure his sister would enjoy.
Really? V'ail grinned as the points rolled in. Okay, so he had wasted quite a bit of his marks on games but still, they had gifts for both younger siblings now and he had enough to look over the wears. Hopefully not get pestered in getting clothes. Maybe a dagger.
"Could I see the hair combs?"
Spending points: 12
Okay, Nash got her a bracelet and he got her a set of pretty bone combs with lounging felines carved in them, because felines were sassy. And together they had points left and humm.
Spending points : 6
"The journal as well.." Okay, he was totally spending his siblings points but really, Nash was always scribbling in something. V'ail cheerfully shoved the journal at his sibling and pushed him towards the rest of the festive.

M'lan - Following Tanya, trying to haggle
Rhiannon Chandra
"Oh hello both of you!" T'ni smiled warmly in welcome. "The bush! Oh, it's a wonderful plant! The spicy fragrance comes from the leaves you know, so when it sheds them naturally you should collect them and either dry them for potpourri or press them for the oil to use in a perfume. Oh! The price! Oh, well I think I could offer it to you for one and three quarter marks? It flowers twice a year in a climate like this and you can just plant it outside your weyr. It's a wonderful plant, one of my favourites."
T'ni was obviously no saleswoman; she babbled openly and honestly about her passion, and her prices were just as honest. She had come here today to share her love of botany, not to make a big profit.
[EDIT for derp]
"Oh, and the herbs!" she exclaimed as she recalled the first question. "Sorry. Well I actually have a deal on if you buy multiple herb plants! It's... let me see it's three quarters for one, for two it's one and a quarter, and for three it's one and three quarters! Um, yes, and all of them come with a little care card to tell you how to look after them best."

M'lan - buying Fire Flower Bush 2 and 11/16th Marks left
M'lan grinned "I'll take it for that! It'll be great in Tanya's weyr" he grinned at the woman beside him eyeing the herbs as Tanya browsed them. Maybe he could buy her an extra pot or two if she didn't have enough. He still had a couple of marks left, he didn't mind spending them on her since there wasn't anything he really needed right now. He handed over his marks to T'ni , almost tearing her arm off (figuratively) for the apparent bargain. He plucked on of the flowers once he'd paid his marks and tucked it behind Tanya's ear "Lovely!" he said with a wide grin, partly cheeky, partly admiring her.
"Excellent!" T'ni beamed, obviously pleased by her customer's enthusiasm. "I'll keep it here for you until the end of the gather if you like, it's a bit too much to carry around!"

V'ail + Nash - Henna Designs Stall Marks between them - 2 1/4 Stall - Open for business
Opening a stall had not crossed V'ail's mind at first. It had been a gathering for the lost of a wing second and the welcoming of a new wingsecond and it just seemed several shades of awkward to make marks off it. Yet, common sense and pragmatic non-sense aka , the twin, won out in the end. He did need to start building up a customer base in Trine. Which meant they needed to see him actually work.
So a mark later, he and Nash had set up a open air stall for Henna designs and some advertising for tattoo art and an idea of prices. He would let Nash handle appointments, and setting up his flash art about the stalls to get an idea on level of skill and designs. And refilling the pouches with paste. V'ail was not above using his twin as free labor. N'ash loved him unconditional and with the occasional swat upside the head.
But they were open and he was ready to do some art work.

Tanya - Freaking Out at T'ni's Booth 1 3/4 Marks
Tanya gaped at M'lan as he announced his intentions for the plant, actually speechless for once-- if only for a moment.
"M'lan! I can't take that! That- That's too expensive!" Tanya protested, holding out her hands and nearly stabbing him in the arm with the handle of her parasol as he reached up to tuck the blossom in her hair. His compliment brought a modest flush to her cheeks, but it wasn't enough to combat the mortification she was feeling. Sure, riders had more Marks to spend than she, but they didn't have that many to throw around willy-nilly on their-- their-- the people they knew. "Thank you, but you should keep it. It's lovely." She half-lifted a hand as if to check the flower without touching it, her expression clearly caught between protest and pleasure. "It's a beautiful plant. I can't-- M'lan, really--" Tanya's face was easily given to joy, so it was no surprise a grin born of romantic butterflies was attempting to make its presence known in spite of her torn emotions.
"How will you be able to enjoy it if it's in my weyr? I can't just monopolize a plant that lovely!"
Mlan grinned "Please" he said to the black rider, while he COULD have carried it about, it would likely have been knocked about if he had and he didn't want to ruin it before it had even reached Tanya's Weyr, "I'll be back for it later" he smiled then turned to Tanya.
"Sure you can, i've still got marks left if that's what you're worried about" he said with a big grin on his face "But...i bought it for YOU Tanya" he said his grin fading off his face "I bought it for YOU to enjoy and have something nice, it doesn't matter if i don't see it all the time, i'll still see YOU" he said, trying to return the smile to his face but he was a little worried he'd over stepped the mark, he LIKED Tanya, as maybe more than a friend and he was starting to mentally kick himself.
Maybe he was wrong, he'd thought she'd liked him back but ... he wouldn't be surprised if he'd imagined it "If you don't want it it's ok but i really wanted you to have something NICE because until today i've never seen you intentionally enjoying yourself without being dragged into it Tanya" he looked directly at her "You're a lovely woman and i like you a lot, i want to do nice things for you and i thought that the plant would be perfect, it's flowers are beautiful ... and so are you" there he'd said it, at least he'd told her how he felt, if she didn't feel the same... well he'd be upset but he would have to get over it, after all he couldn't keep away from the kitchens, not even to avoid her if he had to. He wasn't sure if her grin was ridiculing him or genuine, he'd find out when she replied.
