That's ok, Lilly, we're in a bit of a post-stressout lull anywho.

Dragon Lilly
In case I forgot to warn you guys earlier, I won't be on much. We're in Texas to look at schools and houses. There's no internet that I can use besides the library's.

I'm in the same situation, though I'll be back tomorrow. And I'm using my aunt's dial up internet computer. Dad's bought a manufacture home and my new school is supposed to be a good one. xp

And great news! I've got another injure to make my running suck. Woo!

What a lovely list.
1. Severe Allergies
2. Weak VMO (left knee)
3. VCD
4. Diaphragm Spasms
5. Swollen area, sharp pains (right knee)

One things for sure, I think I have most injured record. And I don't even play a contact sport.

Oh, and I've decied that you all owe me 1000 dollars. Instead of you paying it to the goverment and them acting like a middle man, I've decided to just take it directly. That way I can actually attend one of these damn seminars I keep getting nominated to go to. You'd think once I'd get nominated to go to one of the instate ones I could actually afford to go to. But no, teachers seem to reserve those for the ******** preppy kids that aren't as smart as I. Actually, I think I'm just in a pissy mood because of the number of people I know that are getting s**t handed to them on a silver platter without actually doing anything to derserve it, while all I'm getting handed is injury and more work to do.

The least they could do is give me a platter painted to look silver. sad

Hullo everyone! I've returned from the dead, lol. This week has definitely been rough, and I'm hella glad it's over. School is sooo overrated! stare Anyway, now that I'm back... Anyone want to update me on what I missed? whee Thanks much!

Hum, just received some feedback from a new member! It suggested that we should probably do more advertising type posts around the forums. It's a pretty good 'zine, dammit, and we need to be known! Hehe. *nudges everyone toward PR*

Anywho, I'm willing to go out and mark some territory for us... All I need is a wonderful idea for a fun and 'zine-driven publicity stunt. Maybe we could put out a teaser of sorts on the 15th, and release the real issue on the last day? Any other thought bubbles to share? I'm out for now. wink

Hmm...

Maybe host a...hm....on the spot writing contest? Like a timed one?

Or....mmm....link hunts?

or...meh...My brain is quite the frizzled right now...

Well I think, if we can start raising some monetary funds through advertising we can become a rather popular zine once we start "paying" people to publish stories... It's too bad we can't give out items like Gambino does, we'd be rich.

Though, a word of advice, 10k gold prizes tend to get some good writing sent your way. Or at least it did back in the day when we had a five judge panel on a ten point scale on ten seperate parts of storywriting from grammar to characterization. 7 great stories, that would score perfect 10's in comparision to what you'd find nowdays.

Well, also, we could host a poetry slam. The Eleventy one got into one of those a few months back. Some very intersting mockeries of angsty poetry using ways to shut down your computer.

On another note, I'm getting ready to setup the Political Writing Project. And all published stories/poetry gets 100g. (So we need to do a little fundraising to that effort in the next few months. 2000g should cover the max of 10 poems, 10 stories.)

A writing contest does sound like a good idea! We can advertise at the Writing Contest forum, then host the contest itself at the guild forum. Hopefully, once writers are directed here maybe they'll make this a regular hang out. (At worst, at least they'll know that we exist! Hehehe.) We should also have a small entry fee around 50 - 100g, and I'm willing to donate whatever I have by the 15th. *off to the Chatterbox she goes*

Now, what's our theme? Jahoclave brought some good ones, but I want to do something original! whee

A note, if you haven't already carried out the contest idea.

1) People don't like entry fees. Maybe ask for donations so that the prize can be hiked? There are some nice people out there willing to do it. Either that, or lower the entry fee and declare a possible prize hike through donations.

2) People are lazy, and don't wish to take the effort to click a link and see what it is. They like convenience. What if we made this a 2-3 step poetry contest, and the final round or so be held here at the guild. That way, the public can see the beginning of the contest in action and more of them will be inclined to join. And if they get really interested, they'll follow the final contestants to the final round at the guild!

Another thing, we should remember to update the index after every issue. I know Lilly isn't able to get on as much, but someone can sneak in and add the second issue's data.

xp And I have to mention this because I am just that picky. We have 3 topics on the same thing. If we creat a new topic for every new project, it can get pretty cluttered over time. At max, I think we should have two, one for the projects themselves and one to discuss the projects and to generate ideas. We don't have to do anything about it now. We can wait until the latest project is completed, but just to point it out. I leave it up to you to decide.

Well with projects, I just see that after you finish a project it drops off the sticky and just fades away down the thread listings. If you continue to do all your projects in the same thread, then the thread gets cluttered.

I also say we should do a huge contest with a very large prize in the future, and a minimum word length of about 10,000. That would give about 3 months worth of stories. First, Second, and Third.

I also like the tiered judging idea.

As for contest themes. I like original writing. Gives everybody a fairer ground to stand on because they can write to their strengths.

Hi, I'm the new staff member, Rhap-chan. *waves* I'm the one who suggested more PR, by the way. ^_^ Maybe I can advertise for you in my contest thread. This contest idea you guys have here sounds really cool and I'd love to get involved, except I hate politics so maybe I'll wait for the next one..... ^^

Welcome new staff member. Pr, reminds me I need to make the actual WF forum thread for the project.

Kraeela, the mess with your mind part of me tells me to say that nothing on my avatar has changed.

But this is my "Herr Clavy" outfit, the other was the "Lord Emperor Badass Reverend Clavy" outfit.

The difference is that this outfit has a tie instead of a demonic pendant. A cig in the mouth instead of the angelic staff. The demonic staff is sideways.
And the cape is different.

Also I changed shoes to a pair with a better, more black bottom. I think the Herr Clavy looks better anyways.

On another note, I think I found a pretty good college that my parents can't really object to. Creighton, they've got a decent looking comp sci department. All the proff hold doctorates in the field and a few of them are actually working on a textbook for the field. And a lot of their interest lie in artifical intelligence which is something I'm kind of keen on. They also have a English Major Creative Writing Emphasis which doesn't focus much on analytical crap. And they also have a 4k renewable scholarship for creative writing. 10 poems/2 short stories/Novel Excerpt, up to 25 pages double spaced... Now if you ask me, that's one of the best damn payouts in the history of writing. But boy could I use that money. It's also in a nice large town. So now I can stick it to my parents and get to learn what I want.
