Harrison's voice crackled across the communicator; Jordan turned back towards the sound, relieved. He couldn't tell what his friend was saying, but at least he knew Harrison was alive. Then, between one breath and the next, Rep was gone. Not lying unconscious on the floor - just not there anymore. Before Jordan had any chance to react beyond the initial gut feeling of cold taut fury, Aria was there, and the blue flames were springing up on all sides, racing across the runes and engulfing friend and enemy alike. s**t. Why? The line of flame that exploded up from the floor like the roar of a match dropped in gasoline flared up just beyond his feet, and he winced back from the chill that radiated from it. He scanned the room, taking in the individual knots of conflict. The girl he'd attacked wasn't as much of a threat as the Horseman still in the room; he'd acted without thinking about it, but he didn't regret that attack. But the Horseman was still far more dangerous, and Jordan turned to go after the robed figure again. The ice that had solidified in the wake of the flames was dangerously slick. It took him longer than he liked to make his way across without slipping. The chain clipped to his belt clinked under his coat, and he remembered abruptly that it was there. He could use that; it would handicap the threat, at least. Advice from months ago returned suddenly to echo in his mind, and he winced; he did rely on Ferros for damn near everything, from combat to keeping his own mental state in check, and it was hurting him now. Stupid time to remember. Stupid of him to have forgotten at all. He couldn't afford the weakness. Partner implies an equal effort from both sides, he said to the place where Ferros's conscious presence usually was. Sorry. We'll work on that.The realization had cost him only a moment, and he was close enough. Auri was getting nowhere fast with this forcefield up. She looked around for someone who was actually getting hit. A big dragon was chewing on one of the hunters. She heard Amarus say something about actually fighting. "They are wasting my time and wasting my money. I just want them gone!"Auri slipped off her remaining shoe and hurled it at the girl in the dragons mouth! "THAT'S FOR SHOOTING ME YOU b***h!"Aura stood there shoeless. The ground sure was cold! Shocked at the appearance of a fiery one-man HUNTER CAR of death, Jove somehow managed to escape damage, until the tiles beneath his feet blew up. He scrambled back to his feet, losing sight of the enemy he had been viciously attacking not long before. A growl escaped his lips, and he caught sight of a familiar face in the crowd. Bounding over, he hurtled past his big blue friend and launched himself at an unfamiliar hunter behind him. A new Hunter showed up, one that looked relatively healthy still. Another barrier went up, and Molly went wide eyed as she stared at Deryk. “ Oh goodness! Deryk!” She cried over the chaos of the battle. “ Remind me to give you a kiss later! Thank you so much!” With the combination of the barrier with the ice, the dragon that tried attacking her again missed, and still, Molly was only focused on one target. She saw Jordan rush up and use a chain on the Horseman right after Invictus attacked Mercedes, and her face lit up in relief. “ Jordan, sir---rry!” She hastily corrected. “ How are you holding up!?” The Hunter yelped though, as another body collided against her, and her head whipped around to see a white-ish dog covered in blood. She bit her lip momentarily, debating, but ultimately decided to keep herself focused on Invictus. Her lance whirled to life once more, a metallic scream sounding forth as she lunged at the Horseman and, luckily, struck him this time. (( OOC: Character Name: Molly

Rafe was more battered than he realized; his ordeal in Death had hurt more than he'd let on, and he was starting to get exhausted. But he was also beginning to get a second wind, a furious desperation. He was an animal backed into a corner, and while he was little more than a nuisance...he was a very persistent nuisance. He aimed a fistful of claws at the back of Deryk's head. He arrived at the Isle of War just in time to see the barrier thrown up around Deryk, Molly, and - Gale felt his heart soar in relief - Eva. He pressed his lips together, finding the other hunters in the room - Jordan, Cass, and he thought he saw Candace as well, caught up in the mix.
Gale swung the sniper rifle in his hands around, gritting his teeth.
First things first: get rid of the one attacking Jordan.

Julian watched as the hunter he had attacked with the golden ghoul and one of his classmates, West, fell, a triumphant look on his face for a brief moment. But it didn't stay long, there was more fighting to be done, more of these hunters. He had known, he'd KNOWN this little trip couldn't end on a pleasant note. What were they doing here?
Whatever it was, it couldn't be good and he didn't have time to think about it.
Another hunter leapt in and suddenly the floor was covered in ice and blue fire spread across the room. Julian hissed in pain, Jack it was like the last trip all over again! He couldn't move, it hurt like sticking his hand on the ice at the very back of the fridge, only worse. Unable to doing anything else, he just closed his eyes and grit his teeth together hard, hoping the pain would pass.

The dragon creature somehow reminded him of Jinhai, though Gale did not actually know what his own dragon looked like. But where Jinhai was calm and dry humored, this dragon gave a roar of anger, snapping at him in fury, and Gale felt its teeth sink into his upper arm. He ripped himself away, dripping blood, and got back into position to fire.
Unfortunately, however, his shot missed, and Gale let out a curse, gritting his teeth.

"K-kiss? really? You'd kiss me?" he stammered out at Molly. Was he really going to get a kiss? Deryk liked the sound of that actually. Grinning a little goofily at the thought, he soon jumped as a few of the creatures attacked the barrier. Oh right. In the middle of a fight. Looking around, he spotted the lightning dragon that had attacked him earlier. And so he went out and tried to stab it with his hidden blade. Oh the other one finally hit back. Aksaja snarled as two of the Hunters attacked him at once. One of the missed, but Deryk's blade sank into a leg, making him stumbled. He was bleeding in several places now, feeling rather like he might like to fall over soon.
But still, there were Hunters . . . he couldn't give up. The return hit from the Hunter had Aurian dazed and reeling, unable to attack back. She lost time. When she finally shook her head and snapped out of it, it was just in time to see the room light up with blue fire. Flames leapt across to Aurian, licking over her skin. She screamed. It wasn't burning - it was freezing. Aurian had never thought cold could hurt as much as fire. Now she knew better. Her skined burned in a different way. The fire engulfed her for a few brief moments before moving on and eventually disappearing. The floor of the room was left covered in ice. To Aurian, it felt like the same thing had been done to her. From what she could see, there was no coating of ice on her body. Still, she couldn't move. Her muscles were locked up, her jaw unmoving. Her body wanted to shiver, her teeth to chatter, but nothing obeyed. This swipe was not so well-aimed -- probably because his target was now engaged in much more impressive battle with a dragon. That's ok. Rafe wasn't one for glory. With the dragon mostly out of commission for the time being, Gale turned his attention elsewhere - namely to the little rat-dog creature he had seen on the other island.
