It was time to begin? Aha! Taryn leaped to her feet and clutched her books to her chest and barely resisted sprinting out of the auditorium. Right, best behavior...

Well, at least she'd gotten to say hi to Mort at all; he seemed pretty happy to see her, too. Amarus was about to greet the new student, her head tilting, when mid-bow she heard the announcement to file out. Showtime. "It made me happy to see you, Mort-- new student, try not to get killed, okay? I hope you're in one of the nicer classes." Amarus meant what she said, when she said it had made her happy to see Mort. It was a nice feeling, to be happy to see someone-- it was kind of muted, as she was never particularly capable of strong emotions, but it was nevertheless true.

She also really did hope the new student wouldn't take the clans' class too hard. She had an inherent distrust in them, after the whole thing with the Hunters and the fiasco and the being shot thing. That was not pleasant, and she could not imagine why anyone would want to do that. Ever. Again. Still, she had fought for what she thought was right up until the bitter end, and that was what counted in her mind. Always a fighter. Maybe she'd see the others later.

For now, off to Conquest-- whatever that may bring. She had wanted to take War classes both weeks, but the class for week one sounded... unpleasant. Jewels were not her thing.

Angenora hurried along as she felt embarrassed .for being late with meeting Sheridan and Petro. She almost tripped over her bandages as she stumbled in front of the boils. She blushed then waved nervously, "Hey guys! Sorry, in a rush since I'm late this time." She babbled on. She sighed with relief then gave each of them a hug before letting go. "Would of loved to stay and chat, but gotta head off to my classes. Ciao!" She said to them then headed off to the portal she was assigned.

Temes felt her chest tighten up - this was it, here they were going. When the paper came to her she looked, indeed the classes she'd wanted were on there, she glanced at a few of the others as they were told to move towards the exit and go to their locations. It would have been good for her to tell her friends good-bye, or at least tell them she'd see them later. She didn't move though to do anything, instead just standing there mutely as the students started to filter away and the room grew more and more empty.

Nerves, maybe? What was keeping her standing there - this wasn't like the trials. She wasn't going to be killed. The Horseman islands were probably the safest places to be in all of Halloween, if she had to think about it, and that thought did provide a small measure of comfort. Maybe a few of her friends had signed up for Conquest as well (she hadn't checked the lists to see) so she'd see them there and they could talk and enjoy their classes? It was an unknown, a strange unknown, but it was worth a risk.

Temes, no, Chuppi, Was getting older and she needed to be braver. She had made a fool of herself in front of Taryn and she had cried the entire time during the trials. Here was her chance to get stronger, to be brave and show them all that she did this of her own will and there was nothing to hold her back. The chupacbara was a smart child, perhaps she'd learn something and catch on quickly, so to gain the knowledge from a respected group such as the horseman might help boost her self-esteem out from the gutter where it was currently residing.

She turned and moved towards the exit that would lead to her final destination and she swallowed hard, nervous. Temes could talk the talk all she wanted and not act like she was scared half to death but just the walk to get to where she needed to go in order to reach the Island of Conquest was a big deal and she was scared and it was stupid. But she was going to do it.

A few uneasy steps made her start moving, start walking, and she found herself shaking but still making her way towards the portal that would lead to her future and a lesson she was likely not to forget.

Julian had been at the back of the auditorium as the introduction for the exchange program was given. He was trying to be better, stronger and more outgoing, but this was hard for him. He had gotten used to having his friends around him, other students who... sort of had his back. But he didn't have that this time. Sin wasn't here, neither was her boilfriend or Alcie and Tahki wasn't here either. No Morton, no Cora, he hadn't even seen Belladonna in a while. He thought he saw some familiar faces in the crowd but not really anyone he truly knew.
But that was what he was trying to do, wasn't it? Getting out there and learning to be the kind of demon who could protect his friends, who was useless without them with him. He was wearing the coat he'd taken on that last trip, the one that had been torn up by... fish and fire and Jack knew what else. It was a reminder of his goals, along with the small bottle of ash in his dice bag.

The secretary's speech had him on his guard. Don't do anything harmful, that made sense, make a good impression sounded right too. These were the Four Clans, very old and very special, it was right to be respectful. But he hadn't missed the undertone of the rest of Arel's comments and he couldn't help but think that this was just another dangerous trip they were being sent on. It was ChristmasTown and the Boogeyman Training all over again. Hopefully he'd be proven wrong.

And then Arel was out of the spotlight and a Clan member was taking the lead. At least, insofar as to lead them out of the auditorium.
Going through the portal after the Clan member, the wind ruffling his feathers. Death, that was where he was spending his first week. He had almost signed up for both weeks on the dark island, but had decided not to limit himself to one experience. The lack of information about the central island was to be expected, it was frustrating how in the dark they were always kept, but what could he do about it? They were supposed to be respectful and prying wasn't. For all any of them knew, they'd eventually find out what the fifth island was.

He saw Danny take her class list, she'd seemed nice when they had their exams together. There was another student asleep on her back, strange. Maybe he would run into them sometime, it would be nice. He checked the list to make sure he was going to the right place. Looking at the list, though, he didn't see the name of someone he really knew. He remembered Israfel from the band competition, but that was pretty much as far as it went. Guess he'd have to make new... Meet new people.
A nod to the ambassador when she directed him to the portal with the rest of his classmates for the next week. He'd make his family proud, he would live up to their expectations, and he'd learn how to protect his friends. At least, he hoped so.

Like the moron she was, Whisper had arrived late. She had ran as fast as her legs would carry her to catch, only to arrive as Arel was giving his speech. The ghoul couldn't leave before she knew that someone would be watching her pets, and she was sure they were starting to get upset that she kept leaving. But she needed to learn. Whisper needed answers. She wasn't even sure what her questions were anymore. None of that really mattered anymore now. She was sure that in the end, this program would at least give her some sense of knowing.

Focusing on the crowd, she could see quite a few people she recognized, which was comforting. After all, it would make it a little easier to be away from the school with familiar faces. However, in all honesty, she was used to watching those around her dissipate, and dissipating herself. And she was damned sure that it was going to happen. It always does. So if there was a fight, Whisper may not care as much as she would have a year ago. It's not that she was becoming cold, just used to it. As they all moved out of the auditorium, she tagged along near the back. She shuffled along at the same pace as everyone else, simply nodding to the secretary, and to their representative. She wasn't sure what to say at this point. Looking down at her class list she saw a couple names that made her smile. Maybe those couple friendships could grow.

As they stepped through she was in awe. It was truly beautiful. But Whisper knew that great beauty can hold immeasurable danger. She touched her pendant and could only think, "Red help us..."

Late, Clyde was very late and by the time he had gotten to the auditorium, the introduction had nearly ended. There goes his chance at asking questions about this exchange program, goddarn it. Trying his best not to slam his head into the wall for his idiocy, the varcolac had the most un-amused face as he followed the crowd through the doors. This new scenery was not what he would have expected and he would have continued to just stare if the class list wasn’t just shoved into his hands.

Well, this was going to be interesting.

Myr had remained silent through out the whole assembly, merely
listening to the conversations of the people around him. He was
concerned about what would happen, though it didn't seem like their
hosts would put up with anything. Perrhaps that wasn't a bad thing.

He followed the group of students out to thee forest, and then through
the newly opened doorway.

They had been led to a ledge,or perhaps it was more like a platform,
but either way, it fit all of them. The view was magnificent, and he
focused on the islands as their guide began to describe them. They
were each unique, and Myr found them all interesting. However the
words that she said were far more interesting.

It could be problematic in the long run, but for now, he would do just
that. He took his paper, and then approached the portal that would
take him to the Isle of Death. There were other students going that way
as well, and he followed behind them.

Ohh sssshhhiiiiii- Valentino was late again. Sally was supposed to have woken him up, but instead all that she had done was look at him with her rusty head and enjoy the sight of Valentino oversleeping. The embalming fluids weren't even to blame this time. Val had been bothered every night that he had been out, students getting in his way, causing him to spend whole nights dealing with issues instead of corpses. those cadavers wouldn't dig themselves up.

Entering the auditorium, Valentino saw the rest of the student body heading out. Seeing his chance, he ran and just caught up before it was too late.

The crowd moved as a member of the clans told them that they were now welcome to their home. There was a lot of students, more than the slimer had remembered. Like waves, they moved along the benches down to a stream of pupils. They were being herded by the gnome and the school secretary.

The slimer was caught in it.

“Wait-“ The ghost sunk into the sea of students. “Circ-“

He tried to call out. The other students just eyed the ghost who was blocking their way; stares and evil eyes all the way. He tried swimming through them, raising one arm after another, swiveling his shoulders as he tried to part the crowd. He tried to be salmon, but the current was too strong.

“I’ll see you there!”

He cried as he drowned. He embraced the inevitable and headed for the first clan on his list; War.

Moure received the text from Edel a few moments before their Horsemen representative would start speaking. He looked it over, brow furrowing slightly. Something seemed...vaguely wrong. There wasn't as much excitement as he'd once known her to have, as much vigor for the coming challenges. It seemed the Trials had made them all a bit more cautious, a bit more critical of what their world had to offer.

His fingers found the buttons quickly, and he responded, glancing around again to try, in vain, to spot her halo of blue hair. He hesitated momentarily, trying to think of a response that could help to convey his care. He was having some trouble with his endeavor though, as he knew she wouldn't be able to read his face, see what he was trying to tell her. That was the problem with trying to express emotion over text, apparently.

Zyphiris
Text To Edel: If anything comes up, you know how to reach me. I'll see you after these exchange classes, okay? And please take care, too.

Love,
Moure

Moure pressed send and then closed his phone, slipping it into his pocket as the Horsewoman started to speak. He melded into the swarm of students, moving with the group to the Weeping Forest. He remembered coming this way before almost falling into that room of treasure, and finally to the Haunted House. They were going to a tree this time though. Moure spotted the blue halo that was Edel's head and his heart lifted. She turned and waved to him when she found him with her eyes, and he gladly returned the wave. He barely resisted calling out to her, instead simply giving her a heartfelt smile and wave before watching her enter the tree. Soon it was his turn, and he moved through as well. He took his schedule with a nod and a thanks to their guide, and turned his attention to the Isle of Death's portal. He took a moment to prepare himself, and then walked on through.

Holly must have been spacing because as soon as she had thought she arrived it was time to leave. She shrugged to herself and went off towards the portal she was assigned too. This field trip would probably be just as exciting as the rest.

Before she knew it, Circe was separated from her slimer boil by a sea of students. They were all being pushed and separated into their classes. Frantically she searched among the crowd for Elle, but to no avail. However, she did here his voice further away--as to what direction she wasn't sure--call out that he would see her there. She opened her mouth as if she was going to call back out to him but decided to just wait until they got to War and could actually meet up or something.

When she found herself at the entrance of the War portal she gently clasped the pin she had received from the boil to her chest. Since their little flirtation session during the Trials, Circe felt something foreign and strange take hold within her chest whenever she was around El Greco or thought about him. Receiving his pin only seemed to make the feeling within her chest bubble more. For some reason she felt the need to be close to him at all costs and when they were apart it was hard.

Quickly the ghoul took a deep breath as she went through the portal. Maybe she would figure out why she felt this way here. Or maybe someone here would know what it was that was exactly happening.

Aurian still had yet to find Vaith or Mai, but that would have to wait. Someone important - one of the Four Clans, no doubt - had arrived. The ghoul in fancy robes directed the students to follow her. Keeping an eye out for a familiar face in the crowd, Aurian obligingly exited en masse with the others.
