Mai glanced down at the rope in her hands. Somehow it didn't seem right to try and physically overpower this dragon, which seemed so calm and attentive. She could tell it was still wild, and didn't trust her... but she felt it would almost be a betrayal if she attacked it now.
Instead, the ghost slipped her feet into the water and slid off the rock she was sitting on. She was now standing precariously on a boulder, the river current sweeping past her thighs. The dragon tilted its head at this intruder in its domain, and Mai could see its tail swishing underwater behind it in growing agitation.
No time to waste, her mount might swim off at any moment~ Mai took a breath and said "You're beautiful." Compliments always won people over right? And as she said this, she gathered her Fear about herself. She tried to visualize it, picturing her fear taking the form of familiar blue flames. The ghost shrouded herself in this imagined fire, drawing on her Fear as best she could. She tried to will this creature to her side. Be my companion, she thought hard at it.
The reaction wasn't immediate as the dragon simply stared at the wisp. Mai wasn't sure, but she thought she could see the reflection of her bright blue flames in its eyes. Impossible, because there was no fire to begin with but.. Finally, the dragon seemed to relax a bit and it approached her cautiously. It sniffed at her hand and then, to Mai's delight, nudged its head underneath her palm in a friendly gesture. The ghost laughed lightly and gave the dragon a few affectionate scritches.
That was that. Now back to the instructors.
Mai's result: 8 + 3 = 11 - 6 = 5
Dragon's result: 3 + 7 = 10 - 6 = 4

When she finally had stopped from screaming, Mei managed to roll out of the way from their being any chance she might be mauled by the overgrown beast. Holding her vine lasso, she stared the jaguar down a moment before charging at it. Screw being subtle! She had tried that with the others! She would wrestle this damn thing to the ground and drag it all the way back if she had to!

A .. wolf this time? Following the sound of its howl, Lacie eventually ended up at a clearing. The creature stood there menacingly, baring its fangs at the vulnerable prey. Quote: 18. You follow the haunting cry of a lone wolf and come across it. Eventually.

Practically tackling the beast to the ground, Mei wrestled with it for a while before it managed to wiggle out of her hold, but not without taking a swipe at her. Rolling to her feet, Mei glared at the large cat, swinging the lasso around faster, and faster until she let it fly loose, towards the jaguar. Watching as it landed successfully around the wild cat's head, Mei grinned to herself before suddenly being yanked forward. "Ohhhh no! Your coming with me!" She growled, digging her heals in as she fought to drag her mount back with her. "Out of all the--why were you easier to catch!?"

Its whining eventually ceased, regaining enough fear power to match with Lacie. She stubbornly kept her hold on the lasso.

The wolf snarled, jumping out at Lacie. It's fangs latched onto Lacie's arm, and she winced, loosening her hold on the rope due to the pain searing through her arm.

West eventually came to the conclusion that he was probably going the wrong way. He turned around, following the noises the other students were making until he stumbled into a shallow river and came face to snout with a stumpy little dragon. It looked large enough to carry him, but he wasn't quite sure he wanted to ride it. First of all, it was almost entirely submerged in the river, which was kind of strange, and secondly, it just seemed so... nice.
"C'mon dragon," he said by way of introduction, tossing his lasso at its head.

Wake up before dawn hadn't been too difficult. However, as the instructors had not indicated at exactly what time they were all to appear, Bongani had taken his time in getting up that morning. First he dress and then went to wash his face. He was halfway from changing out his jewlery when the horsemen all rumbled in, waking students up and giving a nod of barely there approval to the ones who were awake. Thankfully, Bon got the nod and hurriedly followed out his more awake classmates to the jungle area.

The first sound that assaulted Bongani (other than that was the students around him) was the cry of a lone wolf. The idea of claiming such a creature as his mount was appealing, so Bon followed after the noise, leaving his fellow students and teachers far behind. When he finally found the tawny colored beast laying amid a sea of grass, Bon paused. The creature did look quite ferocious, but that was only because its sharp teeth were glimpsed behind its lolling tongue. Otherwise, the wolf looked quit endearing.
