"Mm. There's also Death. I'm not leading them but I think it'd be best if those Mists get action, too." They'd have to talk to Gale and Madison, too. "I don't think Robert needs telling but I can do that, sure. Cass, you wanna talk to Marcus?" Divide and conquer! Or something like that.
Jordan was very right though. They weren't as prepared as they thought they had been even with the advanced warning. "I think that's the point though. Aria wanted the Lambs to be surprised, it's a wonder we got any advanced warning ourselves."
Candace glanced Rep's way before stepping closer to Jordan, lowering her voice. "What did you tell him, anyway? I tried to tell him to cut it out and he wasn't hearing it."

"I want to get us all as coordinated as possible before whatever that was making noise gets here," Jordan said. "Makes our job easier and gives the lambs a better chance to hit something." He grinned suddenly. "Then they can experience the joy of their weapons complaining about being hungry too."
"Even if they were supposed to be surprised, we weren't, and we could have prepared better for our part of it. Lesson for next time. Time to demonstrate we can learn too," he said.
To Candace's last question, he replied quietly, "I told him he needed to cut the lying and explained why in terms he couldn't argue with. I think he's got this idea that the world hates him anyway, so he may as well earn it. If I can just get him to cut the crap enough to work with people, he might actually be bearable." He smiled a humorless smile. "He listens to me because I beat him and I'm male. The sexism is gonna take some time to beat out."

Rep watched the intermediates converse. He was out of hearing range but that didn't stop him from trying to lip read and failing miserably, the overall result being basically a very intense stare and a very sharp pang of paranoia as Candace glanced at him. Were they talking about /him/?! He clenched his hands into fists as his pride was duly rankled, paranoia was something he had in no small amount so so much as a glance felt like ice in his gut. So Jordan wouldn't gloat to his face about scolding him but would happily gloat to ******** Candace about it, that intolerable b***h who had left him in pain for days.
But as always Tracey went unheeded as Rep found himself with the unshakable feeling of discomfort and anger. He didn't want to be here right now, feeling like he was back at school and stripped of his friends. He gritted his teeth and stalked further away, standing by the hole the yeti'd come in by, back to the room.
"Bastards everywhere."

Candace nodded. "They need the experience more than we do. I don't think I should fight right now anyway. The painkiller Cass is giving me is starting to kick in but my ears are still ringing and every now and then I feel like I'm having an out of body experience, you know?" Candace chuckled, grinning at Jordan's comment on weapons. "Oh, totally. I bet ours will start bitching that we're not using them. Whenever Atropos gets fully charged up she starts...just...it's like a.." How to put it delicately. "...Oh, Candace. Please I'm begging you." Candace whispered almost desperately, though it was clear she was mocking Atropos.
OH, GOD. OH GOD. OH GOD~! OH GOD, PLEASE DOC-- Candace's cheeks suddenly flushed as she turned narrowed eyes down at her rings.
"Shut up, Atropos." She hissed. Atropos merely cackled.
You mock me, I mock you. It just so happens I have better material to work with. That b***h. Candace cleared her throat and swiftly moved on to the next subject.
That b***h. "Mm. Very true, very true~." Her cheeks were still flushed hotly as she watched Rep head for the entrance the yeti had taken. "Ah, I see. Wait...lying? What was he lying about? Huh...the world wouldn't hate him if he just quit the crap, really. He's a good fighter but so far that's all I've seen from him. Not many people could cut a desk in half so cleanly, so he does have promise~. He just needs to quit being a narrow-minded a**." She realized it wasn't as easy as just going "okay sure!" but it was still annoying as hell.

"Good point. You should probably get checked for a concussion when we get back," Jordan said. At her comment about Atropos, he flushed slightly also. "Ferros gets all - nonverbal," he said, and didn't elaborate further.
Ferros snickered. You could ask for details, he suggested.
Wha - NO! Jordan managed to keep the exclamation silent, but got the feeling that he'd turned a shade redder.
Subject change, just as well, he didn't want to be talking about this, especially not with Candace. "Exactly," he said. "It's going to take some time and patience. If I can just keep him from shooting himself in the foot before he has a chance to mellow out, we might get somewhere. Anyway." Back to business. "We've got a plan, let's get it into action while we've still got some time to spare. Whatever that was roaring, I'm pretty sure it'll be coming in for us. Let's get ready for it."

"I could probably even get checked out now if I don't go see one of the doctors on the island. There's a real nice one there, his name's Stephen, but I don't think it'd be wise to go to him for another concussion. He'll start to think I need a helmet or something." She looked H's way now, this time a thoughtful expression instead of the suspicion she had had before. Would he check her out right now if she asked nicely? She didn't want to make a big deal out of it. She was fine! Really! Just...okay not in pain she was feeling pretty good right now. "H is a doctor, I could bother him about it." Eh? Why was Jordan blushing? Oh god why was Jordan blushing stop that stop blushing there's no reason for him to blush NONE.
Yeah important matters! "..You're such a dad." Candace teased with a grin and a playful poke to Jordan's shoulder. "Taking responsibility over him like this. That's cute." She chuckled and shook her head, the hand that had been reaching out to poke him now grabbing Jordan's shoulder to steady herself. She'd felt quite dizzy just then. "Gah..sorry. I'm good, I'm fine. I'll go talk to Marcus and Gale about their trainees and check out their game plans." She released Jordan and stepped away. The dizziness was gone as quickly as it hit her, but she still felt off. She'd be fine. She wasn't walking unsteady or anything which was a good sign.

Jordan smiled tightly, reminded all over of things he didn't want to dwell on; but it melted into reluctant concern as Candace wobbled and had to steady herself on his shoulder. As she left, he frowned after her. Painkillers, she'd said. He turned to Cass before the other woman could leave also, catching her eye and asking quietly, "Will you keep an eye on her, please? I'm not so sure she's good to fight right now."

"Sure, I can talk at Marcus." Cass consented, but lingered as the older pair continued to talk about advance warnings and how to conduct themselves as things began to happen. Candace earned a small and concerned look before she went to make her own talks with Gale, giving Jordan a small look and nodding.
"Yeah, I thought she got hit a bit hard too...." she whispered back, masking concern as she moved to go make her way over to where the Moon Division had been working, finding Marcus and putting her hand on his shoulder gently.
"Hey B-Marcus," she needed to not call him 'Babe' on mission, "Suns and Mists are going to work to cover everybody. If you could keep your Lambs back that'd help us keep from tripping over each other. It seems like you already want them to do that, but... thought we'd let you in on what is happening."

Jordan nodded to Cass as she moved away, then went back over to station himself on the other side of the hole the yeti had made in the wall. "Anything moving out there besides snow?" he asked Rep.

Rep was staring irritably out at the swirling snow as Jordan headed over, giving him a cold look as he spoke up, still feeling defensive and irritated at the idea of people talking about him. This was what happened when you let other people fill the gap you should be filling by being a bully first really, you became the one people ******** looked down at, he almost wanted to ignore his question just to be a child about it all, just snub him. But this was still a mission and he'd promised himself he'd at least make an attempt to be civil on missions, to the point. Besides, real men were impervious to feeling stung, therefore, so was he.
"Nope. Just snow, snow and more ******** snow. Granted there could be another yeti out there, I wouldn't be able to see it without thermal or something."

Jordan nodded. "All right. I'm betting there's another one on the way. Something, if not a yeti - you heard that howl. Life and Moon squads will be staying out of the way if and when something turns up so Sun and Mist have more room to work." He summoned Ferros again and rested the hammer over his shoulder, nodding towards the axe in Rep's hand. "Tracey grumbling about being hungry yet?"

Candace missed the talk about her wellbeing and keeping an eye on her, having already walked away. She was fine! Really! The painkillers were helping. She pushed debris out of her way as she walked, further proving just how okay she was. Still, it wouldn't hurt to see a doctor about her head. Heads were delicate things.
"Hey, Chipmunk." Candace reached over to tap his shoulder before just draping over him from behind, her head resting on top of his and her arms over his shoulders. "How's your squad holding up, darlin'? Jordan, Cass and I were discussing some fighting strategies in case we encounter another monster of some kind. Wanna hear~?" She wasn't taking no as an option, but she figured she'd ask.

Rep nodded. "Shame we can't ditch the b***h division, but I guess we are at a numbers disadvantage." Maybe they could draw fire when the attack came while the men did their work in actually assaulting the beast.
His gaze moved to the axe and a fleeting look of confusion crossed his features. "Hungry?"
"Oh. He doesn't talk much." He mentally snarled at the angel to shut up and stop interrupting him, bulldozing on. "I've not heard him complain about being hungry, but I don't really hear much of what he has to say, its sort of a constant ******** whine frequency. He gets upset about all sorts of homo s**t though so I've started just asking him to shut the hell up or tuning him out." He shrugged. "Weapons get hungry though? What do they eat?" He knew there'd been a building sensation of power as he fought that led to the charge, but he had no idea what powered it, Tracey might have tried to explain, but he probably wasn't listening.
Besides, it helped him ignore his bruised pride talking about anything.

He heard the beginning of sir again, which made him feel vaguely uncomfortable and pleased all at the same time, but Gale cast a glance back over his shoulder at Sydney, a small frown on his face. There had been something about that yeti that was...off - like the fact that it had dissipated into, not FEAR, like they normally did, but something else - plain snow.
Something was not right.
"Not yet," said Gale, half to himself, but half to Sydney as well. "That yeti should have dissipated, but not in the way it did. Halloween creatures turn into FEAR when they're killed," he explained, looking over at the new trainee. "But this one...didn't."
Basically ignoring whatever might have been going on with the burly redhead and Jordan, Gale was still lost in his own thoughts when he heard a familiar voice just above him, a tap on his shoulder before two arms wrapped around him from behind.
Candace, of course; it wouldn't have been anyone else, except maybe Bix being a weirdo, but even then he usually didn't hug him from behind. Gale's eyes flickered upwards, catching sight of the dark hair.
"We're doing all right here - haven't figured out a way to turn on the computer, though," he replied, his cheeks faintly pink. His fingers absently curled and uncurled on the barrel of the rifle he held, the butt of it propped up against the floor, the weapon held vertical. "How are you guys doing? And yes, of course - any strategies are good.
"By the way, this is Sydney, but since she's a Mist trainee, I assume you probably already know her name. Sydney, this is Candace."

Bix was still watching the holes, especially after the the roof rattled. He watched Jordan pow-wow and immediately was glad that the other man had been appointed the leader for this mission. He motioned for Jordan to come over and spoke to him directly. "When that thing gets here.." He motioned to the shaking roof. "I think I would like to help out with it. Someone besides Fini needs to watch this door though. She's weidling sais.." The young woman had her back to them but her sais were summoned. "Not sure how much experience she's had with them. I'm not comfortable sending her against the yeti." She had to get really close. Bix was confident in his bow... and ability to stay out of direct danger because of it's range.
