Ferven winced when he got whacked by Mizu, climbing off of her and rubbing his head. "Sorry." He apologized to the girl, before giving a look of disappointment to where the field had been, then to Aqua. "I think we're okay, yeah. Though I'm a little...spent."
He frowned as he looked back at the area where he had been casting, suddenly quiet compared to his jovial attitude from before. With a sigh, he scratched his head. "Okay, maybe my pride is a little hurt."

"Oof, my prides are hurt," Mizu grunted, rubbing at her chest as she climbed to her feet. She had landed on a rather large, pointy rock, and she was afraid to find out what the bruise looked like. She looked around for her scattered Galiants, and found them sprawled—inasmuch as two chipmunks can sprawl—a few yards away. She lifted the duo gently in her hands, cradling them against her chest as they recovered. Dale still seemed dazed, but Chip shook his head violently and looked about.
"Well, I think we can honestly say that you're definitely getting stronger, Mizu."
"Either that or Ferv's gravity field did something weird to amplify my thunder bolts. … can gravity even do that?"
"Not usually," Master Aqua said, casting a quick Cure spell over the group to clean up any scrapes or bruises. "But I don't know if anyone has ever tried to use both spells in tandem before. How did your White Light react to being in the Gravity field, Alliyah?"

"Well I think it was kind of like how a black hole sucks in light with the mass amount of gravity it has, except on a smaller scale. It was like it was being sucked in but my magic power was trying to make it keep going. The power of our magic must be somewhat equal so it kinda just hung there in the middle." Alliyah smiled sheepishly. I hope that made sense... She thought.
"Well whatever it did...can we NOT do it again? Please?" Tod whined.

Classes continued throughout the week. Students continued to learn, develop, and accidentally blow each other up in creative and often inexplicable ways, especially in the alchemy class run by Professor Blackbelcher. Weeks passed and became months, and word slowly trickled in to the teachers about the war effort. No significant progress has been made, but neither has there been any significant losses.
Winter was drawing near, and with it the oncoming holiday season. Already there were decorations in the halls—mostly geared towards Halloween, as September was just ending—and enticing smells wafted through the halls from the kitchens. Rains saturated the grounds and classes were held primarily indoors, even on clear days. Temperatures dropped and there was a bite to the air, though frost hadn't yet begun to form.
People both inside and outside of the Academy were looking forward to a lull in the fighting for the holiday festivities. Twilight Town had several haunted houses set up, some with students volunteering as "scarers" in their free time. Already there were Christmas shops being opened, though they weren't as prevalent as they would be later in the year.
Rumors began to spread throughout the Academy, largely from student to student. These rumors centered on lavish holiday celebrations, first with trick-or-treating on Halloween night, and then a Christmas dance. No teacher would confirm these rumors; most smiled enigmatically and deftly changed the subject, but each held their peace in their own ways.

The time is now 8:00am on a Saturday, the last Saturday of September. No classes are held on the weekends, and students are spending their free time however they see fit. A heavy downpour assails the Academy, and distant rumbles of thunder can be heard, prompting most students to remain indoors.
Weather in Twilight Town is overcast and chilly with a slight breeze, but perfectly dry. Various venders have set up temporary stalls to sell hot drinks and snacks to visiting students.

Ferv yawned as he trudged through the halls. CC had woken him up, quite rudely, in fact. Ferven couldn't stand sleeping in crumbs, and eating cookies over him while he was sleeping was just...rude. Hence why CC was following behind instead of riding on his usual 'shoulder perch'.
Needless to say, he couldn't go back to sleep but was still tired. Zack had left, doing who knows what...well, the male had an idea but didn't want to dwell on it for too long.
He passed by the occasional other student, some of which avoided him. Mainly cause he was this big, lumbering, hairy beast in only a pair of sweatpants, and wasn't exactly always watching where he was going. Though he did seem to be on a form of 'auto-pilot'.
He stopped at the door, opened his eyes to blink at it, then opened it, stepping in.
"Hey, Mi-" something flew at him as he entered, his body naturally swaying to the side to avoid it as it hit something behind him. "-zu."
And with that, he yawned, then flopped down on Mizu's bed, face up, legs hanging off the bed...and not really caring what was on or in the bed when he flopped on it.

Mizu was debating getting up. No, really, she was! But it was raining and she hated rain. It was all drippy and wet and someone always wound up sick when it rained. Especially during the fall and winter rains, where it was not only wet and drippy, but cold, too. She was grateful all over again that her old guild mistress had kept everyone under a halfway decent roof and warm. More, she was grateful that the Academy had found her, and given her and her friends a way off the streets. Knowing that her "family" was warm and safe during the latter part of the year, when the weather turned nasty and sickness ran rampant… well, there were no words for that.
She heard footsteps padding their way down the hall, and knew immediately who it was. This had apparently become a ritual for them, and before the door had even opened, Mizu was groping around on her nightstand for the throwing knife she had taken to keeping there for just this purpose.
As the doorknob turned with a soft click, Mizu just grabbed the nearest object and flung it out the door—eliciting a startled shriek from Dale, who landed on his rump in the hallway. The startled chipmunk rubbed his sore tush and glared at Mizu before scampering back into the room as the door swung closed.
Ferven was learning to dodge. Wonderful.
Mizu grunted as Ferv's weight landed on her bed, and she tried to kick him off, but her legs were pinned under his hairy bulk.
"Mrt rrf rf mrh fert, mmf mrg blrf," she grumbled, her face pressed into her pillow with another covering her head. The arm that hadn't just thrown Dale into the hallway was draped over the top pillow, holding it firmly in place, while her throwing arm dangled off the side of the bed. Dale used the dangling arm to scale back up to his still-warm spot on Mizu's night stand, harrumphed, and curled back up to sleep.
Where the hell was Zikomo when you needed her?
Mizu translation, if it's needed: "Get off of my feet, you big jerk."

"Hush, I'm warming them." That was the plus about him, in a way. He was definitely a heater, giving off a lot of body heat. Partially cause he was from a cold, perpetually snowy place. The other was because he was also quite hairy.
CC curled up on 'his spot' on the floor at the foot of Mizu's bed, getting comfy, as Ferven continued to lay on Mizu's feet...before finally shifting so he wasn't. "Stupid, bony, lumpy feet..."
He stayed face-up, keeping his eyes closed as he lazily scratched at his abdomen. "I'm bored and tired. Tell me a story." He thought he felt a kick coming, and shifted to avoid it whether it came or not...half-heartedly, so if it did come, it probably still would have hit him.

In the bed above Leora, Alice continued to doze away as Leora washed up and got ready for the day ahead. In his own room, Lucius was doing the same. The two went through the exact same motions at the exact same time despite being in completely different rooms. By the time the two of them stepped out of their respective bathrooms, it was exactly 6:30AM. Alliyah yawned as she woke from her deep, rainy day slumber. Rainy days are perfect nap weather she thought. She sat up, yawned, and stretched out. Doing so roused Tod from his sleep as well.
She wondered what she would do today. Weather was somewhat nice in Twilight Town, but she didn't want to go outside in the rain at all if she didn't have to. It was still rather early so she wasn't sure if anyone was awake yet. Tod rolled over and went back to sleep. She brushed her hair, put on her bunny slippers, and left the room. She left a crack in the door to allow Tod to follow when he woke up.
She wandered down the hallway a bit only to almost be hit by a flying chipmunk. She was about to look and see what was going on when the door closed. Alliyah wanted to hang out with anyone, so she knocked a little bit on the door.

"Once upon a time, the end," Mizu grumbled, lifting her face enough to be coherent and shoving at Ferv's shoulder with her now suddenly cold foot. She wriggled around a bit and stuck her toes under his ribs as best she could without moving too far away from her pillows. When she heard the light knock on the door, she turned her head so one sleepy green eye could peek out, groaned, and shoved her head back into the fluffy darkness of her pillow-cave. "Get the door, freeloader."

A sudden snore could be heard from the lump under the blankets in the bed across the room. There was a brief pause, a sniffle, some wiggling from the lump, and Ziko suddenly emerged like an ugly bird hatching from a misshapen egg. There was a hint of the trail of drool that had gone from the corner of her mouth to her pillow, and her hair was out to here. She blinked her blue eyes slowly, trying to register exactly what was going on inside her room. Mizu was buried, Ferven looked about as tired as she felt, and there was someone at their door.
"Praise be to the cat god, we have visitors." She yawned, stretching before looking down at the t-shirt and underwear she was wearing. " . . . the hell are my pants?"

Ferven let out a grunt of denial, not wanting to get up...of course, he did get up, eyes squinting as he made his way to the door, giving a lazy wave to Zikomo as he made his way.
The male opened the door, blinked a couple times at the light, then looked at who had knocked. He stared through half-shut eyes, knowing she was familiar, but his tired brain wasn't cooperating.
"It's someone...I don't...bah." He left the door open, then flopped back onto Mizu's bed(missing her feet this time), laying face up. Then he suddenly snapped his fingers, lifting an arm to point at the girl that had knocked. "Magic class girl." And then his arm dropped. That's all he was going to get. Horrible with names, and being tired wasn't going to help the process. He was lucky enough to have gotten that much.

~~ Shion: Land of Departure:: Outside Training Grounds~~~
The weather did nothing to deter the consistent training regimen of the squire. The free time provided gave her extra moments to do some hard core training for endurance. Dressed in her under tunic, simple breaches and a short cloak, the grey haired woman could be seen running laps. First around the school itself, then up the trail. The rolling thunder didn’t make her quake, but instead thrilled her, making her heart pound. She could smell the electricity in the air, would there be lightening?
She passed the place where she and Zack sparred twice now and was making her way back when a particularly loud crack came from the horizon. A thunderous roar followed and she had to stop, to admire. The power of raw nature always have the swordsmen pause.
Deciding she was winded and could sue a moment to breathe Shion took shelter under a tree, though the action was pointless given she was soaked in her shoulders, hair and back already. Her silver hair clung to her skin and she wipes it back behind an ear. She could see the academy in the diastance, it would be a good 10 minutes and she'd be back- yet, she didn't want to leave just yet. Raising her gaze to the sky she watched the storm with respectful awe.

Cael was still fast asleep, an open book perched precariously on his bedside table, still open to the last page he'd had it on.

Lucius and Leora had learned that some time ago when they had decided on a whim that they wanted him to accompany some activity or another and had rudely awaken him by flopping right down on his lower bunk. From that day on, "Don't wake up Cael," had become one of their rules.
However, the two twins had just realized there was a loophole to this rule. Of course, they just had to exploit it. Besides, it was such a wonderful day out, with water falling from the sky, shade everywhere, and the occasional exciting flash of lightning followed by a bang of thunder. Even if Cael was like everyone else and would rather avoid the outside on this day, he could still be making friends.
As one, Lucy and Leo crept up to Cael's bed a little after 8 in the morning, approaching it as sneakily as they possibly could. both of them thought, Minimize point being the point that Cael shrunk towards from both ends of his body. In perfect resonance, the two of them cast the mini spell on Cael before jumping back in anticipation of a scolding. They hoped that Cael would not wake from their magic. He shouldn't, at least.
