Alex smiled a bit as she listened to the sound as well. Another noise caught her attention and she looked to Sapphire with a small smirk. "You hungry?"
"Can you tell?" the woman asked as she glanced over at Alex, one hand over her noisy stomach. The smell of the food really didn't help anything. She'd been out cold for a few days, and when she woke up, all she had to eat were crackers.

It had been awhile since Kai passed out from sheer lack of energy but after the last ten to twenty minutes she began to start healing. It wasn't really fast but a bit faster than that of a normal human being. Still unconscious her thoughts came back to her. She began dreaming of her childhood, a thought that lay down while she went to find Kane. He reminded her of that childhood, almost reliving that childhood in a dream in her current state as her body temp rose a little as her body struggled to fight the poison with the magic she had. One of the souls she had was starting to wear away. Her hand twitched a sign she'd been dreaming consciously but still too weak to wake.

Dundee stepped back a minute when Kai twitched. Of course, he was a little surprised but he was glad that Kai was doing better. He looked down at his arm. The scar had definitely left a mark, but he could feel that something . . . wasn't all that right in his own brain. How this was going to work would be dependent on the situation at hand.
C.J., meanwhile was making with one of his better cooking days as he finished making those steak sandwiches from earlier. Of course, realizing that Bruce Wayne was out of town when he stumbled across (Of all things!) a recipe for French Onion soup! If I EVER meet Bruce in this RP . . . ! he thought as he put the three sandwiches on the table. "Dig in, y'all. They're a lot better while they're still hot." he said with a smile and sat down with them. Of course HE still didn't realize who was under the mask yet.

After a few moments, Reaper returned to the room with Kai and Dundee with the equipment he was asked to go get.
Alex dug in immediately. The heat did nothing to harm her mouth. Compared to a list of things she'd had in her mouth before, this thing was luke warm to her. She glanced over at Sapphire as she ate, then paused a moment. The woman was just sitting there staring hesitantly down at her plate.
"You going to eat or not?" she asked.
"Of course."
"Little easier to do it without the mask." Alex said as she bit into her meal again.
Sapphire looked at the plate, then hesitantly looked up at CJ. As much as she wanted to eat, everything about her body language said that she did NOT want to move her mask.
Understandable though. She sat down for a meal with the last man she was in the company with. Then one thing led to another. And she got the nice take-home prize of twins and a psycho stalker caveman. Needless to say she was not in the mood to pull off her mask in front of strange men anytime soon.

Dundee smiled. "Awesome! Looks like she's doin' better, but once she wakes up, we'll be able to find out for sure." Dundee said. He was much more of the studious person out of the three. C.J. pretty much played in bands all the time and Arell didn't go to college.
Meanwhile, C.J. smiled. Strange? Sapph, you're friends with the real version of me on faceboo- oh right, I'm also friends with someone in Au-flippin'-Stralia on FB who wants me to play with them. C.J. thought, carefully hiding the annoyance from hopping down to his side of the 4th wall. He smiled as he heard them talk.
"Doan' worry, I'm no serial killer or nothin'. Unless you're allergic to Cajun seasonin'." he said with a smirk, trying to play off the awkwardness of eating lunch with someone in the mask who sounded familiar.

"Ah. Very good then." Reaper replied as he set everything down on a nearby table. He looked down at Kai as he drew closer to her. Just to....get a better look at her. Make sure she was alright. And not bleeding. Oh no...it wouldn't do if she started bleeding again.
Sapphire looked at CJ for a long moment, then carefully slipped the bottom of her mask up and over the top of her nose. Just far enough to allow her to eat. "I'm sorry. It's just....the last time I took off my mask to eat in front of someone I didn't know.........well....."
"You won a take-home prize?" Alex asked as she took another bite.
".......................................in quite a few ways." Sapphire replied as she began to eat her own meal. ".........thank you. By the way. It was nice of you to make us something to eat as well."

Dundee smiled. "Best thing right now is t' give her some space. She may wake up an' get disoriented about things." he said. He learned that well. One night, C.J. and Arell both drunkenly staggered aboard the circus train in New Orleans one night and woke up in Paducah, KY hungover, disoriented and having to return to the Crescent City to reclaim the motorcycle and pickup truck they left behind.
Meanwhile C.J. smiled. "Doan' worry about it, y'all. Ol' recipe I got from my grampa before I left. Tastes a little better with Venison though." he said with a shrug. However, he was surprised when she only half took off her mask. "Oh!! I'm C.J. by the way." he said with a smile.

Reaper glanced back at him, then smiled a bit as he drew back. "I suppose so." he said as he moved back and took a seat next to the wall. Then he chuckled a bit. "Seeing me hovering over her as she wakes up probably isn't something she wants anyway." he said with a small grin.
"I'm Alex." Alex said with a grin, then gestured over to Sapphire. "And this is...heh...Sapphire Spider."
Sapphire was gently holding one hand over her mouth, trying to hide the bottom half of her face and the larger than intended bite of food she was trying to chew down. She was...a little hungrier than she anticipated.

A flash of orange light occurred in a room near Alex, Sapphire, and CJ, and Lucas Ellison fell onto the floor with a loud thud... still sleeping soundly. His scent would be very easy for Alex to catch.

Dundee smirked. "That's why I'm staying back. There are many ways to thank a person for getting them to a bed. An uppercut to the face usually isn't one of them." he said as he leaned against the wall.
"It' -GULP!- It's very nice to meet you both." he said, remembering to swallow as well. However, with that loud thud and bright light, something had definitely gotten the young man's attention.
"Bruce really, REALLY needs to fix that door. Otherwise Alfred's gonna freak with all these surprise guests dropping in . . ." he said with a deadpan voice and took another bite.

And she did. It was a little hard to catch over the aroma of food around her, and she for a moment she thought she was just...smelling things.
Alex paused in the middle of another bite and glanced towards the doorway. She stared quietly for a moment and sniffed the air.
"Something wrong?" Sapphire asked.
"...........................I....I just caught a whif of something. Someone. I'm, ah, I'm going to go check it out. You just sit and eat." Alex replied as she stood from her seat. Her eyes still fixed completely on the doorway. Without another word, or so much as a glance back at CJ, Alex moved out of the room and disappeared.
Sapphire shifted uncomfortably in her seat and turned her attention back to her food.
When Alex finally came to the room, she stopped in the doorway and just stared down at the snoring figure lying on the floor. "Lucas?!"
How did...how did he get here?

"Five more minutes Mommy, I don't wanna go to Mr. Johnson's ballet recital..." Lucas muttered, rolling over on the floor and trying to find a more comfortable position. Then he snorted, recognizing the voice and then freaking out, momentarily flopping around in the air like a fish and looking at her when he landed.
"Alex? What's wrong? Are you hurt? Where am I?! If anyone's hurt you, I'll--" he said, getting up more quickly than anyone could anticipate and looking at Alex with utmost seriousness.

"Incoming plot twi- oh bother, it already happened!" he said out loud, despite realizing that nobody else save for Deadpool and Joker would have gotten any idea about what he was talking about. Shrugging he smiled and took a bite of the food.
"You alright, Sapph? You seem about as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room fulla rockin' chairs." he asked, taking the time to wipe some mustard off the side of his mouth.

Alex just stared back at him with very wide, surprised eyes. She was caught between wanting to laugh and just being confused. Very confused.
"......................I...we were eating in the other room when I suddenly caught you scent. So I came in here and found you sleeping." she replied, then blinked. "I...I'm fine though. I haven't been out and about yet to really get hurt or anything."

Sapphire looked up at CJ and gave him an uneasy smile. "I'm fine. I just..." she began, then sighed. "The last time I had dinner with someone, it ended rather badly. And I don't like being in someone else's house without actually being invited. I'm just.....out of my comfort zone right now. That's all." she replied.
