Arachne tried attacking again, hitting out at the barrier that the figure had conjured, but the table leg just ricocheted off, leaving her arm jarred and tingling.
She wasn't sure why she was attacking still, none of her attacks had so far done any damage but she wasn't going to stand idly by and let herself, or her fellow students, her friends get turned into weapons.

It came as a shock to Astra that this figure, by the sounds of it, had not been a reaper, but changed into one. She was unable to exclaim this out loud, as she knelt on the floor, more of her precious FEAR being sucked away. Did she even have the energy to stand let alone attack?
Around her she could see the other students continue to launch attacks, but the shield that had been summoned by him was doing a very good job at protecting the reaper from their attacks. Perhaps it would be better for her to Hold back for now, and hope the barrier would be let down long enough to allow them to attack again.
"What do you mean?!" She shouted, or at least tried to shout, at the figure. "Are you talking about your weapon??" It would be nice if she could get this guy to do a exposition...

He had tried, he really hard, but no matter how he willed himself to stand, the dragon was no closer to standing. Arrgg...he had been forced to hang back, his strength drained, watching helplessly as his comrades attacked only to bounce off the barrier.
Sheridan was trying to make sense of it all, thoughts and ideas bouncing around his head at each word from the hooded reaper (what it really a reaper?). Why, why the hell has they been brought here, WHO THE HELL THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA?! Who's -brilliant- idea had it been to ever set foot on this island let alone bring the -students- here?!
Angry, furious! How many victims had been lured to this island? How many had fallen, been toyed with, and then USED by these bastards? What fate had been planned for -them-? Cosmos damned if he was going to be anyone's weapon!

Mac was listening; the enemy was right, of course; they were blaming them for all the inconveniences that happened to them so far when really...none of them would have happened had they hadn't shown up to begin with. If the Headmistress didn't demand them to go on a boat and come here, there wouldn't have been any maddening fog, no attacks or falling from ceilings...none of that. He hadn't been at the Academy to see the attacks they made on the School grounds. He had heard of them, but even with that, so as far as he was concerned...this other Cloaked one was in the right.
They were the problem here.
He flinched as he was hit again, only adding to the pain from his entire body. He was hurting all over, miserable because of it, and tired of all this. Why should they, or did they have to, do this? Black eyes gazed around at the group; all of them worked up, all of them hitting the point of exhaustion that their enemy was; most were able to stand but Sheridan...Sheridan was on the floor. And Charlie...wow, Charlie was pissed. So mad he couldn't speak, or make a sound; that was...a very scary Charlie.
Their cloaked enemy continued and Mac had to pause, his eyes going wide. Wait...did he...imagine that right? Lizzy's words summed up what he thought nicely; the Weapon was the 'him' from the story? No way, he didn't want to end up like 'him', either of them, really. Not a chance! Whether or not it was their fault for being here in the first place, they were here now, and their lives and futures were clearly in danger. He had a discussion earlier, about why he was here.
Not listen to some Reaper tell them they were wrong, or to be drained of FEAR to nothing. He was here to save his friends. They were probably doomed at this point and that barrier around the cloaked one seemed impossible to get passed, but he had to try. At least...he wasn't going to go down with a fight.
That thought surprised him, who usually ran from physical conflicts.
With that in mind, he took up his bat again, drawing in a breath as though it would hold back the searing pain in his chest, and swung.

The fear being sucked from them was growing heavy in Charlies chest and head. He felt like the breath was being stolen. Still, he had no idea about the technicalities of what was actually happening to him and his friends. The demon just knew one thing. Everyone was suffering for reasons he might not understand or grasp but EVERYONE was suffering.
In a burst of energy and strength the demon grabbed his wooden sword and charged the barrier. Swinging with as much power the little fallen could gather he actually made contact.
"Heeeee," Charlie gave the hooded figure a sadistic smile before falling backwards. The moment of energy and strength left him and Charlie was back down on the floor laying upright on his back.
"...You ... You.. don't deserve ..... that ... hoodie..." The pink haired demon managed between heavy breathing.

Eyes widening at what the cloaked one had said, Jericho stared at the spear with dismay. The student had been turned into that?! That must mean that all the other 'Reapers' they faced... their weapons were the same.
There was no way in hell the dragon was going to let that fate befall his friends too. Though he saw the barrier go up, he wasn't about to let that keep him from attacking.
"Damn you... " he growled before beginning to strike at the cloaked one relentlessly. It was exhausting, it hurt some to move at this point, and he wasn't doing much with that barrier in the way, but he couldn't give up now, "WE WILL NOT BE MADE INTO YOUR STUPID WEAPONS!"

His Fear strength was leaving him and his mind was spinning. What had the cloaked figure just said? He'd turned a student into..into a weapon. A real weapon. Not just some metaphor, but...It was a horrible thought and it made little sense to Draven at this moment. No, it was better to focus on the fight in front of him.
Summoning up the strength to fight was getting more difficult, and now the enemy had some kind of barrier up. He could tell it was getting desperate, that they all were. The enemy was weak, but they hadn't won yet, and they were getting weaker. They couldn't give up, though. Draven knew that much.
So, with that in his mind, Draven stepped forward and put all of his strength into his next swing, hoping it would do some damage past that barrier. "We won't let you win!" .

Malodore moved from standing back to lunging at the figure, this time not with its book but with its tailblade clutched between its hands; unfortunately, its strike was completely absorbed by the shield. "It doesn't have to be this way!" it shouted - focusing not on the cloaked figure, but on their weapon. "We can help you - you aren't a tool to be used, no matter what the one holding you says!"
It hadn't the faintest idea of how they could help, but surely in Halloween Town there were masters with enough knowledge to provide aid. It also hadn't the faintest idea if its words could even reach the student in his current form, but hadn't the cloaked one spoken to the weapon earlier...? Perhaps it could prompt some form of exposition...

Aksaja frowned at the figure's newest words, trembling as he attempted to stay on his own feet. Some of the others had also been badly hurt, he could see . . . but the lightning dragon wasn't about to give up. This was a lot more serious than the killer-deer back in Christmas and he hadn't given up then, so he wasn't about to do so now.
Fists clenched and he charged at the barrier, pipe raised and sparking with bits of electricity. "If that's true, then why are you using him now?" he snarled as he bashed at the barrier. "Let him go, or let him speak for himself if he can!" He had no idea if that would be possible but some kind of exposition could reveal more.

A weapon. A literal weapon. Just a tool for these bastards to use in their games.
This revelation caused Mandy to surge up snarling from where she knelt, boosted on by the outraged cries of her fellows, and strike at the figure with all her might.
The barrier may have weakened her actions but it had not stopped them.
A weapon. Her words before still rung true but now she could not help but feel a twinge of sympathy for the student who had been forever trapped, starved of FEAR.

For a moment the cloaked figure looked ready to collapse, even their last hope to hold out, the shield, was beginning to flicker and die. He had no more breath to waste on answers and taunts. They almost had him beat. And then the entire island shook. "...s**t." Pulling themselves up once again, the figure reached into their coat and pulled out a small glowing ball. "...gonna... get dangerous." And tossed it down. For a moment, nothing. And then a blinding surge of FEAR filled the room. Once the students could see again, the figure was, of course, gone. The force of the FEARsplosion had shattered the chair and table, their splinters causes some stinging damage to the students. Books and papers lay scattered across the tiled floor, and the door to the room has been blown straight off. Above them, the glowing door continued to rotate... Damage to attackers: 3 Damage to those hanging back: 2 Round 3 Finish Who will be the first to walk towards the stairs, leading to the door?

As the figure tossed that glowing ball, Aksaja's eyes widened and he attempted to dive for some kind of cover, sensing an impending attack.
But that didn't work so well when his chosen cover all-but EXPLODED IN HIS FACE as the FEARball went off. Ow . . . Jack . . . he hurt. Having been knocked into a wall as well, the lightning dragon groaned softly as he slid down to the floor, shards of wood stuck here and there in his flesh. Moving carefully, he started to pick them out, cursing softly.
His head spun from hitting the wall and Aksaja really . . . wasn't entirely sure he could get up again on his own. This was so not fun. Why couldn't they have FUN field trips at this damn school?

At the figures appearance of fatigue Mandy felt a brief flicker of satisfaction and happiness; they where almost down and whilst injured they could still carry on.
And then like every other flicker of hope it was quickly snatched as the island shook. Her mind barley had a second to shout earthquake before the figure dropped the orb, light flashing before her eyes.
Uuuuurgh, what?
Struggling up from where she had fallen at the blast she spat out a mouthful of blood, limbs shaking from the drain. How much more of this could they take?
When she realized that the figure was gone and the way back was blocked a well of both relief and frustration welled up in her before she pushed it down, now was not the time, now was for moving forward.
"Come on, only one way out." with that Mandy made her slow way forward and up the stairs towards the glowing door.

As moved to take that first step, a dark, heavy coat flew past her head and landed before her. The moment it hit the ground, several spears shot up from the ground, impaling it. At the broken door way a small, imperious figure is giving Mandy bitchface. " You again." He scowls for a moment before sighing, "For every village: an idiot." He kicks a book to the left and another spear shoots up. "This place is full of traps you know. I'll help you a bit, since you got him to overload and destroy the barrier. But I can only move one of you at a time without triggering any traps. So try not to let your natural foolishness get the better of you." With a twist of his wrist, he floats Mandy ever so carefully up to the platform with the portal. "Next?" FINAL ROUND Choose: Say you're next! Roll one six-sided die, if you roll a 3 or a 6, Conquest slipped up and you get impaled, shot at, lit on fire, quickly poisoned, or any other number of horrible and sudden ways to die in a room full of armed traps. Any other number and you arrive safely at the portal. Choose to wait! Roll 1 four-sided die, if you roll a 1 Conquest moves you anyways, and you safely arrive at the portal. If you roll a 2, 3, or 4, you accidentally set off a trap, it's a near miss, but you only loose 2hp! YOU MUST REACH THE PORTAL TO GO ON TO THE NEXT PART!

Sharra stepped up then, utterly aghast at what had just occurred before them. The FEAR blast had barreled them all over, and he'd reached out for Aksaja, to help the dragon boil up...
...when suddenly the new fellow showed up. Just all kinds of peachy, and for stepping through a door? Not half bad. For a moment, he held a touch of hope that they'd all make it through this, strange kid with levitation powers notwithstanding. Taking a slow breath in, he stepped right up. Mandy seemed to have gotten across all right...but...even as he was being levitated across, feet lifting from the floor, he marveled at the sensation of being nigh-on weightless.
And then it was all gone. A sharp, stabbing pain through his ribs...his back? He wasn't sure, and then, he looked down, to see blood, a spike that had penetrated all the way from his lower torso and up through his ribcage, emerging just below the shoulder in a diagonal fashion. Ah...Jack... Green eyes were panicked for just a moment, and he wrapped claws about the stake as though he could heft himself off of it with sheer force of will.
...but it wasn't enough...and he felt himself flitting away, crumbling almost, darkness encroaching upon his vision. Ah no...couldn't die here...couldn't...
...but it seemed that he could.
