Calder was right - none of it was sounding perticularly grand.
At least, not as far as Ziyah was concerned. The sound that had came out of her little kazoo was... Well. She wasn't even sure a kazoo was supposed to make that sound.
Oh dear.
Well, try, try again, right ? She brought the instrument to her lips once more.

Rosc watched as the smaller student took the cello from his hold and walked up to the professor. Blue took the cello without a word that Rosc could tell, then produced a smaller cello. Despite everything, despite his headache, despite his hand throbbing still from the bite, despite his frustration over being saddled with a harp, his mouth still quirked up slightly at one side. He turned then, knowing that she would be okay now that she had something she could actually hold, returning to his seat and sitting back down.
The harp was there and he frowned at it a bit. He wondered if being good at it would take away from the fact that it was an extremely girly instrument.

At first, Amrita started to panic. Blue didn't say anything, he just nodded and took the bigger instrument away; did the nod mean okay? Did it mean get out of my class? Did it mean lets get you something entirely different? Noticable relief flooded her features when he returned with a smaller Cello.
"Th-thank you, Professor." Amrita said, straining her voice to not stutter so much. The half-sized Cello was much easier for her; it was still pretty big, but she assumed that was the point. Why would anyone want an instrument that was about as big, if not bigger, than they were? It didn't make sense at all!
She returned to where she had been previously, near the demon who had been kind enough to give her a suggestion. If she couldn't get this smaller Cello to work for her, she'd need to get some help...

Oooh, but she was so close that time! Maybe....maybe just one more attempt at it before asking for help. Besides, the Cello-knowledgeable Demon was off playing with his harp again...it would be a shame to interrupt him once more!
What was left of her lips pressed into a thin line of concentration again, leaning the half-size Cello against herself and drawing the bow along the strings once more.

Okay, maybe it wasn't the size of the instrument that had made her fail. Perhaps it had always been just strictly her; She could hold this Cello kind of, and she was still having a hard time with it! Not realizing that instruments were rather difficult to play with backwards hands, she put the blame entirely on herself. The guitar was easy enough to handle, and it had strings! Clearly this one shouldn't be so difficult, either!
"U-uhm...Ex....excuse me...?" She murmured to the Demon that had helped her before; she didn't want to interrupt him and in fact she looked suitably uncomfortable for the troubles, but she just couldn't do this alone! "C-can I...uhm, ....h-help? Please...?" Despite asking for help though, she continued to try and play; she had lost a lot of time in getting the half-size, she needed to catch up!

Barth reluctantly allowed Gabrian to tug him to his feet. Everyone always assumed he did not want to be on the floor. But they meant well. He guessed.
"Thank you" Barth said, voice still a little wheezy. "But I think that fellow...probably needs more help than I do." Israfel had saved him from the tuba, after all. Even if it involved a lot of screeching. Or had Christof? Either way. "Err, Professor? Could you, err...Oh."
Never mind. Calder had taken care of it.

He had moved away from Seph and the other girl, planning on finding them after class to arrange some time for them to hang out. This just wasn't the time, especially now that they had been assigned instruments.
Myr was a little unsure about playing the Piccolo that he was assigned, he had only played the piano before, so he examined it for a few moments before attempting to play it.

That was spectactular, well, a spectacular fail that was, but he vaguely remember being terrible at the piano as well when he had began. If only he had some sort of instruction manual. Perhaps he could check the maul later, see if there wasn't some sort of guidebook that could help him out.
He blew into it again, positioning his fingers differently. Perhaps that would help.

The Demon seemed too busy to hear her, and so the Vetala, frowning unhappily to herself, continued to play. It was terrible, and she was getting increasingly upset with her repeated failures. With a soft sigh, she tried again, varying pressure on the bow to attempt to get a passable sound.

That last one sounded....okay. Like, nearly passable! At least to her, anyway. It didn't seem to shriek as much as the last few tries. With the tip of her tongue caught between her teeth, she furrowed her brow and tried to do what she had done before. She was getting closerrrrr!

Or not. That one was close to the sound she had made before, though! Amrita glanced up to see if the blindfolded Demon was still busy, and when she saw him still plucking away at the Harp, she decided it best to just leave him be. So she continued trying to produce that almost-okay sound.

Another close attempt! Luckily for her, she was an almost-zombie, and the repeated movements of drawing the bow across the strings hadn't yet started to hurt or ache the borrowed limbs. Though, unlike the last time, she mostly gave up trying to be perfect at it or to mimic it correctly...she just dragged the bow across the strings and hoped for the best.

Well, that didn't work, but she was giving up, or at least starting to...so it didn't surprise her. She could outrun a fire beast, fight weird plush things and crazy washing machines and almost play a guitar...and yet she couldn't handle the Cello? It wasn't faaaair.

"I...."A half lidded eye of absolute despair suddenly perked up and widened brightly...well, as brightly as a corpse eye could get. That sound...it sounded like an actual note! Sitting up straight again, she beamed with pride and fought back the urge to hug the half-sized Cello for letting her pass. "...I...I did it!"
