Alrighty, so there are no heartless around our immediate area thanks to Axel's sacrifice. Are there still a bunch of heartless on the bridge? Or did the lady in red kill 'em off and now we have an opening to just go for it?

Also, I made it a point, a very specific point to say my character went to the cabinets on the train. The intention was to stock up on ethers, high potions, and elixers like crazy. But I only posted that I got a neat journal book thing, hur de hur. Can I retrospectively say I have x amount of ethers from the train cabinets?

As far as insane mage lady, the idea is that she is slowly but steadily carving a path, yeah.

As far as the cabinets, I'd imagine so, personally, just as long as you remember to keep it to 2 Potions and 2 Ethers, since they're all the train currently stocks.

Had to check a few things--I remembered it being Ga, not Ja, but then I realized it was Ja in your abilities, so odds are we changed it awhile back a short time after your profile.

As such, I'm gonna go ahead and change your profile to say Reflega instead, and say yes, you can learn it :3 Since the -Ga's are possible after Magic 11.

Final Word on Elements


Hah. Remember this? I remember this. This was that post that I said would be the last change for elements. No more, I insisted. Everything is finally perfect!

I am stupid and it's okay to hate me.

Long story short, after someone made a comment in the chat, I went back and took a look at the various resistances and weaknesses. I figured I'd count them out and hope for a decent average--except some elements were resisted more often than others, and some elements were stronger more often than others.

Once again, in trying to make something that tied them all together, it just made things imbalanced. So why even bother continuing when it's stupidly complicated and completely not intuitive?

I scrapped the hexagon-ring of the top six. I scrapped as much intermingling as I could find. And, as most of you have said at one time or another, I just made things binary, as they've always been in the games and as they always should have been to begin with but I am stupid.

The elements are all paired up, and are all weak to their opposite.

Fire <---> Ice
Thunder <---> Water
Wind <---> Earth
Nature <---> Poison

Space and Time, and Light and Darkness, are still the same (because they were already binary).

For stuff I'm still conflicted about:
As far as natural resistances go, I've gone ahead and simplified that too: resistances are also binary now. For now, I've only done the primal 6 elements. The pairs are:

Fire >< Thunder
Wind >< Water
Ice >< Earth

Fire and lightning are both forms of hot, destructive energy.
Air and water are both changing, fluid, and able to adapt.
Ice and earth are both solid, unyielding, and stable.


Hopefully this is more intuitive than the convoluted mess I put in place before. I'll be going through and changing profiles, and if this actually affects anyone's chosen resistances, I'll send out messages and work with you as always. Here's to hoping I don't screw anything else up.

I also need to go ahead and add this to the front page anyway, so I'll get that done.

Because I technically already knew Reflega, having over 11 magic and all, can I learn something else? I'd like to learn Blinding Refraction. cat_smile

Also, how far along do I have to be for my Invisibility to be immune to magical sensing?

Blinding Refraction unlocked :3

Being invisible to magical sensing is pretty much the last level of invisibility, so level 6 or at least 14 magic (which you can get with Faith or other Magic boosts). However, you are level 4 with high magic, too, so I'm gonna go ahead and add that you have the option to no longer make sound. It's all based on how much mana you really wanna use.

Being that invisibility is your 'specialty', you could also start to branch out with it, as if visibility or presence itself were your element. Just figured I'd offer up the option to think about :3

DM Note: As of the end of the Narration post, "Clash on the Big Bridge" ALL stat boosts and buffs have been nullified. This includes but not limited to supportive spells like protect, reflect, bravery, or en- spells that alter elemental properties.

Edited my post to include more of a reaction to the happenings, and added some dialogue to the end. Also edited the part about my concern for those who charged forward. I re-read and way more people are charging.

Also, I have a question. I noticed Dani did a tidal wave, but the only response to it was in Bobbi's post. Was the tidal wave possible? At that time, I think, the lake was still frozen over. Is there any particular reason there was no response to Dani's post? Did the lady in red get hit by the tidal wave? Any remaining heartless on the bridge at that time?

Oh, it was possible. I'm assuming most people(at least I did, anyway), forgot to react to it mainly because of the latest Rhiko post. However I should go edit that into my post right now

Like Joe said, it was possible, since it was covering the entrance of the bridge, which we just got beyond anyway. "...to make a tidal wave in an attempt to kill any heartless near the bridge but not harm the bridge itself." Rhiko mentioned the ice was cracking all around the moat anyway since our crash, so there may have been openings, and even if not, her magic probably would have been strong enough to break the ice anywho.

My personal lack of response was mostly just that there was so much else going on to begin with. I didn't want to spend half a post just... recapping, I guess? I didn't mean my lack of detail to be a form of invalidation, just that it was another assault in a long series of attacks xD

The red lady was well beyond the beginning of the bridge by the time of Dani's tidal wave, so no.

At the time of the wave, there might have been a handful, but I imagine Rhiko just went with the fact that the tidal wave washed them away, since his next post made all Heartless in the area kind of moot anyway.

I guess I took her post to mean the entire bridge, and the bridge just wouldn't be affected by the attack 'cause it wasn't meant to harm the bridge. Sort of like attacks aren't meant to harm allies. The entrance of the bridge makes much more sense. XD Ignore me.

Heyo!

Small announcement, mostly just to keep everyone up to date: with James' help, we combined a lot of information that's been changed overtime into a single Combat Info post.

Obviously, it's a heavy amount of information, so while I tried to make things concise, I know it's still not as good as can be. And much to my annoyance, I couldn't use the 'list' formatting without everything hugging one side, even with different list layers... yay old posts. Anywho, as usual, feel free with the questions. The combat info is relatively important in making sure things stay balanced, which is kind of necessary when you have as many people as we do x-x
