Micheal smirked, judging there was far more than what Watari was telling him. He leaned forward slightly, "I'm merely curious. Who am I going to tell? You ought to know from your studies that we are as truthful to mortals as we are liars to each other. I rather doubt I'm going to walk down the street and see a line of your enemies waiting for me to stroll along and tell them all they would like to know." Tucking some hair needlessly behind a pointed ear, the demon smiled reassuringly. "What did you do? Blow yourself up, die on accidental discovery of a toxin? Party too hardy one weekend? Forget to look both ways and crossing the street in front of a bus? Play chicken with a railroad train? Pee on an electric fence?" He chuckled, and spread his hands innocently wide. In retrospect he was doing a decent job of seeming trustworthy, who could tell if he was or not. For all purposes, the demon was being honest in his curiousity. As far as he knew, he had no intention of telling what he learned here to anyone. At least not cheaply. Everyone had a price after all, it would be foolish to think one had no price or could be broken. He'd learned that lesson often enough. This was where lying creatively came in handy. If one lied creatively enough, the truth wouldn't be believed when it finally did come forth. Although with mortals and those he could easily overpower, the truth was a weapon too good to pass up.

"I hope you mean that." Tsuzuki said as he stretched out beside the doctor, wrapping an arm possessively around him. "Because I can promise you, nothing could ever make me forget you, or this..."

"That puts my mind at ease." Muraki teased slightly, reaching one hand down to rest over Tsuzuki's encompassing arm. "You were quite... skilled, Tsuzu..." but then the doctor corrected himself. "Asato."

Smirking, somewhat darkly, one golden eyebrow arched as the scientist spoke. "Not even the one I hold dearest to my heart knows that secret, Micheal... I highly doubt I would share it with you for any reason." Watari leaned forward slightly, his gaze fixed on the demon. "I'll say this however... My death wasn't accidental." Of course the scientist head meant Tatsumi as the one 'dearest' to his heart... and it was true. Tatsumi didn't know how Watari died. No one save Enma-sama knew that... and the blond was going to keep it that way as long as he could.

"Hmph" Micheal dropped back against the sofa causing it to slide back a few inches. The demon crossed his arms across his chest. "Foul play? Or Suicide? You don't really seem the type to suicide." He shrugged. "But then I'm not a perfect judge of mortals at the best of times."
His eyes were sharp with honest interest, totally disregarding the hint that Watari had someone close to his heart. In all honesty, he had a slightly different definition of love than most mortals had. He saw his body as a tool to achieve his goals, anything related to anything but the strongest emotions he refused to share unless he felt the individual was worthy of that honesty.

Watari leaned back against the chair, shrugging nonchalantly. "I'm not going to tell you. No matter how you ask it." a smirk curved the edge of the shinigami's lips however. "And here I thought demons excelled at judging mortals and finding their weaknesses... perhaps that gift isn't granted to all demons then, hmm?" In truth, the scientist wanted to learn as much about demons as he himself could... mainly because their dealings with them in the past had been so haphazard and nearly fatal. Knowledge was power to Watari Yutaka... and he thought of himself as a virtual sponge for information.

Micheal shrugged, "Everyone has their own special talents. Mine lay elsewhere." The demon grinned, his ears twitched slightly. "You can keep your secret, And if you want to be overly specific you aren't exactly a mortal now." His stance relaxed a bit but he seemed alert somehow as if Watari had touched a nerve.

Unlike the demon... Watari excelled at reading body language. And he quickly picked up on the heightened alertness of the being across from him. "Shinigami can still be killed... as I'm sure your kind are aware." the scientist reminded him with a slight smile. "It just takes a lot to do one of us in."

Micheal snorted and looked away. "I'm not that kind of demon either. Unless provoked." Now that he thought about it, he was rather lazy despite all his power. He would actually fight for the sheer rush of fighting but all save other demons survived with no more but scrapes and bruises. Only when it was taken too far and there was no help for it. The demon leaned forward, resting his chin on one of his hands. "You couldn't have brought me here just to challenge me to a fight did you? That would be rather poor judgement on your part."

At this, the shinigami couldn't help but laugh softly. "I don't like to fight, if you want my honest answer. There's too much to gain without dueling." Of course, Watari knew he would lose a fight with a demon, especially one on one. His powers were... different and helpful... but they were nothing compared to the sheer power of Tsuzuki or the stealth of Tatsumi. Sometimes... even Hisoka seemed stronger than he was. Of course, the scientist wasn't about to show his power to a demon without a need for it. Few had ever seen him resort to spells or charms... fewer still had ever witnessed him conjuring up the inanimate from nothing but a piece of paper and a pen. "Is it wrong of me to want to know more about you?" the blond asked, amber gaze focused solely on the demon and on nothing else.

"Huh." Micheal shrugged with one shoulder. "It's all the same to me." He leaned back again, flexing just a little bit. The black haired demon seemed rather confused as to how to take this little bit of information. Oh well, he thought, not really anything to lose He could probably find out more information than what he thought. "Ask away. I have a rather unlimited amount of time. Unless I find Otori first. As yet I have a long cold trail that leads no where."

"And here I thought you'd rather be mysterious." Watari spoke, standing up and retrieving his laptop. It only took a few moments to turn on and connect wirelessly, and soon the scientist was sitting in his chair once again, amber eyes focused on the screen. "I'm going to send an information request to a few colleagues of mine. Hopefully they can begin searching for the information regarding this Otori. Until then, would you mind terribly if I recorded the data of this conversation on my computer?" Watari asked, a perfectly innocent question...

Blue eyes looked shrewdly at Watari for a long moment. If certain individuals caught wind of what he was about to tell this man, he certainly would be in for it. He smiled slightly baring one fang. "Why would I mind? It's not like you are the kind to betray this information, right?" The demon's eyes narrowed, something in that look promising nothing good if he was betrayed.

There was a slight raise of one of Watari's eyebrows, amber gaze focusing on Micheal for a long moment. Then, the shinigami smiled. "No one has access to this laptop, not even Enma-sama. Only the computers in this apartment, and those are inaccessible from anywhere BUT this apartment or the laptop." the blond shook his head. "So you don't have to worry about your information getting leaked... electronically or verbally." 'He's certainly secretive... though I can't blame him. Guess we've got that in common.'

The demon looked at Watari for another long moment then shrugged. "On your head be it. Ask what you will, but know that there are somethings that require something in return for answers. Or I just won't tell you." He chuckled once and seemed to collapse back on the sofa. Enough so, that the spines on his shoulders made little indentions in the material of the sofa. There was still a wariness in his eyes despite the relaxation of his body. Micheal stretched his long legs out in front of him. His shoes vanished and he wiggled his toes with a slight smile. He did rather like this human form even if it wasn't complete. He feigned a rather large yawn and waited for the questioning to start.

"A price?" Watari asked, thinking this over for a moment. "What sort of price would a demon like for certain bits of information, hmm?" It was certainly a curious reaction. The shinigami hoped it wasn't a trade of information... because there were certain things that he just wasn't ready to tell a complete stranger. "As for my first question... what are the spikes for, hmm?"
