((Inner conflict is soooo hard to write sometimes. I can't seem to explain just how much this is not him, and how hard it is for him to stoop to this level))
Masaki took a while to respond to the woman. I don't need to put up with this. No, that was a lie and he knew it. His chances of finding a teacher were slim, and after the woman's display it was probably even slimmer. She was clearly overreacting, but she had also likely told her exaggerated story to any shinobi who would listen. It wasn't like he had thrown a kunai at- Suddenly it happened, and it took Masaki a moment to clear his thoughts enough to tell what it was. He had seen a flash of the woman's hand, it almost seemed like a careless gesture, but the Kunai that lay before her was all he needed to figure it out. She was attacked. He turned quickly to see where it had come from. It was the boy from earlier. Masaki had assumed he had gotten lost, given up or just plain wasn't interested in the training. He just attacked Snowcone! Was he a traitor or what? Noone in the bar seemed to pay him any mind although there were many eyes on the young boy, including Nikko behind the counter. After snowcone's threat, which was pretty impressive, she barely seemed to pay the boy any mind. If he tried something more extreme Masaki probably wouldn't even need to move a finger. That said the boy was brave, and Masaki was doing his best to resist an outright challenge. Fighting someone with that kind of bravery would be fun! Masaki turned back to the woman. No. He wasn't ready for a fight of any kind, he was too weak. As much as his thick head wanted to ignore that fact it seemed an unavoidable fact. Stooping to one knee Masaki bowed before the woman as best he could and mumbled. "I- I am sorry. I stepped out of bounds and-" Only Luo had earned these next words, only he had earned his respect but... He really needed training. "-and I am sorry for being impolite." The words seemed to burn his throat as they came out, but he tried his best to control his voice. Lifting his head to face the woman he apologized a third time. Kinda. "I'm uhhh... not too good at this..." He failed to recognize the man beside Aoi from their mission, but his eye captured the man's face long enough for him to realize he should recognize him. One thing at a time. His body ached as he tried to restrain himself. He was not used to not being himself yet in order to get training Masaki had to be... not Masaki. His fists bunched and his teeth clenched as he waited for the woman's response. "Would you please train me. I am weak."

((By the way, this is my way of seeing if I can learn something from who ever Masaki chooses, Obviously it'll be a rare case to find a fire user in Kiri, so yeah. Oh by the way, you can't sit there and watch greg. Have some fun. smile ))

Gage gave the woman a side glance as he heard his kunai hit the table. 'Indeed...' He thought to himself as the woman merely walked over to him, spouting some words about how he wasn't from here. It was true, but he wasn't a refugee. Keeping her 'spirit', she went on about her liquor, getting the entire place involved with shouts and bottle slamming. 'Get them all involved, why don't you...' He thought as he spoke. "You all might be able to handle your liquor, but it screws with your head..." Gage looked up at the old man, who resumed his sushi making techniques. "I may have come from Iwa, but I'm not a refugee.." He stopped and smiled at the old man. 'Things are about to get ugly...'

"This one's on me..." He said before gripping the bottom of the bar with his left hand. His head was bent down onto his right hand which was propped on the bar itself. He intertwined is legs with the stool before twisting his upper torso to the left, keeping his head just below her weapon. Gage dropped his right arm and let his hand hit the table for extra force as his gaze met her's. "I'm here as a... SHINOBI!" He yelled as he let go of the table with his left and and pushed off with his right. sending his legs and the stool flying to catch up with his torso. By twisting to his left he would parry the woman's blade, twisting her arm down and extending out towards the left.

As the stool made contact, it did just that, but it barely held together long enough for Gage to complete the parry. Her blade sliced through the stool and sending wood flying in the direction where the old man who she was speaking sat.

Finishing his twist, Gage was left in mid air with his torso facing the ground. He reached out his hand and placed them on the table. Placing his weight on them he thew his body to the right, using the momentum of his twist to throw himself over the bar. He let go just as his body reached the side of 'employees only'. He slammed his feet onto the ground and stood up-right in a Mai-Thai stance.

Just as he landed, Gage heard Masaki hit his knees and began to ask for forgiveness. "You've got guts kid..." He muttered seeming some what unimpressed. "but you've still got much to learn." Gage glanced at the woman before disappearing in a blur. He appeared next to the young boy and laid a hand on his arm, pulling him up to a standing position. "If you believe what you did was right, there's no need to apologize. If this woman is going to be our teacher, we'll have to prove our worth, together. Apologizing only makes you look soft, now look alive, we've got a fight on our hands." He told the boy, releasing his arm. Gage brought his fist in front of him and ignited his flames. 'Prove your worth, don't hold back... D*** I'm sounding more like the old Iwa Gang now...' He thought to himself as his Flaming Mai-Thai took over his hands. Out of courtesy of the building, he didn't ignite his feet.

By this time, chanting could be heard, weird chanting that Gage couldn't seem to understand. Even Nikko had stopped and was sitting down on the sushi cutting table behind the bar. 'Something's not right...' Gage thought as he waited for the woman's next move.

Himura was getting annoyed at the boy's antics. His kunai and the stool had been cute enough to ignore, but when he lit his hands on fire, hinura knew it was going to far. At the rate it was going, Aoi might freeze the boy and the surrounding area, and while he enjoyed his sake chilled, himura had little desire to to drink a sake slushy, and absolutely no desire to eat Ice ramen.

"Children..." the S rank whispered to himself as he pointed two fingers in Gage's direction, a bolt of lightning exiting from the tips straight at Gage's chest. The bolt would not kill him, not even do.any harm that would hospitalize him, but it should've been enough to quiet them down enough for him to enjoy his dinner. "Hey Nikko, is it done?" He called out, not even looking at the boy probably sprawled in the dirt, twitching.

Masaki turned to the boy with a dark grin. He just had to go there didn't he? "I can't say that what I did was right, because like you I had no power to back it up with." His hands started his favorite set of seals before he stopped himself. A tree was not a great idea in the center of a bar full of roudy village people and at least more than one Jounin level shinobi. The burning fists was new though. A fire user eh? Mokuton might not be the best fit, plus he should probably leave the place in tact so doton was out. Instead he formed a much simpler seal, took a large breath and spat a large ball of water at the boy at roughly the same time the man that he did not quite recognize did an attack of his own. The two attacks would likely hit around the same time something that he had not exactly planned on. If he wants to keep on fighting then I hope he decides to bring it outside. Then I don't have to worry about paying for repairs.

As Aoi continued her drinking, she seemed to not pay attention to what Gauge was doing, deciding to take that moment to instead finish the drink she had just ordered. Standing up, she placed her money on the table as she said to Nikko, "Lunch rush is over right?" Looking around the restaurant that was filled now with nothing but shinobi on short breaks coming in and out, he nodded slowly. As her eyes darted towards the outside of the shop she looked back at him and asked, "Alley all clear until dinner?" Cleaning his knives, Nikko once more nodded slowly. His restaurant was the only place down quite a long alley, and after the lunch rush it was known that the place was closed to anyone save for shinobi to give them a chance to eat in peace and converse with each other. It was a service the retired jounin himself Nikko offered to the shinobi of Kiri.

"Gotcha," she said as she placed both hands on the bar and stood up. Sliding the money towards Nikko she added, "Thank you for the meal as always Nikko, we'll try and keep it short." At that, Aoi walked straight past Masaki towards the door, and it was clear that something in her had changed. One would have to wonder how the woman who seemed so intoxicated before had become so stern faced as she walked out, her friend who was still at the bar sighing to herself as she simply turned to watch out of the window. Aoi continued thirty feet down the alley and then turned around, facing the ramen shop as she yelled, "Alright brat. Clearly you didn't understand me the first time when I said Kiri shinobi have a bad temper, and an eye for respect. You've ruined my coming home party, trashed Nikko's shop with that chair stunt and flipping over his bar, and now you want to start a brawl in his shop? Get out NOW!"

At this point not that anyone would notice from where she stood, there were shards of ice forming in flecks on the ground around her. As a breeze shot through the alleyway towards Nikko, one could see small droplets of ice hitting the windows. What it was in fact, was the water molecules in the mist freezing around her followed by the breeze carrying them forward. The way she stood didn't denote any sort of style she was attempting to use, she simply stood with one hand on her hip and the other tapping the handle of one of her weapons. From the buildings on either side of the alley, there were very few people home who didn't shut their windows and the ones who didn't, peeked out knowing full well who someone had apparently set off. It was true however, Aoi was far from just set off. And after the week she's had, she was in no mood to let some genin from Iwa mouth off to her and go so far as to take a stance as if he were ready for a fight. Some times, a shinobi needed to be embarrassed in front of their peers to learn a lesson, and Aoi planned to do just that.

((Whoops... I misread your other post, I thought you where standing, no matter. I do believe everyone had the point.))

Feeling somewhat confident in his performance so far, Gage knew he couldn't go much longer. Although he was able to react and move like a Jonin, his mind and body hadn't had enough training for long fights. 'I can hold up a little longer. Though I thought by now, this person would surely have figured it out...' He thought to himself as he waited for the woman to respond.

Before she could however, the old man at the bar mumbled something, but Gage paid him no attention. It was then that Masaki spoke up. Hearing his words, Gage took two steps away from him. 'This kid...' He thought to himself as he saw the boys hands begin to move, then suddenly stop. Gage didn't particularly recognize the formation of the hand signs. "Kid... You don't understand do you..." He said squatting down, placing his forearms on his lap and letting his fiery hands hang down. Gage watched the boy as he did a simple hand sign. 'He really doesn't understand...' He thought to himself as a water ball formed in front of the boy. Gage stretched out his left arm and grabbed the ball of water, completely extinguishing it as well as the fire on his hands. "You see Masaki..." Gage said as he let the fire in his right hand go out. He heard a zap and a bang just then, but ignored it momentarily. "Just because water beats fire, doesn't mean that'll effect me as much as you think." He said as he stood up and looked around. He didn't really know what the noises where, but they where probably jutsus aimed at him. "Lady Luck is smiling..." He mumbled to himself as he looked towards the woman once more.

She seemed a bit unimpressed with his actions and instead starting talking to Nikko, who seemed to be interested in this 'battle' if you would call it that.
The woman had a quick exchange of words with Nikko, completely ignoring Gage's actions, then walked outside. Gage gave Nikko a side glance and the old man just simply laughed and returned to his work.

"Odd..." Gage mumbled as he stood there wondering what was going on. His questions where put to rest when the woman screamed from outside of the Ramen Shop. 'Seriously... She still doesn't get it.' He thought as he looked out the window.

"What?!" He exclaimed out loud. He literately watched the window as it began to slowly freeze as ice pellets began to make a tattering noise as they bombarded the window. 'This can't be good...' Gage thought as he formed several simple hand signs. "Fire Style: Fire Clone Jutsu" He mumbled as a flame erupted near him. A Fire clone appeared as Gage quickly reached for a kunai in his ninja tools bag. He pulled it out then looked at Masaki. "If she's going to be our teacher, she has to impress me. I already know I won't be learning any fire style from her..." He said before walking behind his clone. Both he and his clone began flowing through simple hand signs. "Transformation Jutsu..." Gage mumbled before a large cloud of smoke filled the room. As it cleared, it would seem as the jutsu failed, but in actuality it was slight details that had been changed on Gage's body. Instead of doing a full transformation, he simply rearranged his clothing using the transformation jutsu. His usual left leg strap would be on his right leg and so forth. A move that would simply leave most people thinking he was stupid, but none the less it would serve it's purpose. Gage nodded to his clone and they both walked towards the exit.

Gage's plan was rather simple. The woman was intoxicated, if she was able to withstand the liquor she had been drinking, she would of noticed that Gage was left handed and would attack his clone. The perfect strategy so far.

As he and his clone reached the exit. They both kept walking straight, ignoring the woman momentarily. "I trashed your party? Sorry, but according to Luo-Sama order's and Masaki's choosing, we're your welcome home comity" The clone began speaking as the pair turned to face Aoi. The clone would be to her right and Gage to her left.

"I'll be paying for the repairs as well as making a new stool for Nikko, that's no problem. What seems to be the problem is that you still haven't caught on." Gage picked up this time as the two began to walk slowly forward, away from the door to the shop before stopping. "You see, by now, I thought you would have noticed I was testing you. You say Kiri Shinobi are renowned for their sake. That may be true, but under the influence, everyone is the same. There perception of words veers off with every sip. I've been dropping hints since this started and you've shown no signs of even the slightest understanding of what I was saying. You see, I already know that finding someone here to train me in Katon Jutsu is near impossible, but under Luo-Sama's orders, I must train with Masaki and Masaki must choose our trainer. Simply put, I'm trying to find out if I can learn something from you." The clone picked up and finished speaking, leaving the alley in a deadly silence. Gage didn't know how the woman would react, but he would try his best to counter accordingly

'Crap...' Gage's thoughts veered elsewhere as the winds began to pick up. 'These winds are different then usual. They're chillier. What am I in for?...'

Masaki was far from unphased from the way the boy blocked his attack. As he left the building to challenge Aoi Masaki payed little effort in hiding his grin. That was an interesting jutsu. He finally realized who the other man was, which while interesting didn't compete with the promise of a fight. Rather he turned to the man and quickly said "I'd like to know more about that snake kid later if you get a chance" then turned to chase his opponent into the stret, but stopped in the doorway as it dawned on him that Aoi was fighting as well. He froze, staring at her through the doorway as his mind waged war. She was fighting, and her ice was incredibly interesting to Masaki. The other boy didn't stand a chance against her. But Masaki needed her to train him. But there was a fight going on. But he was weak and now he had a goal. He would fight that snake kid on even ground, beat him, and show him what true strength was. The other man was a raiton user, which would be useless to him while the woman knew suiton which at least meant she could teach him something. Perhaps Masaki could even learn to use ice! But the fight!! He bit his lip so hard it drew a touch of blood. What the hell was he supposed to do? This whole scene made absolutely no sense. He had no idea to handle this because he had never had anything to lose before, certainly nothing to look forward other than the vague concept of strength!

By the time Duo had said 'Luo-Sama," in her mind all talking was done. She forced one simple seal, something to further speed up the process of what was going to happen. As the kid spoke, mist began to roll into the alley, a mist that was thick indeed. For one reason or another, the boy found it clever to switch which side his thigh holster was on with a henge. It wouldn't be something difficult to figure out, but as from is perspective she would exit from view, she at last said something. "No." Her voice was grim, laced with venom. The boy was irrational, and headstrong to think that he had something to teach the woman about 'understanding' when he himself didn't seem to understand her the first time she spoke when she mentioned respect. By the time Masaki had apologized, she was ready and willing to teach the boy until necessary. However, the kid Masaki was now attached to had completely missed her first lesson if there were ever to be one that followed. Her first lesson was in respect period; if all Kiri-shinobi revered it, she had assumed the kid would understand that there was something to say for the respect of a teacher, current or potential. Instead of showing his prospective teacher anything of the sort, he forced her to show him just what happened when a student disobeyed a higher ranking officer within the ranks of Kirigakure's shinobi.

"You do not understand. Furthermore, your perception of my words has been skewed since the moment you opened your mouth." By this time Aoi was invisible to the genin and his clone, hidden completely by the mist she herself had created. Her voice seemed distant and odd, as if the mist aided to throw off from where her voice truly came from. "You do not get to refer to the Lord Mizukage with such honorifics. He is the Lord Mizukage, or Mizukage-sensei to you. And if you are expecting anyone to train you with that piss poor attitude of yours and your like of respect, I'm afraid you'll find no trainer here for you. The Mizukage asked Masaki to find a sensei, he did not specify who and clearly knew it was up to that person to agree, otherwise he would have sent a letter himself. That means smart mouth, that someone has to actually say yes, something you have made it difficult for anyone to do." At that moment, Aoi unleashed a kunai from the mist aimed straight at the opponent on her right dead center of his forehead.

Now one would have to wonder how Aoi knew which one was the clone and in fact that her dangerous attack would not possibly kill a genin. You see, although Duo had used a henge to switch his thigh holsters location, he had done so after creating an ember clone. What this resulted in, was a clone with the holster in the original position, and Duo whose holster had moved to the other side. Has he performed the jutsu in reverse order, perhaps he would have been able to use whatever advantage he sought to create. However, outsmarting a jounin with something so simple was a fruitless effort and a waste of chakra. As the kunai sped through the air and exited the mist three feet in front of the clone, Aoi watched with her perfect mist vision the clone's eyes widen as it was struck before being given the chance to move. As deduced from Duo's flaming lips, Aoi had calculated that the boy's clone was a Katon user before he had stated it, and that his clone was most likely in that case an ember clone. Such clones were dangerous in one way, and that was the surprising explosion akin to an explosive tag that erupted after being destroyed, something Aoi had ran into unfortunately more than once in her career. She had calculated that Duo was close enough to the clone that the explosion would affect him greatly, and so nothing more was needed than to eliminate to clone to injure him.

The moment the clone exploded, Aoi released another kunai off to her left this time off to Duo's right side. Her intent was simple: cut off the enemy's movement. There was only two ways Duo was moving, and each was involved veering away from the explosion rather than towards it for further damage. He would either jump back and towards his right so that he was closer to the ramen shop, or he would rush forward towards his right to get closer to Aoi and away from the ensuing explosion still. Either way, he was either going to be burned by his own clone, or impaled by a kunai. If it weren't for the mist, she gathered he might have had an easier chance dodging the kunai that was to come. However, based on the immediate need for him to react to the explosion and move, during such a movement the kunai would be albeit difficult for even a chuunin to avoid under such conditions.

Jutsu Used: Kirigakure no Jutsu (Hidden Mist Technique)
Description: A highly effective cover technique which blankets an area in a thick mist, confusing the senses of the enemy. Unless the user is trained to fight without the use of his vision, or has learned the technique to see through the mist, this doesn't not provide a significant combat advantage. The mist swirls about, confusing vision and distorting sound. Visibility is cut down to three feet. The mist lasts for 3 posts, plus an additional post for every 10 points in Reserves the user has. It is important to note that this mist is non-natural, and obstructs the view of even those using low level techniques (stage 3 or lower) to attempt to see through it.

Not only that, but please keep up with your chakra points and be sure to incur any penalties or bonuses that your shinobi profession/types would give that you chose. Now, the only current fire clone you could know would be the Ember Clone based on the fact that the D-rank versions were recently replaced and everyone was given the C-rank equivalents. So this is the jutsu you used which is why my post mentions an explosion. So be sure to list your chakra points and take out the cost of a C-rank jutsu with any penalties/bonuses you may have.))

Gage's hunch was right, something was wrong with the weather. The rather clear mist, which was actually starting to become unnoticeable, thickened once more. 'Mist-Nin...' Gage thought to himself as he took a ready stance. He whirled his body around one hundred and eighty degrees in order to have both directions covered, his clone facing one way and himself the other. "This d**m mist..." He muttered to himself as his eyes darted this way and that way. The voice of the woman, who had disappeared moments ago, rang out through the mist. 'I can't even get a sense of direction in this mist...' He thought to himself, the mist began to irritate him. 'Wait... I'm still a Stone-Nin... If there's anything I've learned, it's to keep a cool head; like a stone...' Gage wasn't only using his thoughts for the fight at hand, but for the entire series of events that led up to this battle. Why would he even have the guts to challenge a ninja he'd never met before and who was obviously a lot stronger. Just the thought of it was completely absurd, but Gage was running on pure emotion right now... Something that could prove fatal in the end.

It was then Gage was taken out of his emotional torment and pulled back into the real world just in time to catch the last bit of the woman's words. "...he did not specify who and clearly knew it was up to that person to agree, otherwise he would have sent a letter himself. That means smart mouth, that someone has to actually say yes, something you have made it difficult for anyone to do." The words stung deep into Gage's heart, although they where made to quell the rage that had unknowingly come over Gage, it simply fueled the fire. "You... Would... Never... Understand..." He said, pausing after every word, giving strong emphasis on his growing rage. The thought of his old friends hit him then, followed by a knot inside his stomach. 'Not now...' He thought to himself as a kunai emerged from the mist, fortunate for Gage it wasn't aimed at him, but at the clone.

Only one thought flashed through Gage's head as he squatted low in a running stance. 'Never give your position away...'

The kunai would make impact with the clone and after a delayed reaction, would explode. Gage knew the cost of being so close to the clone, but he'd use it to his advantage. As the clone exploded, Gage's passive chakra shield tried to buffet some of the damage, but not enough to stop him from being thrown away from the blast. However, by noticing the kunai before it made the clone explode, gave Gage a few seconds time to align his body in an angle that would throw him head long in the direction where the kunai came from. The fight had just begun.

Wincing from the sudden surge of pain in his back, Gage was thrown forward through the mist in the direction the kunai was thrown from. The stance Gage had chosen before the explosion was the only stance that would allow him complete control of his body, despite the blast's strength. 'Your mine...' He thought to himself as he traveled through the air.

"Uuck.." He mumbled as something struck his left shoulder, probably a kunai that was meant to limit his movements; typical jonin move, but it would bring no hindrance to Gage as Aoi came into view. Gage was flying off to the left of the woman's body, but he was close enough to see her current position as he passed. At that moment, Gage wished he had time to see the woman's expression. More then likely, it would be priceless. 'The name of the game is sacrifice...' He thought as he twisted his body in another semi-circle spin. Using an attack as a catalysis for a counter attack wasn't unheard of, but it wasn't something a normal Genin could perform, but Gage was far from normal...

Throwing as much of his weight downwards as possible, Gage landed in a squatting position, his body ached and screamed for mercy, though he gave it none. There was no time to lick his wounds, he had to react. Moving quickly, Gage reached for a kunai from his tool pouch and was on his feet in two seconds flat. It took him no time at all to have the kunai's point at the back of the woman's neck, a position that was currently in his favor.

'I'm almost done in...' He thought to himself, not knowing the full extent of his injuries. His body was literately covered in wounds now, taking a good portion of the blast's fire power, Gage's back was bear and bleeding quite badly, his chakra shield had saved him from some of the third-degree burns, but there was going to be a few second-degree burns here and there. The kunai, literately numbed by the more horrific pain on his back, shot up out of Gage's shoulder like a puppet string's hook. It was a real sad sight to see, but somehow he had managed to stand. There was no way he would have been able to withstand such an attack without something driving him, but what?

To be honest, several things drove the boy onward. He was nearing the point of insanity. The words 'Yes & No' rang constantly through his mind, as if they where battling each other. The word 'No' was something Gage had heard a lot of lately. No to this, and no to that. It was as if he was getting denied to pursue his dreams. On the other hand, the word 'yes' was something he heard after proving his worth, which usually meant driving himself to the brink of insanity to gain approval of those around him. Yet that wasn't it.

Yesterday, Gage had learned to never give up, no matter the odds. Even though he may have been wrong for testing the woman's worth, extending it to this very fight, Gage saw this as another lesson to make up for the easy one he had miserably failed at the day before. Mix that with a little emotional turmoil and you get a formula for disaster, which was going on at this very moment.

After a few seconds of holding the kunai to the woman's neck, he spat on the ground. A mixture of saliva and blood left his lips and hit the ground without much noise. "Yes..." He began, letting the 's' sound come out with a slither. "You know nothing of the word to me... I've never heard that word by begging for something. I don't know what you teach your Genin here, but in Iwagakure, respect is earned not given and right now I have no desire to give my respect to someone who doesn't know what the word Yes has to do with me." The boy spoke through clenched teeth, half ready to just stab the woman in the neck, but instead he continued. "You have no idea what it's like to be denied for everything you aspire to do. You don't know what I've went through to hear the reassuring word 'yes'. It isn't a word I take lightly. When someone tells me yes, it's because I've proven my worth, not because I've begged them to help me. What you made that boy do was pathetic. If all Mist Shinobi are like you, then I have nothing to learn from the lot of you..." The boy's clenched teeth turned into a closed mouth as he fought back the tears, something that was growing harder by each passing second as he continued. "I am sick and tired of being reduced to literately nothing simply because I am underestimated due to my rank. You wouldn't understand how hard it is to watch as squad after squad that you where in disappear without a trace and your the only one left. Without a squad, I've been stuck a Genin for three whole years..." The tears where flowing now. "After the attacks on my Village, that I wasn't even there to help defend, I was left with no other choice, but to find another village. I've followed my heart every step, trying desperately to hold onto my dreams, but only to watch them be shattered and rearranged with every step." By this time, Gage had sustained more then enough blood loss to leave him bed-ridden for days, yet his still managed to stand. A pool of blood was spreading at his feet, traveling outward in all directions, inching it's closer to the woman's feet till she could feel an unknown watery substance beneath her feet, though the substance would be obviously thicker then the muddy grounds that she was used to treading.

"Do you think I want to be in this situation? Do you think I want to be teamed with this kid, with whom I have no common grounds, for training? I have no choice in this situation, but I do have a right to test your worth..." He told the woman, more then likely opening her eyes to the truth. "As it stands, I'm almost convinced that there's nothing I can learn from you, but there's that one percent that is driving me forward. If anything... I'll learn to never give up, even when you have to make sacrifices to secure victory or die to obtain it." The last of his words came out a bit slurred as his body was almost completely drained of blood by now. His usual dark completion was replaced by a paler, weaker teen. If one hadn't seen the fight that lead up to his condition, they would more then likely mistake him for a diseased citizen, but the blood that slowly flowed from body gave way to other thoughts.

Gage had no specific reason for telling the woman most of his life. Maybe it was the hallucinations he was beginning to see, or the voices in his head that he began to hear. The boy's body began to sway back and forth, but the kunai remained trained on the woman's neck; unwavering.

The boy was caked in blood. Layers upon layers of blood covered his near lifeless body as he swayed back and forth, barely conscious, trying to stay alert to make sure the woman didn't escape him again...

Katon: Bounetsu no Jutsu (Fire Release: Flame-Resistance Technique)
Rank: D
Passive
Description: This is a passive jutsu that is the first in two steps to protect the user from damaging themselves with their very own Katons. Although not necessarily mandatory to learn the finer points of the tree, it does provide a buffer against self-inflicting injuries. For example the user is able to withstand increasing amounts of heat and can even withstand certain techniques aimed at them. Withstand, however, does not translate into invulnerability as there are general flaws to this jutsu as well.

((OOC: There, that should properly portray his emotions. Sorry Hik, but you won't have much to post since you can't see past the mist. Also, if your behind me and my clone, it is quite possible that you've been hit by the blast as well, just a heads up on that.

@Luo: I just used my reaction time to pull of that move. Obviously I'm going to spend quite some time in the Hospital, so it looks like Masaki will be getting some training while (hopefully) Gage gets some time in the Hospital to reflect on his small victory-ish-thing-whatever-you-wanna-call-it and what not. This was the only possible outcome I could think of, so I hope I don't have to do any editing this time. >.< ))

------------------------------

((Luo I'll leave this fairly open ended in case you stop him before he gets behind you or otherwise dodge.))
Masaki saw nothing of the fight after the mist spread, he had learned to see fairly well in the natural mist of Kiri, but while he heard some shinobi could see even through this jutsu he could not. An explosion and a kunai, no two kunai. His mind calmed slightly, but the internal battle was not finished. This boy had conviction that surpassed Masaki's own, the one thing Masaki had going for him in the academy and even that was overshadowed by those around him. He had remained out of reach of the orphanage even though they promised him food. He pushed through his classes, and never stopped attending even though he constantly had to skip to keep from starving. He had taken jobs in the market, labor which he was far too weak for but he did it anyways. He wasn't weak anymore. He knew how to fend for himself. His hardships were all he had to rely on. Luo's brutal training which almost cost Masaki his life more than once, and forced his Mokuton ability into the open. He wasn't weak anymore... But still it seemed everyone was stronger, and now he even found someone stupider and more stubborn than himself. He half leaned half fell against the wall and slid into a seated position just outside of the doorway.

“Total defeat” he frowned as he said it, and stared hard into the thick mist as if he could see what occurred inside it. Fists balled he hit the ground hard a couple times. His dilemna had not changed. He was sitting out on a fight which could prove to make him stronger. If he jumped in he could learn valuable lessons about being a shinobi, but if he didn't he would probably assure further training.

Pushing off of his fists he began to stand back up, his mind already half made up, but a large hand grabbed his shoulder. “You have no place in that fight. I can see you want to join but it is not for you.” Masaki turned his face to see a middle aged, heavily scarred face. The remains of a large burn spread across his right cheeck and one of his eyes was covered in a thick cloth, but from the nearby scars Masaki could tell that there was no longer anything behind it. “Sit back down and watch.” He mumbled. “It won't be much longer now. The boy will lose, but it is his lesson not yours. Besides, if you force that woman to continue fighting she might not be so tactful. You might not come back in tact, surely alive she wouldn't kill ya but you might be useless as a shinobi.” Masaki growled and remained standing, but didn't step in. He had never let the idea of death or crippling stop him before why were his feet rooted to the floor? It finally dawned on him. He couldn't stand a chance in this fight. Not only was he outranked but all these things bearing on his mind would prove his undoing. What use was he if he couldn't put his everything into his attacks? If he was afraid of being hit by Aoi's attacks?

Pride Of The Mist

Walking down the alleyway, Luo stared up at the sky above in thanks for this impromptu break from his office. As he got closer to Nikko's however, he could hear shouting from a boy, a young boy whom he'd spoken to only earlier in his day. He looked battered and bruised, and he could see Masaki slumped in front of Nikko's as the other shinobi patrons stared out towards the alley. Aoi however was unscathed, something Luo wasn't very surprised about. What he was surprised about, was Aoi allowing the boy to flank her within what he could tell was unnatural mist, the corners of his eyes glancing wisps of what the woman had created.
She muttered something to the boy with her back turned to Luo as he attempted to sneak up, something Luo made out as simply 'Baka.' Gauge was lucky the woman didn't simply distill the air around her with fuuton and throw him down the alley, however Luo wondered what her ploy was. That was, until she spoke.

From the fact that she stated how long she wondered it would take Luo to get there, it was obvious she knew the ruckus was going to force Luo out of his office. Surely a restaurant full of shinobi watching whatever had happened before this sent a message out to get Luo down there to talk sense into both of them, and yet Luo could tell that Aoi more than likely in her twisted way was still in the right. It was the boy's insult to Kiri shinobi that caused Luo's voice to ring out, his figure appearing through the mist behind the pair. In the alley, the man's muted tones carried heavily and it was clear that he wasn't pleased. The only question was, just what was it about this situation that irked him the most?

"If you have nothing to learn from the lot of us Gauge Urashimi of Iwagakure, you are more than welcome to leave my village and its shinobi alone. A friendly match I can tolerate, insulting my shinobi and my village I cannot." Stab Luo, torture the man, abandon him in the forests of Konoha with one senbon and his wits; do that and he could find solace within the confines of his mind. Insult his people or his home, the village he signed in blood to protect, and a sleeping dragon would awake. The restaurant's patrons stood instantly, greeting the man in silence as he began. Today in particular was simply not a day Luo had any patience left, especially for incompetence. "Civil disobedience, reckless endangerment, intent to kill a kiri shinobi, disobeying a superior officer, and threatening public's safety. Five charges with which I could arrest you for and have you serve time for twice as many years as offenses you've made. For a displaced shinobi you certainly know how to make life even more difficult for yourself. This is not Iwagakure, this is the Village Hidden in the Mist. Respect is not earned by idle and empty threats made by incapable individuals, it is given and just as readily returned. A shinobi who does not know respect does not know comradery, and a shinobi who does not know comradery does not know strength. You are not underestimated by your rank, you are underestimated by your presentation, one that is truly and utterly lacking. Your definition of rights Urashimi is sorely misplaced I'm afraid, and just as well your own worth has clearly been tested in front of most of the shinobi of Kirigakure. You defeated yourself today Gauge Urashimi. You did it with your words, your actions, and your misplaced sense of self-righteousness."

This mist began to clear, something Luo was sure Aoi did herself. There Luo Ushio stood, proud, unyielding, and mentally infuriated. Had he been another man, he would've killed the boy where he stood as an example. However, this was not who Luo was, not by a long shot. Looking at Masaki as he approached the shop with nothing more to say to the boy he muttered, "Take him to the hospital, and pray he never mentions my village in distaste again. Otherwise, he'll be hard pressed to find a corner of this village yet another Kiri-nin won't be waiting to slit his throat." What Luo said sounded as if he himself had issued a death threat, however it was the opposite. It was a word of caution spoken aloud to the boy now behind him. Kiri-nin were a proud bunch, as any shinobi in their own village would be. Should Gauge have another slip of the tongue without Luo's intervention, the boy could very well be killed as portrayed by his current state of being. He was not going to reprimand Aoi in front of him either, deciding she deserved at the most that much despite how badly she seemed to have maimed the boy.

Walking into Nikko's, he muttered something inaudible to Nikko himself who began to prepare sushi instantly. As he stood waiting, Luo couldn't get the last sentence the boy said out of his head, swinging around to look at him from down the alley as Aoi walked off more than likely towards his office to await whatever Luo had to say. "You say there is nothing you can learn from that woman, however your naivety has shrouded your sense of what knowledge is. Bonbu mo satoréba hotoké nari; Even a common man by obtaining knowledge becomes a buddha." Turning around to greet Nikko's smile, Luo dropped money on the counter and nodded before sitting down himself at the bar which was in some minor disarray most likely due in part to the scuffle that preceded his appearance. He ordered for Sora as well despite him not mentioning being hungry, and waited patiently until Nikko placed two trays of sushi next to each other in front of Luo and where Sora was to sit, a third order in a bento box with an apple on top placed off to the side for Matsuya. Breathing in with his eyes closed, he exhaled for twenty seconds as the restaurant slowly began to fill with the chatter of shinobi. He had said his piece, and the moment of frustration had passed. Time would only tell however just what went through Gauge's mind at the time.

((Kinda skipping my turn here, but it seems important. I am rather pleased to find that Masaki is developing, even if I'm not showing it clearly.))
Masaki barely even noticed the change at first, didn't hear most of Luo's speech nor notice that the everyone in the building was standing behind Masaki in a respectful silence. Which made it all the more surprising when he realized Luo was speaking to him. Although all things considered it wasn't surprising that the Kage had shown up to the part, Masaki wasn't one for such considerations, especially now of all times. He stood dumbfounded for several moments, as his mind attempted to put things in order. Bring him... the dude... the one who was fighting Aoi...to the hospital Had he been wounded? Of course he was he fought a Jounin... Masaki's mind was grasping at something, an idea that was almost but not quite reaching him. His pale cool face which drained of blood was caught in an almost comical expression of confusion. Masaki was no longer Masaki and his mind was already fumbling with that concept, but eventually the thought made it through his thick skull. I'm... not getting training. He quickly turned and stammered a pitiful "but doesn't that..." but Luo was already at a table waiting for his food. Masaki wasn't stupid. Although thick headed and stubborn he wasn't used to this level of confusion. Very little made sense anymore. He turned and walked as if dazed into the haze, until he could see the image of Gage. Without saying a word he grabbed his arm shakily to guide him towards the village hospital.

"Lord Mizukage, allow me." Himura remarked as Luo instructed Masaki to take the boy to the hospital, just having finished the last of his sake. "This kid's had a rough time, he could use a break." Himura wasn't especially keen to stay and explain to the lord mizukage why he hadn't simply knocked the boy out when the fight had started; after all, if there had been anyone who could put theboy down quickly before Luo had arrived, it was Hatake Himura. But this boy had directly insulted both the village and Aoi, and he was not one to get in the way of aoi's personal bout. Besides, he had spent a good part of the day in Luo's office filing his clan's tax returns already, battle politics was the last thing he wanted to deal with.

After getting through three pieces of sushi, Luo heard a familiar voice down the bar area. Turning to meet the man's gaze Luo nodded muttering, "Good afternoon Hatake Himura." In the man's fit of rage, he hadn't bothered to look around the restaurant at just who was there. Normally, his request would have been denied almost as quickly as it had been proposed. Luo had instructed Gage and Masaki to basically be joined at the hip until they found an instructor and trained. It was clear they had not found an instructor and as such, Luo didn't see the task as complete. However, the level of respect Luo had for his elders coupled with the respect he held for mutual clan heads forced his hand in the matter, especially when the request came from Himura.

It would take Luo a moment after he finished his first role and a sip of water to answer, a long sigh escaping his lips as he waved his right hand limply as if to shoo something away. "As you wish Hatake" was all Luo could stomach to say in response as he added, "Tell Masaki to come here if you don't mind." Continuing his lunch, Luo sat in silence after giving a nod towards Himura. All he wanted was for his day to go relatively smoothly. Did it happen? Of course not. However, Luo digressed as he ate the food he should've had three hours ago, noting his dinner was probably going to run three hours late as well.

"At once, Lord Mizukage." Himura uttered as he took his leave, payment sitting in his now empty ramen bowl. As the man approached the white haired boy, he put a hand on his shoulder, saying "Lord Mizukage would like to see you. Keep your answers short and smart, and don't make any unnecessary requests." Himura thought the advice prudent, given the Luo's state of mind at the moment. It was rare for the boy (to a middle aged man like Himura, practically every other shinobi in the village was a boy) to become angered, but it was obvious that if he wasn't already, the smallest upset would send him into a rage. Himura too Gage from Masaki's grasp, slung the child over his shoulders, and made his way to the hospital.
