Upon hearing someone walking near her, she abruptly quit playing. Serika wasn't a fan of people sneaking around, whether intentional or not. Her eyes narrowed and she listened to see if anyone was coming closer to her. Feeling a bit "safer" she went back to playing. Like usual, the melody was different from the first time, but there was still the same sense of passion put into it.

She decided that as pleasant as the music hall was, more and more people were coming. She realized that she more than likely wouldn't be able to hide from everyone the rest of her stay here, but she would be damned if one of them tried to talk nice with her. Deciding there would be better places for her to hide in the northern courtyard, she silently made her way from the building. Her blue marked body made it easy for people to see her, but that didn't mean she had to act like they were there.

Yrael stood and shook his head. "I'm sorry, I must leave. He's coming..." The boy grabbed his violin case and ran out of the building, nearly running into a girl with blue markings on her body. He tripped and fell, but in an attempt to keep his violin unscathed, he turned and landed on his back, hitting his head on the concrete.

"Ah..." he muttered, his vision going out for a moment. He groaned, his head still pounding angrily, as if it had a pulse of its own.

Yrael! I want out now! It's my turn to play!

"No," he mumled. "Not now, Kibeth..."

He rolled to his side and attempted to stand, but only fell back to the ground. "Crap..."

As Rachel finished her song, she opened her eyes to see Yrael as he was taking his spill onto the floor. Blinking in surprise, she stood up from her seat, taking her potted fern with her, and made her way over to him.

"Hey," she called out in a voice just loud enough for him to hear as she walked over. "Are you all right?"

As she reached his side, she knelt down beside him, wondering what exactly was wrong and whether there was anything she should do to help out. It wasn't like she had healing powers or anything, but at least she could help prop him back up or something.

Yrael snapped back to his senses. "Ah...Yeah, I'm fine," he mumbled. He looked up at her. His eyes were gray, tinted with red around the pupil. "Sorry..."

He looked at the girl. "I'm Yrael," he said softly. He didn't have very good people skills. The boy clutched his violin to his side. "Don't worry about me. Ki--ah, I just felt sick."

He didn't want her to think of him as weird. What would the girl say if he told her he had split personality? Yrael looked away from her, a blush growing across his cheek.

Rachel rolled her eyes a little at this. It was happening again already, and she'd barely even talked to this boy. Stupid superhero grade beauty. Sure would be nice to be able to turn that off once in a while. All the same, she stood up, offering a hand to help him up off the ground.

"If you say so," she said rather nonchalantly, trying to keep an air of cool about her. "My name's Rachel."

"It's not what you think. You'd think I was crazy if I told you why I'm blushing," Yrael said, calming down a little, his personality returning. "I'm sorry for your trouble..."

He took her hand and stood, brushing off his pants. It was still odd that he wore his old St. Michel's uniform. He hadn't ordered the new school one. The blush began disappating.

"It's nice to meet you, Miss Rachel," he said. He held his head a little. "Ugh...sorry..."

Yrael. Please? You have no frickin people skills! So let me talk to her!

"Shut up, Kibeth," he mumbled beneath his breath.

Right... Rachel thought to herself, still with a half-amused smirk on her face. That's what they all say. She quirked an eyebrow at Yrael, wondering if he was really going to be okay, but decided to let it go for the moment. "Well, if you say so..."

Leaning over, she took a look at the violin case he was carrying. "Violin, huh? How long have you been playing?" She'd always wanted to play a duet with someone sometime, just to see how it would sound. Nobody else back home really played any instruments - her father and brother both sang, but she was never interested in vocal accompaniment from either of them, especially since it usually just devolved into a bizarre competition of vocal oneupsmanship between father and son.

"Know any classical?" she asked, shaking her childhood memories from her head for the time being.

Yrael brushed his blue-gray hair away from his face. "A few. Back at St. Michel's, I was the top violinist," he said, shrugging. "But there were only a few around."

He picked up his violin case and dusted it off. "It's old. My mother gave it to me before she died. My sister and my girlfriend...well, my ex-girlfriend managed to save up enough to transfer me out of St. Michel's," he said. His fingers brushed over the brown St. Michel's patch as he flicked off some dust carelessly. "I've been playing ever since I was a kid. My mother enjoyed the sound of a voilin, so that's what I played. Then my father and sister enjoyed the piano, so I began that too."

Yrael shook his head, the red around his pupils spreading through the rest of the iris, like veins almost--ruby red, yet still pretty in their own way. He put his hand on his face for a moment, covering the scar that ran across his nose bridge from cheek to cheek. He remained like that for a moment before lifting his head up.

"Sorry about that. Kibeth wanted to say something to me," he said quietly. "I apologize if I'm not as responsive as I probably should be."

A small smirk formed on his lips. "Well, would you like to know what's bothering me?" Yrael asked. "If that's it, then I'll tell you. I have a split personality--he's trying to wake up. Kibeth is his name."

He shrugged and sat down on a nearby bench, pulling out his violin. He rested it on his shoulder again and closed his eyes for a moment before beginning to play The Devil's Trill once more. It sounded slightly different from the first time, however, but it mattered not to Yrael.

Rachel nodded at Yrael, smiling approvingly at his credentials as a musician. Maybe he would be fun to play some duets with. There were plenty of classical songs, especially from operas, that featured both pianos and violins prominently. Perhaps she'd try asking him about it.

And that was when he made the comment about having a split personality. She raised her eyebrows in surprise, not having expected something like that to come out so suddenly. Also, it was odd that he was aware of his alternate persona - in Rachel's experience, people with dissociative identity disorder were very rarely aware of their condition unless they were actively undergoing some form of therapy.

Looks like I've found an interesting one here, she mused to herself. Oh well, he seems normal enough otherwise, and at least he hasn't hit on me yet.

"Well... I hadn't expected something like that..." she said finally, shrugging her shoulders as she admitted her surprise. Waving it off, she admired the violin as he took it out of its case. The craftsmanship was very good - it was clear that this particular instrument had seen many years, and the sound as he drew the bow across the strings only seemed to punctuate this fact.

"So... what do you say to a duet?" she asked as he finished his song, gesturing over toward the piano. "I've always wanted to try playing along with someone else."

Yrael stopped his song and looked up at her. His face remained blank. "Sure," he said. Rachel was pretty, and she seemed nice. Fortunately for him, he wasn't really interested in anyone right now. No matter how pretty they were. After Ryelle had left him...

"Do you want to do a violin duet or would you rather I play the piano?" he asked. He grimaced a little, from Kibeth as the ego within him chatterd to him angrily.

Rachel smiled, waving her hand. "No, I don't really play anything but the piano. I was hoping you'd keep playing your violin there and I could accompany you." Thinking to herself for a moment, she tried to think of a good song that the two of them could try together.

Several seconds later, a smile appeared on her face as she came up with something. "How about Concerto in D Minor by Felix Mendelssohn? That's a good piece for just a piano and a violin. Want to give it a try?"

"If you wish it, Miss Rachel," he said. He went over to the piano and held his violin at ready. His mind raced until he found the right one to play.

He brought the bow across the string. "Okay..."

((OOC: I don't know that. 0_o;; Sorry, I'm musically challenged in everything but drumline))

((I don't know it either. I just looked on wikipedia for a while until I found something with both piano and violin. Huzzah for Internet!))

"All right then, let's give it a try," she said as she headed over to the piano and sat down, cracking her knuckles before placing her hands above the keys. Taking a deep breath and nodding to herself, she looked back over to Yrael, nodding again just briefly before starting in on the opening piano chords.
