Haucon's heart lifted slightly when her small hand was laid on top of his. He felt a small smile come to his lips briefly and listened intently to her advice. He laughed a little. "It's not often that I find myself in this position." he admitted aloud, "It's rare that I'm afraid, but I agree, I certainly feel safer now that I would without you. Thank you for accompanying me to escort Moira home, and thank you for giving me a safe haven in your shop earlier." he said with a smile in his voice.

triggerperfect,
Aidan enjoyed the small laugh she heard Haucon give. It made her happy to know that he wasn't frightened so badly that he couldn't laugh. Experimentally, she left her hand where it was, enjoying the warmth it provided. There was a smile in her voice when she answered, "Most people never find themselves in this situation, and I'm glad that I could provide some comfort at a time like this." The smile in her voice, was mirrored on her face. "Besides, one of the reasons I came with you was a selfish one. I enjoy spending time with you." Her voice was quiet, but hinted to playfulness.

Haucon practically beamed and was glad for the dark now as it partially hid his blush. He was surprised by how often he seemed to be doing that lately. He gave Aidan's waist a gentle squeeze, almost like a hug and said "I'm glad you enjoyed the day, which is a huge compliment given it's rather rough start." he said gesturing to her hand.

triggerperfect,
Leaning back against Haucon's chest a little, Aidan smiled. She held up her injured hand, looking at it in the evening light. It wasn't very hard for her to pick out features in the darkness, so she could see that the thin fingers were slightly less swollen than they had been before. She laughed a little, "In all the excitement, I had forgotten about it." Now that she was thinking about it, the small elf noticed the dull throbbing in her hand, and winced slightly. "It is kind of funny, " She commented, referring to their first encounter. "That sort of stuff seems to happen to me a lot, now that I think about it. Maybe that's why I generally stay out of the main city..." Aidan said thoughtfully, connecting several similar events in her mind.

Haucon smiled to himself as he felt Aidan relax against him even more. Several strange feelings were flooding through his head today. He made a mental note to catalog them later that night, or perhaps the next day as he went about the chores in the stable, in the meantime he would just enjoy the gentle background drone of emotion.
"I'm sorry that this isn't an uncommon occurrence for you. I've never had a problem like that 'cause, well since I was about 14 I've been on average one of the tallest people present in most situations. Makes it easier for people to take note. Perhaps we could get you some stilts." he said with a gentle laugh.

triggerperfect,
Aidan continued to look at her hand, wondering absently how long before she would be able to use it again. As Haucon spoke, she could feel the rumble of his voice deep in his chest, through her back. She enjoyed the calming effect this had over her and answered softly, "I used to think I was a normal height, because my mother is barely taller than I am. But then, when I moved to the city I seemed to shrink a foot and a half in comparison to most of the people there." She blinked, her black eyes shining in the filtered light from overhead. Reaching up, she fluidly pushed several curly locks of russet hair out of her face and behind one pointed ear. "I think I'd be too afraid of falling off, if I were to try and walk on stilts." She laughed, trying to imagine herself on a pair.

Haucon nodded solemnly at her comment about falling. "Well, we'd make sure you stayed nice and safe, but I understand." he said with a smile as they passed into the city once more. "Shall we take you home now?" he asked as the horse turned down the main thoroughfare of the city.

((Ummm, sorry for intruding? Uh, because I don't if aliens exist in this world, I just wrote demons.))
Somehow, in her stupor, Shizuru had made it outside her locked house and stumbled in the streets. She really was drunk this time. Usually, the doctor was pretty good about keeping herself sober due to her professionalism. But for some reason, this time, she had just gotten drunk.
Shizuru sashayed into the road that Haucon and Aidan were traveling on and suddenly stumbled and fell flat on her face. "Demons..." the drunken doctor muttered as she tried to get up. Everything seemed compltely off around her. Colors.. images were melding together and blurry, and she was hearing things. There was some sort of clip-clop-clip clop noise getting louder and louder...

triggerperfect,
Aidan smiled, and laughed contentedly. She was a little disappointed when she saw the city approaching out of the darkness. As they entered the main streets, Aidan began to answer Haucon's question, "Well, I guess-..." Suddenly, the elf saw something stumble into the road from the side of the street. As she heard the mumble from the prone creature, Aidan gasped a little, unsure of how to stop the horse. "Haucon..." She spoke nervously, and put her uninjured hand on the reigns in front of her, preparing to pull.

Haucon was glad that they were moving slowly, and that Farran was enough used to combat to not panic when suddenly someone, apparently drunk, stumbled into the road in front of them and fell down. He pulled up short on the reins, wrapping his arm more tightly around Aidan to hold her in place and being careful to make it as smooth of an abrupt stop as possible. He didn't want her to have a bad experience on a horse, especially since she seemed interested in learning more about them.
"What the...?" he asked as Farran came to his sudden stop. He leaned forward around Aidan and wrapped her good hand in Farran's mane before sliding off the large animal, holding the reins to be sure that he didn't go anywhere. "Are you alright?" he asked warily of the young woman collapsed in the road. He moved to help her up.

The clip clopping stopped, and Shizuru saw a couple of large black figures in front of her.
"Argh,...demons," Shizuru mumbled as she tried to move away from the black figures. One large one had moved toward her. Who am I kidding? There are demons, and magic doesn't exist! In her drunken state, Shizuru had been babbling nonsense. Though she was still drunk, she still held fast to her belief that demons and magic didn't exist. "Get away from me..."

Haucon took a step back and put his arms up as a gesture of peace. "As you like." he said turning back to the horse and looking up at Aidan. "What do you make of this? She seems to be awfully drunk or something." he whispered to her, glancing back at the woman on the ground. ((short >.< thank you term papers for zapping all my creativity!))

triggerperfect,
Aidan looked hard at the prone woman, attempting to distinguish her features in the darkness. Eyes widening for a second, she put a hand on Haucon's shoulder, using his sturdy frame to lift herself down. Walking lightly over to the drunk woman, Aidan almost gagged at the smell of Alcohol that hung around her. Gulping, she leaned down. She pushed a few strands of hair out of the doctor's face, and sighed, standing up. The small elf turned back to Haucon, "She's a customer of mine..."

Haucon put a supportive hand on Aidan's back as she dismounted from the horse to make sure she didn't hurt herself. They stood back away from the alcohol fumes and he too looked at the prone woman. "A customer of yours? That's strange. What should we do? We can't just leave her here, she'll get run over if not worse." he said glancing about warily.

Voices... people were talking. Black figures were people? If they tried to attack her, she'd karate chop them! She was pretty good at martial arts. Suddenly, Shizuru's stomach didn't feel so good. A few seconds later, the doctor gagged and a bunch of puke came out her mouth onto the ground, neatly splattering some liquid on one of Haucon's shoes.
Shizuru stared at the ground and pulled back. "Urrrhhhh..." Gross.
((Uh, I hope I'm not setting the trend for Shizuru to be the one who always get knocked out or helped. Not very doctorly. Hehe. sweatdrop ))
