Tunda gives a small smile to Mel for trying to cheer him up, then sighs and shakes his head. "B-but h-he's right.. I-if I c-can't m-make myself g-get used to others, I d-doubt I'll ever r-really be c-considered n-normal..." He puts the fish on a broiling pan with some spices and herbs, then shoves that into the oven before turning to preparing the rest of the meal.

"True... and it's up to you to decide when you're ready for that." Mel watched the pokemon cook up the meal while sipping at his tea. If only Tunda wasn't taking it so hard, as if he was a failure simply for not being perfect, or inhumanly quick at adjusting to an alien setting.

Tunda looks at Mel over his shoulder, a small smile crossing his face briefly. "T-true, but b-because of what I've b-been through, I d-doubt I'll ever b-be ready for t-that.." He says, turning back to making sure the meal didn't burn.

Well... there was a growing number of reclusive writers and such nowadays. He was not about to give up on Tunda just because he was feeling depressed about his current progress. The more time passed, the more people he would meet and the more he would realize that not everyone is evil, or even simply untrustworthy. Just... a lot of people are.

Tunda pulls everything out of the oven and off the stove, seperating it evenly onto two plates. He carries the plates over to the table and sets them down, then goes to hunt through the drawers for a couple of forks and some knives. He walks back to the table and sets one of each utensil down by each plate, then sits down and waits for Mel's opinion of the meal. "I-it's alright if you d-don't like it..." He murmurs, staring down at his own plate again.

(( is it ironic that I had salmon for dinner tonight, and I did not choose what we ate? x3 ))
"Oh but it's salmon, how can I not like it?" Mel asked sincerely. He had always been a big fan of the red-fleshed fish, or orange rather, when cooked. He had allowed Tunda to do practically everything including serving and setting the table, hoping that accomplishing this much would bolster his self-esteem just a little. Leaning over his plate, Mel took in the scent with a smile before taking his first bite. "It's good... what did you season it with?"

((lol I WISH I could have salmon for dinner tonight. *pout*))
Tunda blinks, eyes snapping back to Mel as the other takes a bite. "Um.. I just followed the recipe. Lemon pepper mixed with garlic and butter to make a sort of lemon butter based, then some parsley flakes for color and salt and pepper." He smiles brightly, happy that Mel liked it. "I-it's the first time I've c-cooked it, to t-tell the truth."

(( Normally I don't get salmon either. I love it so much. x.x <3 *tries to email you some* x3 ))
Mel smiled happily, practically wiggling in his seat. I'm so glad I'm not lactose intolerant anymore. I missed things like butter. "Lemon is usually win-win when it comes to salmon," he agreed. "You should eat! Seriously, this is really good. I can't tell you've never done this before."

Tunda smiles again before beginning to eat his own food, tail swishing behind him, a low purr escaping his skinny frame once again. "I-I'm gl-glad you like it, Ma-Mel."

"Mhm," the dragon grinned. "But do you like it?" That mattered just as much, of course. The cook had to like what he was fixing or the love just wasn't there.

He blinks, then smiles and nods, tail swishing behind him once again. "Yeah, I do. Would be fun to cook it again."

"Well then you should try it again sometime, or do it more often. I don't think anyone would object if you started cooking for them," Mel grinned.

Tunda thinks for a moment, then nods, a small smile crossing his face again. "Y-you sure? I d-don't want to t-take anyone's j-job away from t-them..."

Mel shrugged. "Well, normally Inari will cook when he's around but he lives overseas. Needless to say that's not all the time. So it's kind of a free-for-all around here, but I'm fairly sure people would eat if you cooked it," he added, nodding. "Who wouldn't want someone cooking for them?"

Tunda thinks for a moment, then shrugs. "I dunno? M-maybe someone who doesn't like having anyone else cook for them... B-but then they'd be cooking for themselves anyway, wouldn't they?"
