"Should...Should we help him?" muttered Zephyr.

"HAH. Set would probably attack you rather than that thing if you tried that. The headstrong idiot will try to kill it himself. And when that fails, or when he gets knocked out...or when hes dead, we'll have to storm in and do all the work. Its how it goes most of the time." Ra said, apparently annoyed by his brothers antics.

Neon rolled her eyes and sighed heavily. "Okay, fine. I'll humor you." She began to sing, using powerful telepathy to pester everyone there.

"I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves, everybody's nerves, everybody's nerves!

I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves and this is how it goes~"

There was a psychotic smile on her face.

"You know you should really shut you trap!" he turned to face his attacker. with a wicked smile on his face he disappeared just as the mouth snapped closed. then reappearing at the beasts side with his claymore already stabbing into him. "I have brushed death hundreds of times, I do not fear what you can do to me."

The beast screamed in anger and pain. Neon succeeded in pulling that damned claymore from its side, but the damage had been done; its current form was falling apart. The beast's twisted, pulsating, black flesh began to bubble and swell. Finally, with so much pressure building up, the beast exploded, splattering a dark, chunky liquid everywhere that seemed to be some sort of ink. <******** silver-wings...You're lucky Im not powerful enough in my current state to tear your soul from your body..." Covered entirely in shiny black liquid, a figure lay panting at the site of the explosion on his knees and elbows. The mask apparently had gone with the blast, for as he stood to face Kai, only a blank white right eye could be made out on the otherwise featureless face. "But don't worry, I'm a gentleman. I'll make sure you get a parting gift!"
His right arm shot out in a whipping motion, and a flurry of black, inky daggers came flying at Kai. Only one made its mark, sticking him in the shoulder and quickly melting away into the wound. A dark, ink-splotch shaped bruise began to form.

"Oh Kai, Im hurt! You don't recognize me in my new form? A shame. There are darker forces at work this time 'round silver-wing. Darker than myself. Tremble, all that you know shall be dissolved to chaotic nightmare."
The blade sank effortlessly into the inky body, becoming stuck as the goop reformed around it. That damned eye of his began to glow once again as it stared Kai in the face.
There was something terrifying about that eye; even more terrifying was what had just been spoken from the mouth the face seemed to lack.
The figure's right arm slopped off and fell to the ground; but almost immediately another took its place. As the inky substance melted away to a puddle, a large and jagged black toothed whip lay in its midst.
"Neon! You're to take this, and kill this nuisance with it. Its improbable that he's gained any new powers in the 5 years since I last had a chance to study him; the whip should nullify them. When you're done here, you're to report to my private quarters."
He turned back to Kai, and with a graceful bow, exploded; spattering more of the slippery inky substance across the battleground.

The woman darted forward, grabbing the whip before anyone could react and steal it. "Aye aye, sir!" she quipped. With whip in hand, she snapped her arm and began to hit him with a flurry of very fast, very sharp attacks, screaming at him. "You are an obstacle to justice!! You deserve to have your soul yanked from your corpse and forced to wander the astral planes alone forever!"

Ialo ducked and sighed with relief, seeing as how he was not the brunt of this woman's anger today. He crept up behind the Rinaldis, whispering softly (to keep Neon's attention diverted), "Listen, just take these and go inside." He slipped amulets around their necks, quickly, before they could object. They were pretty things, cut clear gemstones. They contained essences of dragon magic, and were powerful defense enchantments. "Now go, and let the grown-ups handle this." Probably a mistake on his part, talking down to such independent-minded siblings. Well, maybe Lia would listen.

The brother's conversation did not fall on deaf ears. In a moment, Ialo was before them, arms crossed, eyes glaring and hovering slightly above the ground. His eyes had turned an infamous shade of cold electric blue. "And just what do you think you boys are doing?" Ialo wasn't intending to come off as scary or threatening, but he unconsciously took an authoritative stance.
