Layna blinked her eyes, trying to force back hot tears. The world seemed to tilt oddly as she finished reading the letter. She held Gabriel loosely to her, almost like he was nearly hanging. Her strength seemed gone as the whole reality came crashing upon her. Her husband was dead. She would raise her son...alone.

Gabriel watched as the money, credit cards, and slips of paper fell onto the ground when she dropped the enveleope. His tiny little arms reached out to grab on of the casrds that had shiny letters on it. "Ma ma....ma ma"

Layna stared absently at the objects on the ground. The warm smell that had pervaded the letter, saturated those objects as well. It made her feel sick and angry. She slowly sank to the ground, pain coursing through her. Her hands let go of Gabriel and were put to her face. Her body rocked with sobs.

sakura-haruno-sister Sitting across from Ghostflower Alex gently set Shadow on the grass in front of her. "This is better, Syrin is sitting a little away so she can watch for any danger." "Don't worry I'll keep you safe." Syrin said as she quickly ducked her head between two trees. Ghostflower nodded slowly with an emotionless face and began to nurse Fangoria. She quickly made a face, the feeling of her baby sucking on her chest new to her. She looked down at Fangoria and smiled abit. Fangoria looked up at her mother then closed her eyes.

"Do you like being a mom, Ghost?" Alex asked as Shadow fell asleep. "I sometimes feel that I, myself, need to adopt children to help them. Other times I feel like I should just keep doing what I do best, be a doctor."

Ghostflower looked at Alex and bit her lip. She felt the pain of the dead enter her mind. Ceon was gone, like in her vision. It made her hard to find an answer for Alex. Soon, she felt tears run down her pale face. She didn't know him that long, but it was still painful. The thought of Gabriel being alone with only his mother made her heart ache.

Armadn grabbed his cane tightly, bent down and leaped onto the bridge before him, a good half a fotoball field away. he turned to the man again, shaking his head and walked down the cobblstone pathways to where they lead out into a field. he smelled blood and hid behind a tree, gazing a t a sad sight indeed. "Veroen?" He whispered. he had encountered the man sometime before at an old mansion coven on the coast somewhere.

"That friend of yours has died hasn't he?" Alex said as she felt a wave of grief and pain ripple through her body. "Do you want to go and see what happened?"

Layna let out a silent squeak as the man appeared near her. Her wide eyes held fear and pain. She stood up quickly, her steps stumbling. Her head whirled at the sudden movement, and she sank back to the grass, her stomach lurching uncomfortably. Layna's senses felt dulled, stunned, and could not react fast enough for her mind to bother controlling her body. Her thoughts were entrapped on one thing: Why had the Tainted chosen to kill her husband? "Ma-Ma!" The whimper of her small son cried into her ear. She blinked, clearing hazy eyes, and looked down at her son. No tears flow upon his pallid face, yet his eyes were bright with tears. He was upset, and couldn't understand what had just transpired.

Amelia sat perched in a large tree fully leaved. She gazed up through the branches at the stary sky overhead, half asleep half awake. She was at the border of dreaming and waking. The place where it was easiest to 'see'. She snapped out of it not wanting to leave her body for a look around. She leaned back against the rough bark and listened to the wind through the trees. "An odd place, this city." She whispered quietly to herself.

Tenosuke stumbled drunkenly along one of the concrete paths in the park. His feet scraping noisily along the ground. In his right hand he carried a half-empty bottle of bourbon, occasionally taking a swig of the fiery brew as he meandered along the path.
His vision spun suddenly, and he decided that he needed to sit down. He spotted a park bench and immediately plopped heavily and much less gracefully than he had intended. This feat was mighty impressive considering the two katanas strung across his back.

Having sat long enough for his head to clear a bit, Tenosuke decided he was tired of wandering around by himself and to go find a good drinking buddy. He stood up, without incident, and began to meander out of Central Park and into downtown New York.

Ghostflower nodded slowly at Alex's question. She slipped her sleeve back on and stood up, Fangoria silently sleeping in her arms that were gently folded. Ghostflower walked back over to where she saw Ceon and arrived at the sight, stopping next to Layna and Gabriel. Her stare seemed emotionless, but hot tears poured out of her crystal blue eyes and ran down her face.

Steffon and Duke had been skulking around in the Park hoping that Razu would make it out ok when they had heard about Ceon's death. They ran to his body to make sure. Steffon whined with sadness.

Alex got up and followed Ghostflower. She placed her hand on the crying woman's shoulder and said a soft prayer.
