User ImageWith a mighty, silent yawn and a shake of her head, Corn set off to creeping through the sleepers. It was an odd thing, for someone so generally clumsy to be able to tread around sleeping people lightly enough to not wake them... but, she was barefoot, in grass, and without her shoulder bag. That made it easy.

She crept to the lake/pond/thing (how big did a body of water have to be to be a pond or lake?) and was going to get a drink when she noticed that there were people swimming in it far enough away that she couldn't make out much of what they were saying. It didn't seem like a bad idea, so she decided to wade in herself, fully dressed. She had a change of clothes, who cared if she got these wet? No doubt the sun would be strong enough to dry 'em later. The others seemed to be in private conversation, so Corn just dog-paddled around quietly. There must have been some small current, though, because she started drifting in that general direction, though slowly enough not to notice.

"Indeed she does." Lumina laughed at Rhia's words, "Escape artist indeed." She watched her eevee tackle the evil stick, rolling with it before giving an epic pounce.

"Vee?" Chai peered up and chirped again, flouncing after the first thing that moved - which happened to be Rhia. The eevee wound herself beneath Rhia's feet, which was probably recipe for anyone to trip over. But before long she pranced back to Lumina, long tail swishing like a flag behind her.

"Keep out of trouble now, Chai." Lumina snickered, scooping her up to bury her nose in the warm brown fur. "I won't let anything bad happen to you anymore. And we're going to find all your friends to." The mumbled quietly into the fur before straightening and following to the water side.

The watcher was just fine with a wash down of her arms and face, waving to the others with a smirk as she settled on a rock to listen to the others while staring at the altar, with Chai deciding that if her new companion was looking at the altar, than surely she must go over there and see what was of interest. The eevee found a loose rock to play with rolling it about with cheery little trills.

With a faint smirk he nodded, "So you didn't sleep either huh?" It was nice to know he wasn't the only one to shaken up for rest. "So much for a relaxing expedition eh?" He ran a hand through his soaked hair, shaking out droplets from the ends, and promptly pushed away from the shallows to where he could wade comfortably. "Yeah, I know what you mean, I can't imagine anyone getting a real night's rest...Though it seems plenty of people did." He cast a mild look back in the direction of the sleeping bodies. Carter was about to say something further, when a familiar voice drew his attention.

A true grin broke into his face and he motioned for her to join them with a wave of his hand, "Well I do, but I guess it would be alright." He was one lucky fellow, sharing the lake with two...no three women so early in the morning. Eyebrows quirked upwards at the floating mass that was Corn, who didn't seem to be paying much attention to where she was going, "Oye!" He called out to her, hoping to rouse her from whatever it was she was day dreaming about.

For a second, Oyumi was tempted to correct Carter, but she let it slide. She'd slept last night, but the way to Motterossa she'd struggled to get more than a few hours. After a moment, she grinned and shrugged.

"Well, I came looking for adventure. I got more than I bargained for though," Oyumi said lightly, glancing up as Rhia arrived at the edge of the lake. "I don't mind at all! The more the merrier and all that!"

She hadn't even noticed Corn drifting their way until Carter greeted her... Well, it seemed like everyone had ended up with the same idea this morning! It was almost like an unplanned pool party... Only not.

@Anyone hungry:
User Image Anise stirred a little, then opened her eyes and blinked sleepily. For a moment all she remembered was that she was with the caravan to Moterrossa...then the events of the past couple days returned in a rush and she stifled a groan, snuggling back into her blanket for a moment. It seemed so peaceful now, did she really have to get up and disturb that peace?

But she knew time would pass whether she stayed in bed or not, so a moment later she sat up, looking around. Good, Felix, Halcyon and Sola were all still there. She petted her sleeping Delcatty's fur, waking the pokemon who looked up at her sleepily. It looked like a few people had woke up already. No doubt people would be hungry soon.

She quickly made a fire, pulled out plastic back the spiced apples she'd made last night and poured then in the pot to heat. The sweet smell soothed her worry a little bit. Who wouldn't be happy in the face of something sweet?

((@ Nyoko, Speaker, and Mist))

Rhia looked down as Chai wound around her ankles, smiling at the Pokemon until she ran back to Lumina. Chai was the perfect example of how different Pokemon from one species could be. The difference in Chai and Khelek's personalities was noticable. Chai was more playful than Khelek, and playful in a different way. It filled her with the desire to get into the base and rescue the remaining Eevee. A sudden smile split her features. Maybe she should open a shelter for Pokemon rescued from Team Rocket. First Aimee, and now she was getting her own chance at saving a Pokemon from their clutches. It was almost ironic.

Carter's invitation encouraged her and she waited until he had turned to look at Corn to quickly strip off her pants and then quickly stepped into the lake to hide her bare legs and... other such things. Her shirt she left on. It was white, so it wouldn't do much, but it made her feel more comfortable. She smiled nervously at Oyumi and gravitated into the girl's area to give Carter space. It was like swimming, really, but somehow that line between "underwear" and "bathing suit" just wouldn't be crossed in her mind. It would take a lot longer for her to get used to that, and they likely didn't have that long, unless their hiding out in the woods lasted for longer than anyone expected.

"Sleep well?" She asked Oyumi, already rubbing her arms down to try and scrub away the dirt and tear gas residue without soap. "You were up before I was this time."

"Vee?" Chai had made her way down to Anise, following the scent of sweet promises and flouncing about the trainer.

Lumina stood upright, chuckling as she made a short jog over, "Sorry about that," She scooped up the little eevee, "Need any help?"

@Speaker, Lady Mist, Nyoko, Rhiannon;

Corn was roused from her peaceful paddling by an unexpectedly close voice. She rolled upright in the water to get a better look. Whoops! She'd drifted close tot hose folks who were having a conversation. "Oh! Sorry if I'm interrupting or anything. I'll, uh, paddle somewhere else if you wanted some privacy."

User Image Anise giggled at the cute Eevee. "It's no trouble. And I don't need any help cooking, but I could use help eating up these spiced apples. Want some?" She picked up a spare bowl and looked at Lumina inquisitively.

Felix rolled to his belly and yawned, then trotted over to Anise and sat next to her. She petted him idly with her free hand.

@ Mist + Rhia + pond peeps

And the days rolled onward. Time was completely oblivious to the hardships the caravan had suffered over the course of the last couple days, waiting for no man nor woman nor pokemon to recover in neither body or spirit. Overhead, the quiet chirping of birds was pleasant and cheerful, the sound no different from any other morning, and the burble of a tiny stream could be heard running merrily on it's way. Streams of sunlight cascaded through the tiny holes in the canopy, bathing the glade upon which the trainers had slept in a warm sunlight, rousing it's occupants from their lazy slumber.

A few feet away, a black and dark blue sleeping bag lay haphazardly at the base of one of the mighty oak trees that loomed overhead, bulging a little with the outline of it's occupant. A little tuft of pink hair poked out the top end, making the whole thing look like some sort of giant mome rath from Alice in Wonderland. It was with great effort that Liam finally pushed on the flap of the sleeping bag, not bothering to unzip it, which in the end caused more frustration and effort than if he had just taken the time to do so. The healer grunted and growled groggily with the effort, until finally the zipper finally gave with an unhappy zipping sound, and the side of the sleeping bag split along the seam, revealing blue-jeaned legs and the black shirt he had accidentally fallen asleep in the night before. It lasted only a second, however, for it seemed as soon as he was free Liam gave a soft yelp, grabbing the end and curling it back around his body -- it seemed the chill of the morning and the dew on the grass proved much too inhospitable for the twenty-some-odd year old.

"Must be what a burrito feels like..." he yawned, staring of the tiny hole at the top of the sleeping bag at the glade around him. He seemed disinterested in the fact that others had already awoken before him, some braving not only the chill of the air but the cold of the water, responding only with a grimace. That was going to be unpleasant. Still... he did feel kind of grimy after last night's escapades...

Hm... decisions decisions...

Ultimately, it was the sight of a few people he knew that roused the lazy healer from his awkward caterpillar position, sitting up and (with much effort,) struggling into a standing position. It was about that time that he wished sleeping bags could open at both ends. Or his, anyway. Guess it really was time to ditch the sleeping bag. He let it drop with a scrunch of his face, his hands immediately going to his arms.

"Mornin'," he offered to Lumina, glancing around at the others around the pond and nodding to them each in turn, rubbing his arms a little as he approached. The eevee was the last to reach his gaze, and blue eyes lingered on them curiously, a grin curling the corners of his lips. "Who's this sweet pea?"

@Speaker and anyone around Carter

Ezekiel searched his bags until he finally found what he had been looking for. A small metal bottle that was filled up to the rim with whiskey. He looked around for Carter, but could not see the man. "Hmmm...." He let out his murkrow and let the bird search for the other retiree, it didn't take long for said bird to be perched nearby to Carter. He cawed a couple of times, but no to get the ex-cop's attention, but to tell the researcher where they were.

The tall man stepped forward and raised an eyebrow at what he saw, shaking his head. "Good morning."

At Lake Crew:
"Don't worry you aren't interrupting anything." He waved his hand about to the people who seemed to be multiplying on the bankside, "We're all just trying to make the most of the morning."

Part of him wished to edge closer to the two women and join their conversation, but his father had raised him right and he kept his distance, craning his ears instead to listen to their conversation. They all seemed so upbeat, perhaps he should take lessons from them, what with him still wallowing in his own despair.

Carter moved back towards the bank and sat down in the grass, drawing his knees to his person. He remained ankle deep in the cool water, his head resting heavily upon his knee caps as he watched his two companions. It was a difficult task, for the manly man within him wished to get a closer look, but he managed to keep his eyes leveled on the space just above their heads, "How did you sleep Rhia?" Vaguely he wondered if she had been visited by anything else in the night, perhaps something that could help their predicament.

((@ Lake people and Nata))

"I don't think we had anything too private to talk about. Come on over, it's no fun swimming alone," Rhia offered, although her hands were occupied with trying to rub dirt out of one of the sleeves of her shirt. She glanced up at the other girl. "I do find it funny that the four of us are early risers, and all in the green caravan, though." Goodness... that caravan felt as if it had been years ago. So much had happened since then, so many groups had broken up and merged with people from other colors, that it was hard to distinguish anymore. It wasn't a real way of classifying at this point.

Rhia returned Liam's nod with a wave and smile. Her eyes turned to Oyumi, and she found herself inspecting the girl's strange undergarments again. How did those shorts work anyway? It was hard to tell through the water, especially since the sun was starting to glint off of it through the trees.

The presence of someone new, of a stranger, sent Rhia ducking under the water up to her neck to cover herself. Sure, she had the shirt on, but again-- it was white. And she wasn't familiar with this guy. At least Oyumi and Carter she knew fairly well. Kind of. As well as you could know two people you met two days ago.

Edit for Speaker's surprise post! XD: Rhia shook her head. "I slept just fine, thanks, Carter. Much better than the other night. I feel safer here than I did." She smiled at Oyumi. "It helps that we've started banding together, I think. With a big group of people, the threats out there don't seem as... threatening."

Lumina grinned happily at Anise, smelling the spiced apples with an exaggerated intake of breath. "I shall do my duty and assist you in downsizing their population." She replied, accepting the bowl and failing to fend off Chai who promptly stuck her nose in it.

Looking up at the healer, Lumina laughed and shook her head, "Your hair looks like a bird's nest." Not that pink hair would make a birds nest, but it had that just-woken anti-gravity look to it.

"And this," The watcher scratched the eevee behind her ear, "Is the escape artist and playful creature, Chai."

@Lakefolk;

Thus assured, Corn settled into drifting leisurely around the others in the water, responding to their assurances and greeting each in turn. "Good to know. Good morning, good morning..."

A quick sniff of the air. "Something smells nice. Or edible, at least." Corn started edging to the bank, trying to locate its source.
