Manguusu So I've been playing Minecraft like crazy lately. I've been wasting a coupl hours a day watching my friend play Minecraft. xd he and the rest of the guys on SolrinBizna's server moved to a new server, and they are starting fresh. a shame too, cause the old one was pretty neat. whee but I am psyched to see the more natural-looking one. xd Kyle totally terraformed the whole place with the goal of clearing the entire changable map and making it look as obviously man-made as possible.

Alright... So someone just really pissed me off...
I posted something about 90 girls being pregnant in one school in Tennesee and he practically started to bad mouth me because I got pregnant at 17. There is a difference between me and those girls. I had a support system, I had a job, I worked for what I wanted, I graduated high school, and hey look! I'm married to the father now! All because I WORKED for what I wanted! I have no clue why this is pissing me off... Oh wait, yes I do! I hate when people like to tell me about me when they have no clue who I am and what I have gone through!

He was wanting you to get pissed off, and those people are a dime a dozen in Gaia. Yes you worked hard, and you have maintained, something that so many people can't own anymore. It is sad that so many lower class neighborhoods are going through these trends right now, and there is a difference in being part of a trend, and taking responsibility for what has happened.

Now to make the fuku-thigymabob-watsitcalled-japanese-schoolgirl-thingy, arm thingies (they have no real name...), leg thingies, get a yellow belt, get my grandpa to make a headset (not working), buy the stuff, aaaaaaaaaaaand...
Learn how to use a sewing machine.
lol. Long, but fun, weekend in front of me, folks. XD

It's pretty sad though, that this person claims to be a friend. We text and all, then he says s**t like that. Seriously... He told me I need to come "off my high horse". That made me even more mad. Of all the people, he should know that I am not like that...
I'm sorry that this thread has kind of become a rant thread for me...

I feel you, Aakosir. I had a little different experience though; it was my family trying to get me to ditch my guy, because he knocked me up out of wedlock. They're pretty much all hardcore fanatical Christians, which isn't horrible or anything, just when they try to hold me to their concept of what's moral and right. I'm still with my baby daddy, and married and all (which finally shut them up, much to my relief), so apparently doom and gloom does not immediately descend in 100% of these cases. lol
Instead of preaching abstinence, which with many hormonal teens really doesn't work, how about we insert an intelligent program in schools that educates on safe sex instead... O.o Parents pay people to raise their kids (after school programs, daycare, etc) while they're at work, they shouldn't have the right to complain about a stranger teaching their kids things THEY should have taught them from the freaking beginning. IMO there's no age too young. A child that knows the name of his or her genitals is almost old enough to know where babies come from.
I just don't think sexuality is something we should "protect" young people (of reasonable age, say 8 or 10) from. It's natural and necessary to continue our species.

good luck, Sapph! sounds like alot of fun! xd show pics when you get it finishd!
and yeh, I hate when folks try to act like I have no credibility when I bring up a topic as well. like, I don't have room to talk, no matter what I've been through, or like they think I'm making s**t up. how dare I presume to know what I'm talking about! where do I get the nerve to base my opinions or beliefs off of personal experience!
but like Elta said, these folks ain't worthe getting upsetover. you know the truth, and that's all that matters.
now, on one hand, I will say that it is a little unfair to assume that none of those 90 girls have certain circumstances which either make their pregnancies more responsible than most (such as wealth, or a fiance with a decent income), or which were out of their control (rape, perhaps). it isn't like you are the only one who has special circumstances, and judging others without knowing what they've been through would make you a hypocrite for getting angry at someone else for doing that of you.
but again, we still have to acknowledge the fact that it's nearly 100 girls in one freaking school! o_O; that's alot of pregnancies, so there is obviously a certain lack of self-restraint among adolescents going on over there. anyone who shows a lack of concern for that would have to explain to me why they don't see a problem, or else I would likely suspect that they simply don't care whether teenagers are ******** their own or other's lives up!
where are the parents in all of this? why are they not teaching their children about these things? the only places where anyone gets any realistic sexual education are SOME churches/covens/worship groups, and those tend to have strong biases which are juxtoposed against abominable advertisements and media portrayals.
I don't understnd the fear and shame which grips the supermajority population when it comes to sex. I realy don't.

Going off of what seems to be the main topic here, I have to say it's a crying shame what girls with early pregnancies go through. Yet I feel almost no sympathy for those who just expect everyone around them to do the work for them if they decide to keep it or if they did it on purpose for attention.
As for unprotected sex, isn't it common sense to use a condom or birth control every time? My friend recently went through a pregnancy scare (false alarm, thank God), but all I could think about was why was she having sex in ninth grade, let alone unprotected anyway? My school has three girls currently known to be pregnant. Three. I do agree with giving more of an education on protected sex in high school Health classes, especially if it means let drop-outs and girls going down a path of self-destruction.
Girls who really work hard with what their given, and actually try to give their babies what they should have, I seriously give congratulations and say they are honestly present-day heroes with they crap they put up with everyday. Crap coming from parents and families, people thought to be friends, baby dads most of the time ditching, and the general looking down on them from society. My mom was pregnant with my older sister when she was 17, had her at 18, then had me by the same guy (at the time married to him) at 20. She has worked her a** off to get us in the middle-class, have a house she bought herself, and a Bachelor's degree for teaching English, all of which I watched her do. Women like her and Aakosir with early mother-hood that work for happiness are the greatest out there.
((sorry for random rant/praise, it's been a long week...))

Wow thanks lol
Yeah everything's been alright it's just drama in my friend group at school, got a white-wash for a yearbook picture, didn't get a speaking role in my district's musical, frustrating teachers, and lack of sleep. But not the worst week I could have had lol

I just don't think sexuality is something we should "protect" young people (of reasonable age, say 8 or 10) from. It's natural and necessary to continue our species. That's how his family is. But they are the biggest hypocrites. They claim to be Catholic, but are just really using it to their advantage when they can. His mom, literally, harassedd me and my mom because I chose to have her and keep her. I had 5 families that offered to adobt her if that was my choice. 5!
But yes, I agree that we need to create different sex ed programs. They obviously are not working. I really think that parents need to play a large role in it all. I mean, I will be the one encouraging abstinence until they are old enough to fully understand the consequences, but I will also be teaching them about the consequences and when it is the right time, encourage them to be smart and safe. I really do not know how I am going to react when my daughter is a teen, it's going to be weird!

Well the article made it sound like the girl's were buying themselves out, prostitution and all. They say "they are making deals with each other to do it" I don't really know how that was meant, but I took it as people paying people for sex. How would you take it? And yes there could be girls who are well off, but I don't know. Actually, it's a video... Here it is Their "plan" sounds a bit rediculous. The No Baby plan...

And when girls actually do try to make the most of their situation I do feel happy. There are so many, though, that think everything will just be handed to them. A girl I worked with was living with her sister, her baby's daddy was a waste of breath and was hardly helping. She worked full time and paid for a babysitter. She was trying to make the best of it all since the dad said he would marry her and all then ended up moving to a different state... What really irks me is the guys who do that. My husband did when I was 7 months along. He had been growing distant the entire time, but that incident that night was uncalled for... I forgave him because he was under a lot of stress, but it took some time. I do not feel bad for him, because look at what he put me through. He deployed and left me here with only my family. I had to file for support. I actually got him in a bit of trouble for that twisted

It'll be a long while, though, before I'm finished.
