Joe nodded. An idea was forming. All right. Do you think that if I were to move at top speed - you've seen it, pretty damn fast - that I could take out the ones in front of us and get us out of here?

You could just break through the window, the Titan's Fists pointed out.

Yeah, but I figured it might be easier to take a few of them down to lower the threat. But we'll go with your idea. Joe tapped Jacob and quietly explained the plan.

A black beret called out abruptly. "A sweep has shown the terrorists have fallen in with a crowd! Please move towards the doors! We will pat you down and check you for weapons, and if you're clean, you will be released! Form an orderly line!" The crowd began to get to their feet, shuffling into something that vaguely resembled a line. Almost. A little. If you were drunk, maybe.

In the time it took the vampire to kick the grenade, Steven had time to regain his aimpoint and unleash automatic gunfire at the vampire. George in the meantime reloaded.
Fyrin threw himself downward on the vampire, augmenting his weight with a great deal of water drawn from the atmosphere and weight drawn from ground around him. Once down he proceeded to light his forehead on fire and headbutt the vampire. Hard.

Joe groaned. "Of course." He stood with the rest, now speaking quickly to the Fists. OK, we take out the ones at the door and I flit the hell out of here. You good to go? I'm gonna need some serious punch for this one.

The vampire clenched his fist and did a sit-up, meeting Fyrin's headbutt with his own. Fyrin was thrown back. The vampire stood, rubbing his mildly burned forehead. By the time he pulled his hand back, it was healed.
It was enough to make Fyrin want to try to drink blood to see if he could pull off s**t like that.

Just toss me on your hands whenever you're ready, the gauntlets replied.

Time to start thinking and stop fighting. Think, Fyrin, think. What was around him? The elevator... what else?

Joe smiled and nodded. Once they were at the front, Joe put his hands into the pockets of his jacket and slid the Fists on. As the man went to pat him down, Joe's fist shot out as fast as it could, aiming to kill the man. He swung the other fist back to kill the guard on the other side at the same time. When that was resolved, however it went, Joe grabbed Jacob (again) and took off, blasting through the doors and flitting as hard as he could away from the airport.

"Oh God, help!" a normal guard yelled as the fists slammed into his reacting shield. Even the movement of the Titan's Fists towards them activated the autoshields. The black beret who was hit flipped gracefully and landed, opening fire at Joe; the normal guard's neck snapped against the ground, his shield having deactivated mid-flight. Joe escaped, his sudden acceleration detonating the windows behind him, raining shattered glass on the pavement and airport interior.

Fyrin saw that the room was mostly empty, save for four doors, two on each side other than the destroyed monitor bank and the elevator exit, beside which was a staircase.

Joe didn't stop as they blasted their way through the city. He made random turns, accelerated and decelerated crazily, and took to the air twice. Finally, he blasted down a back alley and cut all mana, looping it back. "We're clear," he panted to Jacob. "Hide your mana and follow me." He began to walk. It soon became clear that they were headed back to Rose's, although it was by a convoluted and ridiculously long route that would completely baffle and reveal any followers.

Fyrin backstepped several times towards the nearest door, keeping himself in fighting stance and facing the vampire.

Doing his best not to draw attention to himself, Joe pulled Jacob into a random empty lot, getting them out of the helicopters' sights. "We need to get back to Rose," he said quietly. "Or contact her somehow." Thinking suddenly, Joe reached into his pocket for the paper. He unfolded it and saw the Council doodles. Flipping it over, he saw...

Opening.
A blast of shattered glass flew at huge speeds towards the vampire's back.
