That question caught her off guard and she thought about it for a bit before answering. "I don't know. There are things involved if I become a sexual entity in his book. Sometimes I think I do and then I think about it for a little longer and I don't anymore." Shaking her head and keeping his hand securely in hers. "Deep breaths and close your eyes. It might take away that feeling, Ren. I'm not a sexual entity in your book, am I?"

Lillia sat there with him for four hours while the entire surgery took place. She refused to look and simply kept talking to Rennell about this and that and pointless things mostly. Telling him about her college days and her life on earth and how excited she'd been to come up to Fleet. It was important to keep him occupied through the whole thing and eventually she found herself telling him stories just to make him feel better.

As that fourth hour drew to a close, she stretched her back and gave him a tired smile. They had to be close to being done....right?

"Okay Rennell. the old Matu is out, we've got a transfusion running for your lightheadedness, and we'll start installing your upgrade now. now Like Jelena, this MATU is much much faster in the relay and processing. unlike Jelena, it's not going to be like going from a turtle to a car. think of it as going from jogging to sprinting."

Starting at the base and working up, reattaching the new system setups and monitoring inilital system reactions to him and making sure things were going online as they needed to be before a full system boot up once everything was installed.

"There's no more little metal jets on bone wings. it's a full five thousand microjet system, the feathers are aligned and kept in place by nanite magnetics, and micro bionic ties. like the sinew replacements for Jame's bioware arm. they work the the aelerons on a plane. the high amount of boosters means no meed for worrying about heavy flames burning people behind you, and the wing structure means mo risking pointy parts injuring people."

Working a little further up.

"we're also hiding your regulator hub in the spinal plates, giving it some heavier protection."

A couple more hours, and the spinal portion was done, now to hook all teh nervous system connectors back up and the tubing and turn the system on full. though the wings weren't attached yet. that was always after this boot up so he could try to move then and such and give them the heads up. this is probably the part were the 'pudding' term wuld get used if it did.

Another three hours of rehooking all that, techs trying to keep thigns clean but it wasn't overly successful, one keeping the sweat off jelena's brow every now and again and handing her tools as she requested them.

"Okay then. Rennell, read for a boot up?"


Smiling softly at her improved mood and following along behind her.

"See ther ewe go, a new mission, getting jelena to eat breakfast."

A chuckle and letting her have the seat and simply tkaing one by the workstation.

"How far did you get before the outage?"

"You're a woman." Enough said. "Whee." He had gone limited response but he was listening as Jessica tried to make him feel better by telling him what she intended to do with thim. Meanwhile he focused on Lilia, not that he was much good for conversation but he was a good listener, that could be said for sure. She had a lot of interesting things to say, he just didn't have the willpower to say too much more back. The whole time he still had hold of her hand, sometimes limply and sometimes threatening to break her fingers. "I think so..."

"If I had to pick a number it would have been 80%. Which makes me angry that I have to do that all over." But a sigh and it was on to working again, quite quietly over her computer and microscope, the handy little display screen on the computer monitor saving them both from eye strain and look over shoulders. She suppposed that knowing what she was doing from before it all being messed up made it go faster. Splicing was also fun because she got to direct little nanobots to do her bidding rather than fumbling around with her own fingers at points that she didn't need to.

Though as she worked she wasn't too quiet as she often made reactive noises which were quite cute from time to time. Three hours saw her indeed back to where she had been and then another hour had her binding together the last few pieces of gender assignment to the whole thing. "While we're in here, anything you would like to tweak from the other? Color or anything?"

Did that mean he'd considered sleeping with her? That was interesting... She listened to what Jessica said and took another deep breath. A whole day of work down the drain since she'd been sitting her for so many hours. Eric and Jelly would understand though. She let him squeeze and crunch and whatever else he needed to do while she attempted to keep him entertained through her own version of storytelling. "I'm right here, Rennell. You're going to be fine."

"Alright."

getting out some drill tools and opening up the casing in the middle..and starting to tweak things.

"Just tell me when you feel fine. it's probably just some dampening form putting the extra shielding in for the regulator."


James gave a small nod, he understood her back was hurting and this time of year she didn't like too much touching around there since it brought back bad memories.

"True, but I bet it feels nice to work on these things again. Speaking of which, I've been working on a side project with Jessica about your echoes. We know we had...problems...during the reowrkign here and I was taking to her about it and we think with a little work we might have a prevenative solution."

"Eh, pudding! Stop screwing what you're screwing. Numbness is gone..." Following Lillia's command to breathe some as Jessica fixed whatever it was that had probably been too tight. "I can feel my toes and my fingers so we're on a good road here." And what with constant tranfusion he didn't have to worry about lightheadedness. "How far are we?"

He was just bringing up everything she didn't want to talk about wasn't he? She looked at him skeptically and crossed her arms. "Preventatice solution to highly strile creatures' immunce systems being wrought with all the germs we carry around on and in us and everything else that has micro-things on it? Since when did you two transform into apparent gods." Oh yes she was still quite bitter about it.
