"All right," said Paige. She followed Anselm to the kitchen and was immediately hit by a wave of warm aromatic air. "Wow, this smells even better than lunch, and that smelled amazing- it's harder to smell food in the ocean, it's usually covered by the smell of everything else in the water."

"I'm not sure, what do you have, and what are your favorite foods?" Hugo asked. "I like fish like the haddock we had at lunch, as well as crab and lobster.

"Hello Juliet, the food you cooked earlier was delicious. I've come here because I'd like to help, the only things I've cooked before are fish and seafood over a hot water vent in the ocean- I'm a mermaid who Tauriel transformed into a human." Paige looked around the kitchen; there were a lot of things she'd never seen in the ocean like a stove, an icebox to keep things cold, and many unfamiliar dishes.

"Nice, spaghetti with crab or lobster sounds like it would be delicious." Hugo nodded. He helped a maid put cutlery on the table- he'd never seen spoons before, since they weren't really used underwater.

OOC: so Juliet has an avatar now too- that's nice. although you said Paige is Hugo's brother instead of sister LOL (pretty hilarious though)

"It's all right Anselm, sometimes Hugo tells me I'm more boyish than him, haha. It's nice to meet you too Juliet, I'd like to help out and maybe learn a bit more about human cooking." Paige opened the icebox and spotted some recently caught crabs. "Ooh, my brother loves these- but I only know how to boil them over an undersea vent. How do you boil seafood here?"

"Hmm, you sound nice, and I like that tune." Hugo tried to hum the same tune quietly, and it came out sounding quite nice, although he would be too shy to admit it.

OOC: would be nice if Tauriel and Hugo sing a duet

Paige put some crabs into a large pot of water. "It's amazing how something like this pot that would only hold heavy stuff like gold underwater is so useful on land."

"I could sing something while we wait, a mermaid lullaby I heard some of the mothers sing their small children," Hugo offered.

Do you think your friend makes a good teacher, Paige? I think you do great work together. Juliet said gently as she teaches Paige to cook in the human world.

Paige watched the pot to make sure it didn't boil over. "Both of you are great teachers, actually. Between both of you and Tauriel, I could probably learn how to blend in with normal humans easily."

Hugo began to sing quietly; even a simple tune at such a low volume, it sounded magical. Paige, being a mermaid and his twin sister, was completely immune, but to normal humans, merfolk voices are literally mesmerizing. Even for a human with magic abilities, it reaches them on a deeper level than normal singing; a well of emotions and a surge in magic power.

OOC: I did use artistic license on the description of merfolk singing, but based on classic mermaid mythology
