Chris Brooks set up on a roof near the scene. What he wasn't expecting was the Don and his crew showing up with Nightwing interrupting, This is going to be fun...

In short order, the henchman saw the Don's crew taken down by the heroes, and when he saw Arell begin to get into the cab, Gotcha.

Mr. Brooks fired one of his 'surprises' at the cab -- an RPG-7, when he was sure that the Don was clear of the coming blast radius from a weapon designed to to destroy lightly armored vehicles.

Dundee looked back at something that was coming towards them . . . it looked bad.

"ANTIGUA!! PUNCH IT!!" Dundee yelped. Antigua looked out the side mirror and saw something coming along at a good rate and slammed on the gas pedal . . . the RPG exploded kicked the car forward with a jump, but no real damage to anyone inside.

"Good call, li'l bro!" Arell said casually. More on the way I bet. he thought, but didn't want to scare the others. "Just let it roll, son." Arell said. Antigua looked worried.

"I dunno how far we be rollin', guys . . . " Antigua groaned as the cab screeched to a halt. The back had been damaged. Arell hopped out and took cover, pulling out his pistol, praying he had enough reach.

Brooks disgarded the spent RPG and pulled out a M16A2, while still on the rooftop. (still love Wikipedia.)

While the cab was stopped by his RPG shot, the black henchmen fired the single shot gernade into the back window of Antigua's cab. Calmly, the ex-military man switched the M16 to fire live bullets -- ready to fire.

Dundee, Antigua and Arell were all out of the cab . . . nobody was left inside but the crony, who was still rather unconscious and as the grenade landed in his lap, about to be blown to bits.

Arell noticed something land in the car. "Antigua, hope ya got insurance, che' . . . " Arell said as they dove for cover . . . the cab exploded in front of them, shrapnel barely missing them. Arell gripped onto a boxcar of a slow-moving freight and pulled out his pistol, trained on where the grenade came from. "COME AT ME, YA SUMBITCH!!" the Cajun shouted and fired a shot at Mr. Brooks.

Dundee and Antigua ran back to the Circus train and scrambled aboard, Dundee pulling out a locked strongbox out from under his bunk.

"'Ey, Mon . . . dis ain't exactly how I wanted to die! How am I gonna pay my rent?!?" Antigua asked. She was understandably a little pissed off.

Dundee smirked and unlocked the box, revealing two Thompson Machine guns.

"Antigua, sugar, we 'bout to earn our keep tonight . . . now load up an' follow me. I got a plan." Dundee said and loaded his machine gun.

User ImageChris Brooks ducked down from Arell's shot. As he popped back, up he flicked the switch on his rifle to 'auto' and fired a long burst of automatic fire at Arell. Brooks wasn't figuring that would down the Gator Man -- just make him stay in cover.

After he finished firing the full burst, Chris ducked down and went in the roof access of the abandoned building, Come and get me, you son of *****, I've got some surprises for ya.

The building Brooks was in was boarded up and barred.

Arell hopped out of the boxcar, narrowly missing the burst of bullets that ricocheted off the boxcar where he was a split-second earlier. He ran through the yard at breakneck speed, vaulting over rails, dodging trains and making a break for the abandoned building.

Meanwhile, Dundee and Antigua "borrowed" the stuntman's motorcycle from the circus and tried to find Arell, catching up to the big Cajun in front of an abandoned building . . . the old warehouse building wasn't anything special, but they rendezvoused in front of the building.

"What's th' plan, Bro?" Dundee asked as Arell lit a smoke.

"Don' even THINK about gettin' y'allselves in danger. It's ME he wants, bro. If anythang, get to this address . . . if I'm gonna die t'night, somethin's gotta be said." he said as he got out a piece of paper. On it he wrote these words.

Dear Crystal,

By the time this is written, I've taken on this knucklehead hitman that has it out for me and my brother, Dundee. I'm not sure if I'm going to die but if I am, I'll say this. You're the best cat-girl I've ever dated, and I'll never forget you. Hopefully if I survive we can see each other again real soon.

~Arell L'amour.

The big Cajun handed the note and the card to the address Catgirl gave him. Dundee didn't want to go though.

"I ain't doin' it, brother. You're not goin' down alone." Dundee said as Antigua nodded.

"He blew up my car, mon. I want in, too." Antigua said, and she meant it, too.

"Alrigh', y'all. Let's do this." Arell said as he loaded his pistol and kicked the door into the warehouse, the three running in, going for Mr. Brooks.

(gotcha Greasy. twisted )

When Arell kicked in the barracaded door as Chris predicted, two directional Claymore anti-personnel mines on either side of the door. The dual explosion would catch anything in between the doors and beyond up to 100 meters in either direction in a 60 degree arc.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M18_Claymore_anti-personnel_mine

(I really love wikipedia. xd )

Brooks made his descent into the lower part of the old warehouse. He smiled went he heard the Claymores going off. He proceeded to the next phase of his plan...

((Well . . . I had THIS coming, didn't I? redface C'est la vie. burning_eyes ))

The claymores went off, sending Arell flying backwards and landing flat on his back. Antigua and Dundee were several paces behind and didn't get the brunt of the blow as they turned to take a look at the burned and somewhat stunned comrade.

"Bro! Are you alright?" Dundee asked as the Cajun slowly came to.

"Come on, Arell. Speak t' me, mon!" Antigua asked as Arell coughed up a cloud of smoke.

"Dat . . . dat wasn't what I had in min' dat was gonna happen . . . but fo'tunately dis is why I keep my feathahs numbered just in case." Arell groaned, giving his best Foghorn Leghorn before he passed back out.

"C'mon, Antigua! This got personal!" Dundee growled angrilly, readjusting Arell's body so he wouldn't be in much danger, he ran in with his Thompson gun.

Rolling out in front of Dundee was what appeared to be a black puck which flares in a bright flash, followed by a tossed hand grenade....
PostPosted: Mon May 16, 2011 7:25 am

Dundee dove to the left, Antigua hiding behind a few crates as the grenades went off. The two scrambled up to the top catwalk armed to the teeth . . . meanwhile, Arell shook violently. The Cajun's human body could no longer hold back the animal inside as he transformed into a hulking alligator. He hissed and crawled into the warehouse, a four-legged killing machine.

((You're in trouble now, Skuldy.))

Chris Brooks smiled, his plan was working. They were charging in just as he hoped. The black henchman slipped down the manhole and locked the cover after him just as he electronically signaled a recording of automatic bursts to play near the center of the half full warehouse....
PostPosted: Mon May 16, 2011 11:48 am

Dundee stopped and held Antigua back for a moment and listened.

Ratatatatatat!!

Ratatatatatat!!

Something didn't seem right. No flashes, no zinging bullets, no blood.

"Antigua, we gotta get outta here, I think this is a trap!" Dundee said. Antigua looked at him funny.

"As in just let him git away, mon? Is you dense?!? I wanna kill dis scumbag for destroyin' my car, mon!" Antigua shouted. Dundee sneered at the sound of the firing.

"He already cleared out. We'll catch him soon." Dundee growled as he and Antigua exited the warehouse to find that Arell was gone!

The alligator was in the warehouse as he got to the manhole where Chris Brooks had escaped earlier.

"Dis how you's tryin' to escape? I keel dis basterd good." he growled in his animal speak as he took his tail and . . .

THUMP! THUMP! BANG!! He used his tail to bash the lock open and slid into the sewer, on a hellbent mission to capture Chris Brooks.

VICE

ENTER from Surrounding Areas of Gotham

Still no luck. Absolutely nothing. He’d gone to bars, street corners, alley ways, any place he could think of to try and find information on the Joker, or just abandoned buildings in general. Only thing he got were the usual vices and a couple of dead leads. This Joker was more invisible than HE was right now. This was absolutely insane. Edel would easily be able to find the guy, but all she did was tell them the kid’s ok, and gave them a general direction to look in. She probably would do more to actually help if they asked…she wasn’t much of a mother, but she did take care of her kids when they were really in trouble, right? Problem was, Gossamer didn’t WANT Edel’s help. So the Witch was probably respecting that stubborn decision and just leaving them to the task themselves.
Why were all the people on this stupid tree full of crazy? Especially the women?

Whatever. Vice was tired of raiding bars and dodging fist-fights. Time to do something a little more fun, and a little more productive. And sneaking into a high-security and highly expensive jewelry store seemed like a good place to start. Well…sneaking might be too dramatic of a word. All he really had to do was make sure his phasing abilities were good to go and become the invisible man until he was inside. Then he could just walk around and put whatever he wanted right into his pockets.
First place he went to was right up to the front room with all of the glass displays. Not really the place to make the big score of coarse…most jewelry stores like this kept all the REAL jewelry in the back and kept fake imitations in the front for display. Even the stuff behind the glass. But…this was a good way to window shop. Get an idea of what all he could get his hands on deeper into the store. As nice as the displays were though…he wouldn’t really care if they were real or not. Quite a few of them were very, very nice. And they’d look great on Gossamer. He wasn’t sure they’d completely cheer her up…but they couldn’t hurt either.

Then he heard it. Something in one of the back rooms smashed against a wall.

Vice’s head jerked towards the noise and he stared for a long moment stock-still. He wasn’t alone in here. Great. Oh, no wait, this was great. He could pocket whatever he wanted and this other person would get pitted with the blame. Well, better go to the back and take what he could there before they made off with all of the good stuff. He didn’t really care how much he left with…as long as he had something nice for Gossamer and felt like he’d actually accomplished something tonight.

With that thought, Vice began walking towards the back of the building. Phasing through walls and remaining virtually invisible to any eyes and cameras.
