Ben smiles from ear to ear and slides off his shoes. He steps down to the bed area and then almost runs to you, hugging you tightly.

*Synge smiles as Ben seems to be so eager to see her. She doesn't stop him but she feels like he is being strangely enthusiastic. She smiled in a still tired way and hugs him back, feeling a bit crushed.*
Heh...hi, you must have missed me a lot!
*She reached around his back to her eye with her hand and covered it. She winced slightly.*

At first, Ben doesn't notice your pain and he hold you tight, kissing your cheek.
Yeah, I had a great talk with Hikaru and I really think things are starting to work out between us! Err....
When he notices your behavior, he calms down and looks at you as you touch your eye.
Is it hurting you?

*Synge smiled as Ben brought up talking to Hikaru. She was glad that he didn't seem upset after talking about that. That must mean that it went alright. When Ben suddenly stops and looks at her eye she shrugs, feeling a bit embarrassed.*
Oh, I guess so. Yeah, just a little, nothing to worry about...

*Hikaru rested his head on the bar. His head hurt and he thought it might be from his new cut. He sighed and thought that he should probably get off to bed soon.*

He watches you carrying yourself as you do and scratches his head, this didn't seem right but he wasn't going to focus on it.
Yeah...I mean he told me everything that happened and that he was sorry...he also realized that you made your choice...love isn't an act..its a choice. He looked pretty torn up though...
He leaned in and kissed the edge of the pained eye and she could feel his heart was in the right place, he seemed to express happiness in a real an natural way.

He...told you...everything? I don't know why he would be so torn up...I really don't see why he cares so much about this.
*She really didn't understand, she was still pretty blind to Hikaru's real feelings. She smiled as Ben kissed her eye. It actually made her feel a little better. She stopped thinking about her eye for a moment and thought about how much she loved him.*

Ben nodded happily and then he was thinking about the situation a bit more in detail...how much should he really say? Shaking things off, he sat down next to you and smiled but his face was serious.
Synge... I believe that love is a choice rather than an action, you choose to love or choose to not love and if you choose to love someone you can't only love them partially...it has to be all or nothing...is that how you view love?
Behind Ben's gray eyes, she could see the lingering concerns but now a moment of true finality.

*Synge looked at Ben closely as he spoke. She saw that this was something serious so she sat up all the way and focused on his question. Honestly she hadn't really thought about what loving a person was. She just felt, and that was how it was for her. She never thought about choosing. She couldn't understand what this question was coming from.*
Well...I don't really know. I mean, I love you, because I feel that way about you. I can't be without you. If I wanted to not love you, I wouldn't be able to. Just like I couldn't make myself love anyone else...
*She sighed a little as she finished. She was thinking about how she had kept things from him, and she felt incredibly guilty about it. She looked at her hands as she thought about what she should do.*
Hikaru and you...what...did you two talk about? I-I think there's something I should say...

We just...talked...I told him I simply wanted to be his friend and that I had nothing against him. He told me that he loved you but gave it up and even thinks I am better for you than he is...
Ben nodded, the answer was okay, it wasn't as good as he would like it to be but his choice was no longer as easy.
Okay...then swear to me that you chose me and me completely...that's all I ask...can you say that?
His face was now hopeful but a little worried about being let down.

*Synge stopped breathing, or at least she felt like she had. Did Ben really just say that Hikaru said that he loved her? She finally realized the obvious. She spoke out loud, not completely meaning to.*
Of course...I-I didn't even notice...How stupid am I? I just thought, I don't know...But...I love you.
*She looked up at Ben now and said this with determination. There was only truth in what she said.*
I chose you, I always will. I love you Ben, and no one else can change that. Not even Hikaru...Even though he...I have to tell you something...I'm so sorry for not saying so earlier, but I thought you would be upset...
*She took a deep breath and looked at Ben with teary eyes.*
He kissed me, that's why I hit him...

He shakes his head and holds you close to him.
You aren't stupid...you never have been...but if it helps you go talk to him, I won't stop you.
Ben smiles when he hears the answer and he nods, showing he really does feel it. For a moment his eyes seem to connect to yours and he kisses you passionately and then holds you close after he ends the kiss.
And I love you...I made my choice...
He heard her finally say what he was wondering about but he had long since resolved what to do. He turns to you and you see nothing but compassion in his eyes.
I know...he didn't tell me...but I knew it. I don't care either...because I know in my heart that you chose me so even if he did kiss you it wouldn't change it. Just...always tell me the truth, I am very understanding...or at least I try to be. I can't go on forever worrying about something so small in the grand scheme of things. Besides...I don't own you...if you ever chose to kiss him...I could be hurt but I couldn't force you to do something you didn't want to do...I would never do that...ever.
In a moment of sudden attack, Ben felt his body shutting down. He held you close and his breathing slowed.
I...pushed myself...too hard today...I have to...sleep....I ...love you...
Ben collapsed on the bed and was in a deep sleep.

*Synge thought about that, maybe she would go talk to him. That might help him as well. She hadn't realized how much he was hurting, because she hadn't realized he was actually in love with her. She was glad of the kiss, it made her feel like what she was going to confess would possibly turn out alright in the end. However, that didn't take away her fears. She waited for what seemed like hours for Ben to look at her and speak. She saw the compassion and it gave her hope. She looked confused to hear that he already knew, but then she quickly felt remorse. She should have been the one to tell him, but she had been a coward. She was soothed by his words, but she couldn't pretend to not be a little worried still.*
I...I'm really sorry, I wanted to be the one tell you, I should have told you sooner. I don't want to hurt you, I don't want to kiss anyone but you.
*As if to show this physically she leaned in and kissed him softly on the lips. Then she felt Ben weaken a bit in her arms. She became alarmed as his breathing slowed. She was about to ask him if everything was alright when he spoke up. She felt him collapse and she brought her arms down with him, holding him for a moment as he fell asleep. She laid her head on his chest and listened to his heart. She loved doing this, it made her feel close to him. She laid there for a while, and then decided she had to go find Hikaru. She slipped out of Ben's arms and kissed his forehead.*
I love you Ben, please dream of happy things. I'll try and be the person who you deserve to be with.
*With that she got up and went to find Hikaru. She slipped on her eye patch and some slippers but stayed in her sleeping clothes as she headed on to the bar area. She saw Hikaru slumped over at the bar and became concerned. She went over to him and tapped him on the shoulder.*

*Hikaru had started to fall asleep before Synge came out to the bar. His back was still covered with leaves and although his head had stopped bleeding there was dried blood around the cut and it looked painful. He thought he felt someone nearing him but was too tired to move and see if it was true. When he was tapped he wasn't even scared and he simply laid still, until her heard Synge call his name. He quickly turned to look at her with awake eyes. He became aware of everything and forced a smile as he tried to pull his hair over his cut head.*
H-hey Synge! What's up?
