Hi, I'm new to gaia, and obviously this guild as well. XD
I've been playing the clarinet for3 years and I am about to go to high school. I'm planning on going to college for music. ^_^

The Color Fiend What's a good way to improve tone? This will be my third year of playing clarinet, so I know all of the things about having a square jaw and a tight embouchure. I do all of those things. But I'm still sharp unless I pull out the joints. I even bought a better mouthpiece; a Vandoren M13. I just bought a brand-new E11, too. Are there any other ways to improve my tone? joints as in the actual body? or just the barrel? most clarinets are made so that they will be sharp if they are all the way pushed together, because if they aren't, the temperature could make it impossible to tune. so if you only have to move the barrel, you're in good shape. shortcut to good tone: LONG TONES...boring as boring can be, but effective if you keep at it. do it with a tuner so you know how to fix your tuning mistakes with your embouchure...mind you, once you get it down, you shouldn't have to change your embouchure very much, if at all when you go to different notes.

Ah, the clarinet, is my all time favorite instrument! biggrin
I have played in since 4th grade (I am in 9th now) And I am in love with it<3 I am, too, in the marching band in my school. Plus, I am in pep band, regular band. ♫♪

WOW!! I haven't been here for awhile! Haha, anyways
i don't have my Clarinet with me anymore and i really miss playing it....*sad*
Mann i wish my mom let me do Summer Band now...lol!=)

hello im a junior and sh high school and im also play clarinet and oboe clarinet since 6th grade and oboe since 7th so yes im a clarinetist lol

wow it's been FOREVER since I've been on this let's see, senior year in h.s. band was ok I'm not doing marching band in college 'cause it's just too soon for me to get adjusted to that and college life, still love my clarinet, uhm, eight years so far I plan on joining their wind symphony that should be awesome ^.^

I've been playing clarinet for 6 years. I was setion leader at my first school,then I moved to a new school and was last chiar. I've really imprioved, and now I set third chair and play first part. 3nodding
