Cindy nodded, "So it will be difficult for when he does grow, and I'm sure he will. We all do eventually...."
It was just a question of when and how much havoc would ensue afterwards.
"Well, at least you know life won't be boring," Lin replied.

"I don't think the possibility of a boring life exists for anyone connected to your family," Earendil chuckled, poking Lin in the side. "I thought we already covered this."
He turned back to Cindy and smiled. "And how have you been doing?" he asked her. "All this talk about Vergil and Lin and I, but nothing yet about what you've been up to. Have you been keeping busy?"

Cindy giggled, "Vergil keeps me busy enough, but I've been spending time with Ruque coming up with new concoctions. Granted some a tad less explosive than the one he made up shortly before your visit. I'm hoping though to bring back plant samples from here, the drinks here are very interesting."
Very interesting, she liked them and the idea behind them deeming they could be very useful.

"And helpful," Earendil replied dryly. "Drinking the malek is the only way I can fly on any roc other than Haldia's without getting sick. I don't know if it's the movement or what, but it just doesn't seem to agree with me."
And he knew Leyenda had used it when she had been expecting; it was a very useful drink. And the drust with the way it warmed them from the inside out without alcohol ... very useful indeed.

Cindy nodded, "And what I can tell drust does really warm one from the inside out, unlike alcohol which only gives the illusion that it does."
She wasn't quite sure how it worked but she was pretty sure it warmed the core, but then again Cindy wasn't sure how that happened neither.

"Have you asked anyone about it?" Earendil asked. "Alena might have something in her archives, and if she does, Kaito I think might have a translation in your language and alphabet. I'm not sure if you've learned any elvish."
Though Adonai's books were all in elvish, as far as he knew, so maybe she had learned some of it.

"I can read it, but not speak it.. too well at any rate," Cindy replied with a chuckle, "There's never been a need to speak it, but a great need to be able to read it."
Everyone knew Common Tongue, and since Haven was full of both Light and Dark elves it meant that was the language often used, especially with her around. With Vergil, that need to just speak Common Tongue increased.

"Interesting," Earendil mused. "I always considered speaking to be the easier thing to learn, rather than the writing."
He snapped his fingers. "I just remembered. Their writing is different here than the Common Elvish back home. You would have to ask Kaito about it."

"I'll ask him then," Cindy agreed, "I've talked with him a few times already. It's strange to see him without Shiro and Ura."
Actually for her, it was stranger just known that Shiro wasn't there, because Shiro loved to know things, right down to the nitty gritty parts.
"Well I'm sure he'll come next time," Lin murmured, "Even if he has to drag Ura with him."

"That he will," Earendil chuckled. "Missing an island entirely ... he's going to be hitting his head on the wall for a while. On the bright side, we weren't there long - only a few hours - and so we really have no choice but to stay a while when we take Luk back home."
The thought made him grin. He had no idea if they already had maps of their land - it wouldn't surprise him if they did - but whether he had to map the continent or not, he was looking forward to exploring it.

"So, while taking him back home, we can stay and browse," Lin added, "So if Shiro wants to come, he's more than welcome to."
It made her wonder though what that would do to the project she knew Shiro wanted to do here. It was one thing when it was just four different elves, but there were now.. seven? Eight different types of elves not including the fact elves and humans indeed could have children and their children could have children.
"What he does with all his research I do not know," Cindy mused, "It would be more useful if he gave his research to the other elven kingdoms. It seems sad all that knowledge is holed up in a library in another world."

"Maybe we should suggest to Shiro that he make a copy for the libraries here," Earendil suggested. "I'm sure he wouldn't mind the work - it would give him something to do on the ship while we're traveling, if nothing else."
They did spend a lot of time on the ocean after all.

Lin nodded at this, it would be a good idea for part of the trip, even though she knew Shiro could just make copies of it with great ease.
"It would give him something to do," Lin murmured.
"And what about you?" Cindy asked, "Is teaching keeping you busy?"
"Kind of, yea, or just figuring out what to do next, there's so much to cover."

"I've started a bit of training with Miyuki," Earendil added, "so that's helped to give Lin a bit of free time ... unfortunately, that's probably about the only free time she gets."
He smiled ad Lin and put his hand on hers. "Miyuki really likes when all three of us are spending time together."

Cindy giggled, "Of course, you are her parents after all, and unlike us older children back before mother and father were married, she has only you two together."
Which made a huge difference, Miyuki was the eldest, she knew no other way, so of course unlike Lin's elder siblings who had to learn to accept Donovan. Miyuki had to learn to accept her parents were not actually married yet.
