They can demand all they want. I can't even get 1,000 together right now. If they don't cut us some sort of break or payment plan, I'll be suffering this a hell of a lot longer than a week. I didn't have this problem when Brian needed surgery Meh..

I went to Haunama Bay today. The tide was the highest they've seen in a long time, so they asked anyone that wasn't a strong swimmer or first-time snorkelers (me) to stay close to shore where we could touch bottom. The water was also very murky and we couldn't really see anything. We're going to try to go back later in the week and see if it's any better.

Ms. Selina Kyle Throughout my time I have been questing, seeking, searching for a top hat. A good top hat, more classic than the one I bought at a formal wear store ages ago. A good, classic, silk top hat is hard to find and even then, really expensive. $90 is a cheap hat. Most of them are felt. So it is with great pleasure that I celebrate knowing many of the local designers, because guess what one of them has decided to start doing? If you've guessed mailing angry attack gerbils en masse to the Scientology center downtown, you would be incorrect. She is trying her hand at millinery! Practicing for ages she is now ready to sell....well slightly miniature sized hats, but then she's a pretty gothy designer. Goths like hats a bit on the small size. I'm ok with this. I get a custom made hat at a Friend Discount. How much is that? A LOT. I am in such a good mood today! ZEE TINY TOP HAT! SHE IS FINISHED!

Cute hat. I could never pull off something like that but it is cuuute!
My neverending drama continues! The surgery place called yesterday. They said they would cut us a 25% discount. Also, they might not need the second surgeon plus she overestimated the cost of the procedure buy almost 1k. So take 25% of 5500 plus if we don't need the second surgeon, that's almost half off of that. She asked for 100.000 the day of the surgery and the rest on payments. That's fine with me. Apparently, she talked to my surgeon/doc and he said "she really needs this."
Today I got the call from the Hospital telling me what time to be there, etc etc. They also asked me a bajillion questions, of course. After that, she had to remind me not to eat/drink after midnight the night before the surgery. Okay, now I understand why you can't eat or drink or take meds. I'm sort of surprised about the "no chewing gum" thing. It's not like I swallow the stuff? Bah!
I'm getting more and more creeped out by the surgery itself. Sure I want this damn thing out but the whole process is creepy and scary and I try not to think about it too much but it's hard. On top of that, I'm shut up in this house like a damned veal. I can't really walk around the house much or things start hurting more. Basically I'm banished to the couch. I didn't get to buy groceries this week or.. do anything. I bugged Brian to let me go with him to get ice and it was nice to be out and when I got home I was sort of sad. Haha.. he thinks it's hilarious that I called myself a veal but.. whatever. That's how it feels.
People are all "oh, it's not a big deal". It's a HUGE deal to me because I've been suffering for 2 weeks straight and I've NEVER had any sort of surgery so it freaks me right the ******** out.

It'll be ok Claire. I've gone through the same sergury. The only thing that went wrong was my being illergic to the medication for the pain.
You'll be fine, i'm sure. I've had a few other friends go through the same thing, though they were not as young as me and they went through it just fine. It can be a frightening new experience to go through, i'll admit but it'll be ok. smile
I had an interesting experience with mornans today. They came to my house asking where I worked and if they could do any manual labor. Which through me off. i'm used to them just asking 'hey would you like to learn more about our religion?" not try to do the dishes and garbage for me. confused

I've never had an invasive surgery, but my first time heading into the OR last year I was absolutely terrified anyway, mostly because of the anesthesia, which I find to be way unnerving. I was 19 and had never needed anything done before, so while I can't match your experience exactly, I understand why you're freaked out for sure. Just make sure you have something or someone to keep you busy while you wait (delays are the worst. nothing makes anxiety more awful than waiting) so that you'll hopefully be distracted, and then once the anesthesia gets going, things feel like they go quickly and smoothly. Waking up isn't very comfortable, but just think about how much better you'll feel afterward when you're healed. heart

Which through me off. i'm used to them just asking 'hey would you like to learn more about our religion?" not try to do the dishes and garbage for me. confused Mormons are tricky. On the one hand, the faith is really quite utterly unfathomable, one of the nuttier offshoots of the One God tree. It produces beliefs that are becoming more radically outdated as society moves forward and gathers the political clout to force those views on others. On the other, most of the missionaries are really quite sweet. They're very big on helping people and very dedicated to the idea. This makes the nice ones very nice, and the creepy ones profoundly creepy. I've gotten some really scary ones (often paired, purposefully I would guess, with someone sane to reign them in), but most have been ok. It's amazing how a faith so bizarre manages to by and large produce such nice people. Perhaps because all the missionaries are so young, they've yet to become the truly poisonous people I've seen the parents of some of my friends be? Anyway, the really dedicated ones will continue missionarying through the winter and when it's below 0, I tend to take pity on them and give them hot chocolate. I still won't read their pamphlets though.

I still won't read their pamphlets though. Yeah, one was asking where I worked and what i did in my free time while the other one asked about chores. I had very friendly people that lived across from me in my old house that were very sweet. but didn't try to save my soul.. it was just a wierd thing for me to see happen.

....ick. I've never had any of them get that personal. Once they start asking for addresses and things I tell them to hit the road.

Well, the guy already had my address sense it was my home he was at...
after the work thing i was like "i have a job, i don't know you and i'm not going to tell you about it. Your a stranger. Now i'm very firm in my religion that doesn't have a church, so have a good day."

It's best to just get rid of those ones. Some of them come on really strong, it's the nature of faith. The really devout ones, the fanatics, they tend to be crazy. I'm glad that being in an apartment building I don't have to deal with them at all any more.
